119: Chapter 119 The Radar of the Space Carrier

The aerospace carrier's detection and navigation radar is a special piece of equipment; its primary role is to clear flight paths by detecting obstacles in advance, inputting their nature, and providing feedback after processing by the central computer.

If an obstacle is too large, the system feeds back to the integrated display screen in front of the captain, prompting a course change and automatically generating new paths for the captain to choose from.

If it becomes necessary to clear obstacles using the array Phase Cannon, the information is fed back to the weapons officer to activate the array Phase Cannon.

However, in addition to the 'Telescope' system in the bunker, the aerospace carrier also integrates extra auxiliary radars in all four directions.

Chu Ge guessed that this might be somewhat similar to the phased array radars of modern ships.

Several countries with advanced modern phased array radar technology, such as China, the USA, and some European nations, have already integrated comprehensive radio radar technology with up to four frequency bands.

The S and L bands are generally used for air and sea searches as long-range early warning radars; they have a long detection range but slightly lower precision.

The X and C bands are primarily short-range fire control radar bands used to guide missiles to their targets; these have a shorter detection range but high precision.

The neutrino detection sphere has a very long range, but it has a drawback: while it works fine on Earth, there might be more interference in a space environment, which is why those short-range auxiliary radars are included.

Under normal circumstances, the auxiliary radars are not powered on unless the radar system is awakened by the main control system in extreme environments to better ensure the aerospace carrier's navigational safety.

As for the fire control radars, they are integrated separately from the navigation and detection radar, specifically matched for the electromagnetic pulse railguns.

Chu Ge took a look and saw that it was basically the pinnacle of modern fire control radar, with significantly higher precision and detection range.

Chu Ge thought of the Navy's lovable Commander Meng; with such a grand gift, he would probably have to treat Chu Ge to dinner again.

The last one was the aerospace carrier's communication radar, which primarily falls under the category of Quantum Communication and is not on the same channel as the detection and fire control radars, so Chu Ge didn't waste time on it.

He had a general concept in mind and felt that, overall, it wasn't very difficult; compared to the previous systems, this was indeed much easier.

In reality, it wasn't simple at all; Chu Ge had forgotten the energy and time he had spent developing the neutrino detection sphere, and it had taken several months for the final 'Telescope' system to become officially operational.

However, it wasn't surprising that the aerospace carrier would use it; military equipment often shares many technologies, and the same equipment is simply divided into A and B versions to adapt to different environments, combat objectives, and the needs of various military branches.

After a brief overview, Chu Ge went back to continue drawing the blueprints for the energy system; he could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for this tedious task, making him even more motivated.

Time quickly reached the end of the month. After archiving and re-checking all his recent work results, Chu Ge relaxed completely and strolled over to Academician Chen's office.

He needed to inform Academician Chen beforehand about going to the Western Base with Li Gang; Chu Ge still had to observe this level of organizational discipline.

"Elder Chen?"

"Oh, Little Chu, how do you have time to visit me today?"

Academician Chen was busy as ever reviewing documents; leaders have their own share of worries.

"Isn't it the end of the month? Li Gang's team is heading to the Western Base. The development of the individual soldier system is complete and needs a professional environment for field testing and evaluation. The same goes for the electromagnetic pulse railguns, so I thought I'd go along and take a look."

Chu Ge said with great delight.

"Your time is yours to arrange. As long as it doesn't affect the subsequent plans for the aerospace carrier, it's fine; you don't need to check with me."

Academician Chen looked up at Chu Ge and spoke gently.

"Reporting to Academician Chen: the process data for the aerospace carrier's main systems and the blueprint designs have been completed ahead of schedule. They are now all archived and ready to be handed over once the shipyard is officially finished."

Chu Ge put away his smile and reported to Academician Chen with a serious expression.

"Haha, good! I've been waiting for those words. I know you've been cooped up lately; do you need a vacation? Maybe a date with your girlfriend or something?"

Hearing that Chu Ge's work was archived, Academician Chen was happy enough to offer him some time off.

"Uh, no need. She's currently filming. Going to the Western Base is fine; I think the Soul Blade is more charming, haha."

Chu Ge whispered to Academician Chen.

"Haha, you... I'll tell Dilireba Nazha later. This won't do; how can such a great beauty be less charming than a robot? She must be doing something wrong."

"Haha, Grandpa Chen, you're joking, I know."

"That remains to be seen. By the way, did Li Gang mention that an exercise is starting over there in the next couple of days?"

Academician Chen suddenly remembered and reminded Chu Ge.

"He did, but I'm not interested in exercises. Besides, time is tight; after a few rounds of testing and a trip to the Hive Base, there probably won't be much time left."

Chu Ge answered honestly. These types of exercises were mostly for exchange; for example, the Air Force's exercise projects followed training subjects that Chu Ge, as a layman, wouldn't really understand.

"Once you're there, it might not be up to you. Regardless, whether you go or not is your choice, but you must pay more attention to your safety. I'll call the base later to arrange security in advance."

Academician Chen said as he stood up to find his contact list.

"That shouldn't be necessary, Elder Chen. It's a military base with tight security; I'm not that precious, haha. Besides..."

Chu Ge almost said there was no need to fear because he had nine lives and would likely live for a long time. Fortunately, he bit his tongue just in time.

"That won't do. I'll have Captain Gong dispatch two squads of guards to stay by your side, and I'll notify the military to arrange the outer perimeter security. You don't need to worry about these things."

Seeing Academician Chen's persistence, Chu Ge let him have his way.

"Early the next morning, a convoy of nearly 50 people including Chu Ge and Li Gang set off grandly from the Research Institute's gates. Besides Chu Ge's jeep, there were two large transport trucks carrying various weapons and equipment for field testing at the Western Base."

The massive convoy once again drew a lot of attention as it sped smoothly toward the military airport.

"At the military airport, because there were many people and equipment, two 'fat girls' were parked on the apron. Chu Ge followed Li Gang and the others onto one of the military transport planes, while the rest were busy directing the loading of their weapons and equipment."

About half an hour later, the plane jolted, and Chu Ge looked out the window to see the surrounding scenery slowly receding; the plane had taken off.

After a period of climbing, the 'fat girl' entered level flight. A few minutes later, just as Chu Ge was about to adjust his position for a nap, Li Gang suddenly cried out in surprise,

"Academician Chu, look! Fighter jets!"

Hearing this, Chu Ge hurried to look out the window and saw two fighter jets escorting them on each side. The 'fat girl' was right in the middle, with the four fighter jets surrounding the big guy like bodyguards, flying in an arrow formation.

Chu Ge couldn't see the other 'fat girl', but he assumed it was receiving the same treatment.

"Academician Chu, do you think these fighter jets are here to protect the equipment or a certain person?"

Li Gang said with a grin.

"You guess if I'll guess?"
