169: The person is dead

The butler, Potter, could never have imagined that his master, Haishizi, would die at the hands of Qin Yun.

Although he wondered why Haishizi hadn't called to inform him in advance.

Following the habits of an aristocratic butler, he still opened the door and welcomed Qin Yun and his group into the drawing room.

"May I ask if Haishizi has any message for me?"

After having a maid serve tea, Potter did not open the envelope, but instead asked Qin Yun with a smile.

Qin Yun said expressionlessly, "Open the envelope and see for yourself."

Potter didn't suspect anything and opened the envelope in front of everyone.

There was only a bloody handprint on the letter, with no handwriting.

The thin sheet of paper felt as heavy as a thousand catties in Potter's hands.

His eyes bulged, his hands trembled uncontrollably, and he could no longer maintain his refined composure.

"This... this is Haishizi's handprint. What... what happened to my master?"

An unknown fear spread through his heart as Potter looked at Qin Yun in astonishment and asked.

He saw the calm Qin Yun, the fierce Leon who looked like a bandit leader, and a group of murderous bodyguards.

He already had a bad premonition in his heart, but he didn't dare say it out loud.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot answer that question. Haishizi said he would reward me, and I am here to take what I am owed."

Qin Yun said expressionlessly.

"No! Without Haishizi's permission, no one is allowed to touch anything in the manor, or I will call the police."

"The local police station and various relevant departments come here to pay their respects during every holiday. Our relationship has always been very good. I suggest you leave."

Potter clenched his fists, forcing himself to muster some courage as he shouted with feigned strength.

He now realized that Haishizi had likely met with misfortune.

Qin Yun's group had come uninvited with ill intentions, likely for the purpose of extortion.

These people were bold enough to show up, so they must be confident, but Potter didn't want to give up without a fight; he wanted to threaten and force Qin Yun's group to leave.

Potter's palms were covered in cold sweat, and he didn't even have the courage to look him in the eye. Qin Yun knew this man was just bluffing.

"Local relevant departments?"

"Haishizi's intelligence is registered overseas. What use are local departments? Don't you know what Haishizi went to Belgium for?"

Qin Yun sneered with disdain.

Cold sweat poured down Potter's forehead. He was in a panic, not knowing how to respond to Qin Yun's pressure.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead several times and only spoke after a long pause.

"I... I am only the butler of Haishizi's household. I don't have the final say here. You... you should discuss this with Haishizi's wife."

Potter spoke haltingly and ordered a servant to call the mistress.

Leon gave a bodyguard a look.

The bodyguard nodded and followed the maid to prevent them from calling the police and causing complications.

"Ms. Kelly, this is bad! Someone is causing trouble in the drawing room."

The maid ran all the way to the mistress's room and shouted loudly.

"What's the panic? Someone dares to cause trouble in my house? Are they tired of living?"

A cold reprimand came from inside the room.

Half a minute later, a wealthy woman in her thirties, wearing a silk nightgown and looking radiant with a hot figure, walked out. This person was Haishizi's wife, Kelly.

"Follow me. I want to see who is so bold as to cause trouble in my house!"

Kelly waved her hand impatiently and walked toward the drawing room with a cat-like stride.

"This is Qin Yun. He is the consultant Haishizi hired for the auction in Libya. He's here now to claim his reward."

"Haishizi hasn't returned, and we can't contact the people in Belgium right now. Qin Yun also brought a bloody handprint. I'm afraid Haishizi has run into trouble..."

Seeing Kelly arrive, Potter hurried over and whispered the situation to her.

"Who gave you the nerve to cause trouble in my house? Don't you know my family's power? With just one phone call, countless people will deal with you for me."

"If you know what's good for you, get out now, or you'll suffer the consequences."

Kelly was used to being superior in this area and didn't care about Qin Yun's threat at all.

If she hadn't seen so many fierce-looking bodyguards, she would have already scratched Qin Yun's face.

Qin Yun was utterly speechless at this brainless, big-breasted shrew who couldn't read the situation.

"Don't you think about what Haishizi went to Belgium for? If the police were of any use, we wouldn't be here."

"Time is precious, and I don't want to waste my breath on you. If you don't agree, you won't just lose Haishizi's collection; you'll certainly lose much more."

Seeing the brainless Kelly, Qin Yun knew that half the battle was won.

In a marriage between a young woman and an old man, especially when the man is a Tycoon, the relationship is usually not very good.

It was already past nine in the morning, and Kelly's eyes were drowsy, looking as if she had just woken up.

But she was radiant, her skin moist and glowing as if she had been well-nourished. He didn't know if she had taken care of herself or if there was someone else.

Regardless, the couple's relationship was certainly not solid, which gave him an opportunity.

"You should take a good look at that letter. If you aren't too stupid, maybe you'll see something."

Qin Yun leaned back on the sofa, full of confidence, looking as if everything was under his control.

"Ah!!!"

Kelly picked up the paper, and seeing the blood-red handprint and the lingering scent of blood, she screamed in fright.

Looking closely, there was a prominent mark in the same spot where her husband had a burn scar.

A bad premonition arose in her heart. She took several steps back and asked with a look of terror, "Who are you? What do you want?"

"What exactly happened to my husband, Haishizi? What will it take for you to return him?"

Kelly thought of plots from TV shows and assumed Haishizi had been kidnapped by Qin Yun and his men, and that they were here for ransom.

"I said Haishizi ran into some trouble in Belgium. I'm afraid he won't be coming back."

Qin Yun waved his hand and said with some impatience.

Dealing with stupid women was such a hassle. Had she still not realized that Haishizi had met with an accident?

The most important thing now was to stabilize the situation as much as possible so that Haishizi's assets wouldn't evaporate into thin air.

"I want to speak with my husband, or I will never give you anything!"

Kelly bit her lip and responded with a look of determination.

"Yes, we need to confirm Haishizi's condition before we can give you the reward."

Seeing that Qin Yun had no intention of using force, Potter also chimed in, wanting to know the situation.

Qin Yun shook his head and gave Leon a look, indicating that he was powerless in this situation.

It was better to leave extortion to the professionals.

Leon sat up straight, his eyes gleaming with a fierce light as he scanned the crowd.

He took out a Glock from his waist and placed it on the table.

Seeing their boss take out a gun, the bodyguards behind him all drew their weapons and aimed them at Kelly and the others.

The drawing room instantly fell silent, filled with a murderous atmosphere.

Kelly and Potter were so scared they covered their mouths, not daring to utter a single word!

Leon shook his head, his face full of disdain.

"A bunch of stupid pigs! You can't even understand plain speech!"

"Listen up. Haishizi is dead. You have no room to bargain with us!"
