109: Caesar's Armor

Seeing that it was an ordinary suit of armor, everyone was stunned.

These two suitcases were identical; everyone had thought it would be some kind of antique.

How could it be such an unremarkable suit of armor?

Thinking back to how the first suitcase also contained many weapons,

Everyone suddenly understood.

The owner of the suitcases must have been a weapon enthusiast to have spearheads and longswords.

If this suit of armor wasn't worth 130,000 dollars, Ronald would win the competition.

The plot was truly full of ups and downs; everyone looked at Ronald and Arnold with smiles.

The moment Ronald saw it was armor, he let out a long breath of relief.

His hope of winning the match was still very high.

Unless the armor belonged to a famous person, even if it were an antique, it wouldn't be worth much.

The moment Qin Yun saw the armor, he began to speculate.

Just whose armor would possess such an exaggerated treasure light?

The Expert had the Staff Member pick up the armor to examine it carefully.

The armor's lining was woven from small iron rings, with only the critical parts forged from fine steel.

After so many years, the armor still shimmered under the lights; it seemed the forging skill was exceptionally high.

The Expert walked around it several times, marveling and constantly praising the armor before him.

However, after looking for a long time, he still hadn't discovered whom this exquisite armor belonged to.

There wasn't a single trace of use on the armor; just which great figure had forged such a suit that still shone brightly today?

The craftsmanship and patterns on it would take several months or even a year or two to create even today.

Over a thousand years ago, it would have taken at least a dozen craftsmen three to five years to complete.

While the Expert was pondering who the armor belonged to,

Many people in the audience were becoming a bit impatient.

"Expert, hurry up! Is this armor worth anything or not?"

"Why the delay? It's just a suit of armor; is it really that hard to appraise?"

"We're still waiting to see the results of the match!"

"Don't torture us. Just how much is this armor worth? At least give us an estimate."

...The Expert was actually more anxious than the crowd below.

This armor was incredibly exquisite, a massive undertaking in ancient times; even an ordinary general wouldn't possess such a suit that was like a work of art.

They were looking for any trace on the armor

To determine its origins.

Seeing many of the big shots below getting impatient, a young Expert spoke up to explain.

"The armor looks to be over a thousand years old, but the style is very unusual; there are almost none like it that have been passed down. It's too intricate and refined, as if custom-made for a noble. It doesn't just have a magnificent appearance; its practicality is also very strong!"

He paused for a breath and continued, "If we could figure out its origins, it could be worth millions. But since we can't determine its history right now, we can only value it at 100,000 dollars."

"This kind of armor definitely has a significant background; no nobody could possibly own such a piece. 100,000 is just an estimate; in my opinion, it wouldn't even sell for a million!"

The young Expert's words almost made everyone's heads spin.

After thinking it over for a while, everyone finally understood.

This armor had a significant history.

But the Experts on stage couldn't figure it out.

They were just estimating it at over 100,000 based on past market conditions.

But this armor was too special; as long as they found an Expert in the relevant field, they could surely uncover its origins.

So, over 100,000 was far too low for this armor.

Walter, intending to suck up to Ronald, stood up and shouted.

"How about we just value this armor at 100,000 dollars? Since no one here can identify its origin, it doesn't matter if it could sell for five million; it's irrelevant to the current match. With so many big shots here, we can't possibly wait for an Expert on Ancient Rome to arrive for an appraisal."

"In my view, Ronald has won this match. Those two suitcases in the fifth storage unit were likely put there by the CEO; it has nothing to do with one's ability to scout units."

"Qin Yun and his group only got the items in those last two suitcases because of dumb luck when they bought the fifth unit. Ronald relied on skill for the fourth unit. Everyone can see who is stronger and who is weaker."

After finishing, Walter cupped his hands to thank everyone.

Quite a few people in the audience almost cursed out loud.

Qin Yun relied on luck while Ronald relied on skill? What kind of bullshit was that?

The CEO putting in the last two suitcases was even more bullshit!

The Host had said long ago that at most only one item could be moved; how could two have been put in?

Declaring Ronald the winner made even less sense.

That armor definitely belonged to a great figure; it was just that these Experts were shallow in their knowledge and didn't specialize in Ancient Rome, which is why they couldn't see its true value and gave an extremely conservative estimate of 100,000.

But given the true value of this armor, Arnold should be the winner.

Was this just fate?

Qin Yun bought the best unit, yet he was going to lose the match because the Experts weren't up to the task.

Ronald desperately wanted to win; he stood up and cupped his hands to everyone.

"Everyone has been here for nearly three hours. We're all exhausted, and time is precious. I think we should just end it here. How about we all drink to our hearts' content at the cocktail party tonight?"

Ronald stood up, raised his glass to toast everyone, and proposed ending the auction as soon as possible.

He was worried that if things dragged on, the situation might change.

It would be terrible if an Expert suddenly recognized the armor's origin.

So, he shamelessly made this very unreasonable request.

Those present were either Tycoons or veteran Treasure Hunters.

They immediately understood the meaning behind Ronald's words.

For the sake of winning the competition, this man was willing to say anything, no matter how shameless.

Arnold hadn't expected this outcome.

Clearly, the unit Qin Yun bought was much better than Ronald's.

Yet he was losing the match because the Experts couldn't identify the item's history.

The worst part was the foul behavior of Ronald and Walter, talking nonsense in front of so many distinguished guests.

This wasn't just losing face for those two; it was also embarrassing the company.

He could no longer remain calm; he stood up, intending to confront Ronald.

Before he could stand, Qin Yun pulled him back.

Qin Yun was thinking about who the armor on stage belonged to.

Hearing the Experts' words and seeing the unique patterns on the armor, a wild thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

So he held Arnold back and stood up himself.

"Isn't this armor Julius Caesar's?"

Qin Yun's voice was soft, yet it caused a massive stir in everyone's hearts!

Who was Julius Caesar?

He was one of the most famous emperors in history.

He was known as a leader of civilization, the uncrowned king of Roman history.

He was a brilliant politician, military strategist, orator, man of letters, and historian.

Caesar was originally a personal name, but due to his great achievements, the title of Western emperors became "Caesar," and even the Western calendar was named after him.

Put it this way, given the shallow historical knowledge of Americans,

Many don't know who the President of the United States is, yet they are intimately familiar with Caesar's deeds.

So, hearing Qin Yun's words, everyone was stunned.

The Staff Member holding the armor almost collapsed to the ground.
