32: Deadly Bodyguard
Julia breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Ross, the car dealership owner, arrive as promised with a significant force behind him.
She knew that once they were exposed, Brother Wu Ying would harbor ill intentions and would certainly look for trouble.
Fearing that she and Qin Yun would struggle to leave this desolate place safely on their own, she had secretly called the car dealership owner.
The owner was very interested in treasure hunting and had a decent friendship with Qin Yun.
Qin Yun was also a popular figure in the Treasure Hunting Circle, and the owner often bragged in his circle of friends about knowing the Eastern Kid.
Now that Qin Yun was in trouble, Ross, who had many employees and the means to help, naturally came to the rescue.
Following Julia's suggestion, Ross made as much of a scene as possible.
He led the fleet in a few showy circles before surrounding Qin Yun, Brother Wu Ying, and his men.
They turned their headlights to the maximum, filling the circle with a blinding white light that made it impossible to look directly at them.
Ross and his employees got out and stood by their car doors, remaining perfectly silent and motionless.
Brother Wu Ying, who had been about to snatch the two boxes of antiques with his lackeys, was stunned by the sudden appearance of the fleet.
Where did these people come from?
Qin Yun and Julia looked completely unfazed; could these be the reinforcements they had called?
Facing the bright headlights, Brother Wu Ying couldn't see who had arrived, making him feel a bit panicked.
"Which group are you guys from?"
"I'm Brother Wu Ying. Why don't you give me some face and come forward so we can meet?"
Not knowing the other party's identity, Brother Wu Ying didn't dare to act rashly.
He only had a few people on his side and didn't dare to step forward for fear of being ambushed.
Ross remembered Julia's instructions not to speak or reveal their identities.
He simply honked the horn in response.
Seeing that the other party completely ignored his question, Brother Wu Ying became even more suspicious.
He had some connections in both the Treasure Hunting Circle and the underworld.
The fact that these people didn't show their faces meant they either didn't fear him or didn't want him to recognize them.
Regardless of the situation, if he went forward to investigate, he would surely be beaten.
At this thought, Brother Wu Ying already felt like retreating.
His lackeys were also shrinking back, not daring to step forward.
"Brother Wu Ying, they've made such a grand entrance; they must be big shots. Let's just wait and see."
"The Eastern Kid's background seems unusual; otherwise, he wouldn't have so many people backing him up."
"He might have some powerful force behind him. We should be cautious."
"Right, there are only four of us. We're no match for them. It's better not to go head-to-head."
...Brother Wu Ying knew his subordinates were right, but he was still extremely furious.
Qin Yun had snatched another excellent storage unit from him, and he had finally found a perfect chance for revenge.
But now, his plans were ruined by this fleet of cars.
Now, Qin Yun held the upper hand.
Whether they could even leave depended on Qin Yun's whim.
If Qin Yun ordered the people in the fleet to attack them...
He would be lucky just to leave this place in one piece.
Brother Wu Ying thought to himself.
He was incredibly angry but didn't dare to make a move.
He feared provoking Qin Yun and facing retaliation.
Seeing Brother Wu Ying and his men hesitating, Qin Yun knew they were safe.
"Brother Wu Ying, we're leaving. See you next time if fate allows."
With that, Qin Yun and Julia carried the boxes to their car and left with Ross and the others.
Brother Wu Ying watched the fleet disappear from sight.
Only then did he start cursing bitterly at the exhaust fumes.
He swore that next time, he would definitely make Qin Yun pay.
Ross escorted the two of them to the Second-hand Shop before saying his goodbyes.
"Just let me know if you need anything in the future. Just remember to sell me any Kobe-related collectibles you find. It's getting late, so we'll be going now."
Ross was very happy to be on good terms with Qin Yun.
Qin Yun's reputation in the Treasure Hunting Circle was already significant and was rising rapidly.
Being friends with Qin Yun provided a good connection and the chance to buy great items from him.
"Thank you for your help. This is an antique I found in the storage unit; take it as a memento."
Qin Yun was very grateful to Ross for the rescue and took a small item from the box to hand to him.
Ross hadn't expected Qin Yun to give him a gift and quickly waved his hand in refusal. "This isn't right..."
Qin Yun shoved the gift directly into his hand.
"It's not worth much, just a token of my appreciation. Please take it."
Seeing Ross accept the gift, Qin Yun laughed happily.
One shouldn't be too selfish; Ross had brought a whole fleet to save him, so he had to offer something in return.
Friendship lasts longer when there's give and take.
"By the way, are you familiar with any security companies? I want to hire a security team."
Qin Yun had offended Brother Wu Ying several times, and knowing the man's character, he certainly wouldn't let it go.
For safety's sake, security had become an indispensable issue.
Ross slapped his thigh and laughed.
"You've asked the right person! I have a cousin who used to work in security."
"Someone tried to rob his company, and he took out five armed thugs by himself. He was fired after the incident blew up, so he's been working at my car dealership ever since."
Not wanting Qin Yun to misunderstand, Ross finished the introduction and turned to shout behind him.
"Cousin, come over here! Qin Yun is looking for you."
A burly, taciturn-looking man walked over slowly.
Qin Yun felt he was reliable the moment he saw him.
Given such a record, one might expect a hot-tempered brute.
But this man looked very calm, and his muscles indicated his combat prowess was anything but low.
He was the typical "man of few words."
He was perfect for the security industry.
Qin Yun was very satisfied. "An annual salary of one hundred thousand. How about working for me?"
The man hadn't expected Qin Yun to hire him, let alone offer a hundred thousand a year, and he was very pleased.
"Alright. I'm Dewey. It's a pleasure to work for you!"
Dewey agreed very straightforwardly; he was happy that someone was willing to hire him despite his reputation.
Moreover, the high annual salary showed that this person trusted his ability and character, and he wouldn't let him down.
"When can you start?"
With the threat looming, Qin Yun wanted to get the security situation sorted as soon as possible.
"Tonight is fine!"
"My luggage is in the trunk; I'll go get it now."
After saying that, Dewey turned and left, pulling a large bag out of the trunk and dragging it into the shop.
Seeing that the bag was quite heavy, Qin Yun went over to help.
Getting closer, he saw that it was full of firearms and ammunition—there were even two Uzi Submachine Guns!
