175: Chapter 175 The Second Dream
Chu Ge prepared the equipment, calmed himself down, and then prepared to concoct the intermediate Gene Medicine.
Following the formula ratios provided by System Big Brother, Chu Ge picked up the various bottles and jars in the box and began the operation. This was already his second time doing this, and the process was fairly smooth; he soon concocted the finished Gene Medicine.
Chu Ge carefully drew the liquid medicine into the syringe using that oversized needle.
Once everything was finished, Chu Ge held up the syringe, shook it, and then held it up to the sunlight to examine it.
"It doesn't feel any different from the last time," Chu Ge muttered to himself, looking at the blue Gene Medicine inside the syringe.
The next second, Chu Ge began to gesture where to inject it. After gesturing at his arm, he couldn't bring himself to do it, so he moved to his thigh instead.
"My little arm is afraid of being pierced through by you," Chu Ge said to the needle. After speaking, he closed his eyes, and with a swift motion, he plunged the needle in.
The oversized needle was truly no joke. The moment it went in, Chu Ge began to feel a sense of empathy for a certain type of livestock.
No wonder when pigs were given injections back in his childhood, they would "oink oink" so loudly—this damn thing really hurts.
After pushing the medicine in, Chu Ge pulled the needle out. A bead of blood on his thigh swelled rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Chu Ge hurriedly pressed it with his hand and covered it for a good while before letting go. Fortunately, the blood bead didn't continue to ooze out.
Mission accomplished!
Last time, Chu Ge had passed out immediately after the injection. This time, just as System Big Brother had said, Chu Ge didn't faint, nor did he feel any other discomfort; he didn't even have any reaction at all.
Chu Ge stretched his limbs; now, even the pain in his leg was gone. He began to suspect that he had injected a fake Gene Medicine.
After agonizing over it for a while, Chu Ge couldn't be bothered to care anymore. He turned on his computer and began organizing some data and blueprints for the gravity device from yesterday.
In the afternoon, Captain Gong brought Li Gang, Yan Tianhao, and others to visit. They were all very happy to see Chu Ge, especially Li Gang, who was anxiously demanding that Chu Ge assign him a new research project, as the projects in his hands were all in the data testing phase and nearing completion.
Chu Ge rolled his eyes at him. Did he really think he was Doraemon, able to conjure whatever he wanted?
Yan Tianhao and Zheng Jun were laughing uncontrollably on the side. The two of them had now grown into absolute core researchers of the Research Institute; this speed was considered rare in the Research Institute, and this was partly due to their own hard work.
Of course, it also had everything to do with Chu Ge.
Time came to the evening. Chu Ge didn't plan to stay up late today. Although he didn't feel anything unusual from the Gene Medicine, he still decided to follow System Big Brother's warning: rest well, avoid strenuous exercise, and don't do anything that would cause his hormones to spike.
The wall clock ticked away. Lying on the bed, Chu Ge began to snore softly; he had been asleep for a long time.
Suddenly, his eyebrows twitched once, twice, and then his eyelids began to twitch rapidly...
Chu Ge wanted to wake up, but no matter how hard he tried to open his eyes, it was as if he were caught in a nightmare, unable to summon any strength.
Chu Ge held his breath and used all his might to open his eyes. This time, he opened them, but the scene before him made him find it hard to believe.
He found himself standing in the middle of a ruin: mottled plaster, a desolate city, dying climbing plants on dilapidated buildings, and hazy text on a billboard at a distant intersection.
He was too familiar with this scene; wasn't this the same dream he had after injecting the primary gene reagents?
"System Big Brother, are you there? Wake up!!!"
Chu Ge tried to wake up his system cheat, but all he received was an empty echo.
He was the only one in this dream; even the system was blocked out. No, that wasn't right. Chu Ge remembered that, according to the plot from last time, there should be a group of "people."
Sure enough, just as Chu Ge thought of this, the sky above began to change abruptly. Chu Ge stared at the slowly forming black hole and closed his eyes; he didn't even have the will to resist this thing.
What he needed to do now was to try his best to recall some details of this dream from last time.
The crackling sound of electricity came to his ears. Chu Ge knew that he had now been sucked into the black hole along with everything around him. He ignored it and continued to recall some details.
After estimating the time, Chu Ge tested the ground with his foot; he was already on the ground. He opened his eyes wide.
After his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Chu Ge looked at the huge spaceship wreckage behind him. Several dazzling sparks accompanied his descent from high altitude. These scenes played out before Chu Ge's eyes again like a movie, exactly the same as the first dream.
After the blue Energy Ball illuminated the entire hall, Chu Ge tentatively looked down. Below the steps, a sea of "humans" were kneeling, still holding their hands high, chanting something.
Chu Ge walked down the steps. When he passed a stone, he deliberately took a few extra looks at it. The previous dream had ended here, but now he had already walked to the bottom of the steps.
At the very front of the crowd were a few elderly people who looked quite old, with silver hair, wrinkled skin, and blue eyes. Chu Ge looked at those pairs of eyes, as if looking at a pile of sapphires.
"These few should be their leaders, like elders, right?" Chu Ge said silently in his heart.
"Welcome, my Lord?"
A nonsensical sentence was spoken in a language Chu Ge had never heard before. He was startled, not by the content of the words.
He could actually understand their language.
"Where is this? Are you humans? Aliens?"
"..."
"Let's answer my first question first. This definitely isn't Earth, right? Is it another planet? Does this planet belong to the Solar System? Or the Milky Way?"
Chu Ge asked anxiously. He had to be anxious; he didn't know when this dream would end, and before it did, he wanted to learn more about the situation here.
Since this dream had appeared in his dreams time and time again, there must be some revelation.
The few elderly people shook their heads. Chu Ge didn't understand the meaning of their head shaking; maybe they didn't understand?
"Why do you call me Lord?" Chu Ge sorted out his thoughts and changed the question.
"Our tribal prophets have passed down a message from a very, very long time ago: the Holy Land will one day be opened, the blue Star Soul gate will bloom, and a strong person from another world will walk out from there. He will be the lord of our entire territory!"
Chu Ge opened his mouth. What kind of nonsense was this? How did they end up with prophets? Could their society still be in the tribal stage?
Thinking of this, Chu Ge began to examine the clothes they were wearing. They didn't look rough; at least they weren't made of leaves. He felt the material was a bit like linen or something similar.
He bypassed the few elderly people and walked behind them. There were a few young people standing here, and further back were all people kneeling on the ground, densely packed as far as the eye could see.
Chu Ge guessed that since these young people could stand here, it meant their status wasn't low. Young people had a common language, so it should be easier to communicate, right?
He scanned the circle: three men and five women. Without thinking, he strode up to a tall woman. The woman had her head lowered, her hands crossed over her chest, and her long silver hair hung down naturally, looking very soft and smooth.
"Could it be that they also use Rejoice? Uh, what am I thinking."
Chu Ge cleared his throat, his eyes fixed on the woman in front of him.
"Raise your head!"
