158: I'll offer 900,000.
Julia didn't sleep well all night.
She woke up early the next morning. Seeing the marks on her body and then looking at Qin Yun, who was sleeping soundly, she didn't know what to say.
She thought about how Qin Yun had been worried about either the yongle encyclopedia or their safety over the past few days.
Feeling a bit distressed for him, she used a towel to wipe the beads of sweat from Qin Yun's forehead before heading to the bathroom to wash up.
In his drowsy state, Qin Yun saw Julia's busy figure and felt that a beautiful life was nothing more than this.
At that moment, the phone rang inappropriately. He picked it up and saw it was Haishizi's number.
He woke up instantly.
"What is it?"
Qin Yun asked back directly in a bad mood.
There was no movement on the other end for a while; only after five seconds did a voice come through.
"This is Haishizi. What's your situation? Why aren't you here early to prepare for today's auction?"
Haishizi hadn't expected Qin Yun to have this attitude. He froze for a moment before questioning him coldly.
Qin Yun sat up straight. "I'm busy. Go by yourself."
With the help of the Lyon Family, Haishizi posed no threat to him. Naturally, he would no longer help this bastard who had threatened him many times.
"You—how dare you speak to me like that!"
"Don't think that just because you have Lyon as a backer, I can't do anything to you. Whether in Belgium or the US, I have plenty of ways to make you disappear without a trace."
"I'll give you one more chance. If you don't come, you and Julia will be buried in Belgium forever!"
On the other end of the phone, Haishizi was practically exploding with rage. He couldn't believe that Qin Yun, who had been submissive before, dared to speak to him this way.
In his view, someone like Qin Yun, who had no power or influence and only a bit of minor talent, should be grateful and respectful toward him.
If it weren't for the fact that he needed Qin Yun's help for the upcoming auction, he would have wanted to go straight to Qin Yun's place and kill him.
"You'd better keep that chance for yourself. Don't end up dead with no life left to spend on the good things I found for you!"
After Qin Yun finished speaking, he hung up the phone directly.
Since he had fallen out with Haishizi, there was no need to be polite to him.
Otherwise, Haishizi would think he was a pushover and would take the time to come and harass him.
Hearing the "beep-beep" sound from the phone, Haishizi was absolutely livid.
A nobody like Qin Yun actually dared to hang up on him.
He slammed the phone onto the ground, a malicious look flashing in his eyes.
Looking at the shattered phone on the floor, he said viciously, "Since you're looking for death, don't blame me for being ruthless."
...After Qin Yun finished breakfast, he was considering how to attend the auction.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Julia opened it and saw it was the adjutant who had escorted them last night.
"I am Phil. Lyon arranged for me to come here."
"The Battalion Commander has matters to attend to and cannot participate in the auction. He has already completed the procedures for you and asked me to take you there."
Phil respectfully handed the auction number plate to Qin Yun with both hands.
Qin Yun was delighted; Lyon had been quite thoughtful.
Knowing that he wanted to attend the auction, Lyon had arranged everything for him.
Phil brought two squads of soldiers and drove with Qin Yun and Julia to the auction venue.
Seeing the stalls filled with safes and cardboard boxes, Qin Yun was stunned.
He had been so eager to attend the auction that he forgot most of the items here were state secrets and information on Belgium's mineral resources.
Although the items were valuable, they weren't of much use to him.
These hot potatoes were more likely to bring him endless trouble instead.
Just then, seeing Haishizi walking over, he had an idea.
"What are you doing here? Don't you know that those without an invitation aren't allowed in?"
Haishizi was very angry to see Qin Yun here. He looked around and saw that Lyon wasn't there, so he questioned him aggressively.
"What is an invitation? I have this. If you have a problem, go talk to the organizers."
Qin Yun said with a smile, waving the number plate in his hand.
He knew what he had to do now.
Since he had suffered so much at Haishizi's hands, how could he not retaliate?
The auction was his home turf; he might as well collect some interest from Haishizi first.
"You—how do you have a number plate? Could it be..."
Haishizi asked with a look of surprise, his mouth agape.
He suddenly thought of a possibility.
Could it be that Lyon had handled this matter for Qin Yun?
This kid was too persuasive. Even though he had badmouthed Qin Yun to Lyon so much, the kid still managed to succeed.
"You'd better be careful. Belgium is very chaotic. You never know when an accident might happen and someone disappears."
"Your best bet is to be obedient. Lyon can't protect you forever!"
Haishizi threatened coldly.
Violence wasn't allowed at the auction; otherwise, he would have already had someone kill Qin Yun.
"Don't worry. Even if you die a hundred times, I'll be fine."
"By the way, you should worry about your own safety. Otherwise, it would be too extravagant to use the items I found for you to make a coffin."
Qin Yun didn't care about Haishizi's threat at all and mocked him with a smile.
"Good, good, good!"
Haishizi said "good" three times in a row and gave a look to the bodyguards beside him.
The surrounding bodyguards immediately understood Haishizi's hint, and four of them crowded toward Qin Yun.
They couldn't kill Qin Yun, but they could teach him a lesson. Everyone assumed that since Qin Yun was the boss's person, no one would say anything.
Seeing that someone was looking for trouble with Qin Yun, Phil, who was nearby, stepped in front of him.
"Looking for death!"
He coldly spat out those three words, his right hand reaching for his waist as he sized up Haishizi and his bodyguards with an unfriendly expression.
Seeing Phil in his officer's uniform, the bodyguards and Haishizi were stunned.
Noticing the bulging pistol at Phil's waist, they were so scared that cold sweat began to pour down.
Inspection at the auction was very strict; weapons were absolutely not allowed.
The identity of this officer was now obvious; he must be an important figure in Lyon's army.
Lyon's subordinates truly dared to kill people in public, and there was a high probability the organizers wouldn't hold Lyon accountable.
Haishizi's hair stood on end, feeling as though he had just taken a walk past the gates of hell.
"Let's go."
After terrifiedly uttering those two words, Haishizi walked away with his bodyguards.
After thanking Phil, Qin Yun strolled among the stalls as if nothing had happened.
When he came across a warehouse he was interested in, he would take a look with his Profound Vision Treasure Eye, while keeping an eye on Haishizi's movements.
According to The Consortium's intelligence, Haishizi was carefully observing three or four safes.
While fearful, he hated Qin Yun so much that only tearing him into a thousand pieces could satisfy his heart's grudge.
He never expected that Lyon would value Qin Yun so much, not only getting him an entry ticket to the auction but also sending an officer to protect him.
After five minutes, the fear in Haishizi's heart finally dissipated.
So what if Qin Yun had a backer? Back in the US, he could deal with him however he wanted.
As for the auction, he wasn't someone to be trifled with either.
The Consortium had already provided several pieces of precise intelligence. As long as he secured those, plus the warehouses Qin Yun had found for him before, it would far exceed The Consortium's expectations.
Haishizi kept a constant eye on the warehouses mentioned in The Consortium's intelligence, but he didn't make the first move.
He calculated that he would wait for someone else to bid and then raise the price. This way, he wouldn't attract too much attention and could secure the warehouses he wanted at a lower price.
Seeing someone bid on Warehouse 39, Haishizi was delighted and hurriedly squeezed over.
When the price reached seven hundred and fifty thousand and few people were bidding, he raised his hand.
"I bid eight hundred thousand."
After bidding, Haishizi saw the suspicious looks in the eyes of those around him and felt secretly proud.
It seemed that taking this warehouse would be an easy task.
Everyone was a bit suspicious seeing Haishizi suddenly bid.
Was the expert Qin Yun not by Haishizi's side?
Should they bid?
"Eight hundred and thirty thousand!"
A fat man hesitated for a moment and decided to take a gamble.
What if this was something Qin Yun had already arranged, and there were good things inside?
Seeing someone else bid, Haishizi didn't take it to heart at all.
With this kind of hesitant fellow, they would back down as long as he decisively raised the price a few times.
Just as Haishizi was about to call out a price, he heard a familiar voice and froze.
"I bid nine hundred thousand."
Qin Yun had seen Haishizi's little maneuvers clearly from the side, so he called out his bid before Haishizi could.
