165: Chapter 165 Squid Fishing Boat 1
The captain, first mate, and second mate looked at each other in confusion. After a moment of shock, they hurriedly walked out of the cabin.
Several of them arrived on deck, where the sailors had already gathered to watch. When the boatswain saw the captain and the others come out, he walked over quickly.
"Damn it, this is the central Pacific Ocean. Does he think this is his own bed? First Mate, Boatswain, tell the brothers to get the gear ready. Second Mate, go to the radio, contact our people, and report the emergency situation here."
"Yes, Boss." Everyone responded and went off to work, while Wu Changlei stayed there to keep watching those ships.
They had received special training from the company for these kinds of emergencies, so they didn't panic.
Hearing the captain's order, everyone became fired up. Before long, they all returned, holding long poles with hooks used for catching squid.
The squid fishing boat had iron railings on all sides that could be lowered and extended out over the sea; they were usually used to hang spotlights when working, but now they had become a barrier.
If they didn't cooperate, it would be difficult for this gang to board the ship.
That was Captain Wu's plan: stall, keep stalling until their own people arrived.
...
"Report, Captain, there's a situation!" The liaison officer beside him put down his headset and said loudly.
"Hmm? What situation?" Captain Gao Mingbo and the navigation officer gathered around.
"In the Pacific, three of our ocean-going fishing boats have been intercepted. They claim it's a temporary military exercise."
"What? Did they take the wrong medicine? Navigation Officer, order the fleet to full speed." Gao Mingbo didn't mince words and gave the order directly.
"Yes, Captain."
At the stern of the 46440, the churning seawater suddenly turned into spray cast backward, and its speed increased sharply as it cut directly toward the north.
"Liaison officer, have our fishing boats report their coordinates, then wait in place."
"Yes!" The liaison officer immediately relayed the captain's words to the fishing fleet.
"Old Su, what do you think these people are trying to do?" Gao Mingbo said as he returned to his position and picked up the Telescope to look out.
"Just like you said, maybe they took the wrong medicine?"
"Hmph, whatever their game is, I want to see who gave them the guts. Old Su, go and report this to the higher-ups."
"Yes!"
After the navigation officer left, Gao Mingbo contacted the captains of the two ships behind him, briefed them on the situation, and discussed potential contingency plans.
Time slowly ticked by. Wu Changlei, the first mate, and the second mate stood at one side of the ship's rail, their eyes fixed on the ship to the front right.
That ship was neither a coast guard vessel nor a warship; it didn't even have a flagβit was just a rogue ship.
It kept getting closer, its intent obvious: it wanted to compress the fishing boat's maneuvering space.
"Captain, they've released three small boats!"
"Hmm, I see them. Tell the sailors to get ready. If they dare to force a boarding, poke them hard. Our people are rushing here at full speed, don't be afraid!"
"Yes, Captain! Damn it, this time let them taste my red-tasseled spear!"
The second mate had dug up a red-tasseled spear from somewhere. The tip looked very sharp, and the bright red tassel beneath it was swaying in the wind.
"Haha, Second Mate, that's impressive. Poke their hands; don't kill them, that would be trouble." The third mate advised from the side.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
...
Dozens of seconds later, his hat was still dripping that unknown liquid.
He just wanted to change his posture when his hand slipped, and he fell straight down.
"Ah... Splash, splash." The two team members on the rope ladder hadn't even finished shouting before they fell onto the small boat. It happened so fast that the team members below didn't even have time to react before they were hit squarely.
Several of them stood up in a disheveled state. Harada carefully touched the liquid and sniffed it at the tip of his nose; it was the smell of cooking oil, mixed with a stench of urine.
"Baka! Kimoi!"
