245: Chapter 245 Is it for real?

"It's not to that extent, but we should at least intimidate them a bit, right?"

Charles Barney was also lacking some confidence; he hadn't been like this before.

"Everyone, I now suspect that NASA's two previous lunar orbiters were intentionally destroyed by them."

Tom Brown added fuel to the fire.

"Tom, is there any evidence?" Rodriguez asked; the intelligence agency hadn't received any relevant reports.

After speaking, he gave his old friend a pointed glare.

"No, it's... it's just a suspicion. I can't provide you with evidence for things happening in space."

Tom received the warning from Rodriguez and shut his mouth.

"Secretary Charles, how many carrier strike groups are currently in the Asia-Pacific region?"

Anderson Edward ignored Rodriguez and the others, asking Charles directly.

"Two: the USS Carl Vinson and the USS Ronald Reagan."

"The Carl Vinson is currently cruising in the waters southeast of Japan, and the Reagan is undergoing refit and maintenance at its home port in Yokosuka."

"We also have two amphibious assault ships at the Sasebo Base in Japan: the Blue Ridge and the Belleau Wood."

Charles laid out America's entire hand in the Asia-Pacific.

"Far from enough. I agree with Secretary Charles's suggestion. America has the world's most powerful nuclear weapons and carrier fleets; we fear no one. We must maintain a suffocating pressure on them."

Anderson voiced his opinion; he had wanted to do this for a long time.

"What about the diplomatic level? Do we need to touch base with our die-hard allies?"

"I think guiding public opinion is necessary. China is no longer the China of the past, especially now with their explosion of military technology. I don't think we can go it alone!"

Brzezinski was the US Secretary of State; having fought many wars of words, he could spout such standard rhetoric without even thinking.

"Everyone, calm down for a moment. Do you even understand China's current military strength?"

"Setting aside the combat effectiveness of their aerospace carrier for now, the Mecha Warrior and the fighter jets that appeared in the waters near Japan possess quite impressive capabilities."

Little John William, the Senate Chairman, seemed to retain a bit of reason; he was the youngest among these big shots.

Correspondingly, his ability to accept new things was also the strongest.

Unlike the other old men who had been domineering for half their lives, even if you held a gun to his head, he would still wonder if the gun was loaded.

"Oh, and there seems to be a mysterious anti-missile system; our latest model of unmanned reconnaissance drone was shot down by it."

"Everyone, are you not considering these factors?"

Little John William's words had some effect, and the conference room fell into silence once more.

"It's worse now that you've mentioned it; I've only just realized that we've been suppressed by them everywhere this past year."

"If we don't react now, America will soon be left all alone. When that happens, the momentum will truly be gone."

The US Secretary of State, Brzezinski, spoke with righteous indignation.

As Secretary of State, he truly felt the crisis.

One obvious point was that some countries that used to follow their every lead were now playing both sides.

If this continued, it would only be a matter of time before they abandoned America to embrace a new world leader.

The only suspense was how fast or slow the process would be.

Little John William stopped talking; he also knew this matter was very thorny, and doing nothing was not a good solution either.

"Secretary Charles, which two carriers do you plan to redeploy?" Anderson continued to ask.

"The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Arabian Sea and the USS Theodore Roosevelt, which is currently visiting Australia. These two are the closest and can set sail immediately."

Charles had planned it all out long ago.

"Fine, since everyone shares this intention, I will draft a specific plan and report it to the President."

Condori Zaless gave a summary.

"As for the matter on the moon, we must immediately issue a statement along with Western nations."

"Haven't they always advocated for the peaceful use of space resources? How do they explain this base?"

"We need to unite relevant countries to demand an explanation from China. What is the nature of the base they are building? This must be made public; it concerns the safety of all mankind."

"And regarding the satellites, even without evidence, we should use the incident to make a point. It's the perfect way to illustrate the military purpose of this base, which violates our common proposal for the peaceful use of space by humanity."

"..."

Brzezinski fully utilized his oratory talents, rambling on for quite a while.

The position of US Secretary of State was indeed not something an ordinary person could handle.

One must be gifted with the gab.

With preliminary response plans in place for both military and diplomatic fronts, the meeting of the big shots concluded.

However, the President of the United States had not managed to arrive by the time the meeting ended.

Since a result had been reached anyway, Condori Zaless informed the President of their decision directly.

After all, the final documents still required his signature.

The two agreed to discuss further at the White House, and the President specifically requested the Secretary of State and Secretary Charles to report to the White House as well.

It seemed that President Mason was still uneasy and wanted to hold a smaller White House version of the meeting.

As the high-level meeting ended, the big shots left NASA headquarters one after another.

While the American leaders were flying all over Washington in helicopters,

Chu Ge and Commander Wang had already returned to the aerospace carrier.

Though both were acting like ostriches, pretending others couldn't see them.

As the command center, the aerospace carrier couldn't be without its commander for long.

After bidding farewell to Commander Wang, Chu Ge dove back into Elder Huang's laboratory.

After another failure, Chu Ge cleared his mind of all thoughts.

He began to reminisce from the moment System Big Brother first called out to him two years ago, every detail replaying in his mind without omission.

Since the existing theories on Earth were completely incompatible with this device,

It was possible that it exceeded Chu Ge's current scope of knowledge.

The only thing he could rely on was the extraordinary physical concepts provided by the Military-Industrial System over the past two years.

Chu Ge hoped to find a breakthrough point from them.

He took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.

Chu Ge was mentally reviewing everything in reverse.

Starting from the discovered bionic systems, the Tianzhi system, all the advanced technologies of the Lunar Base, the intelligent robot system, all the data on the aerospace carrier, the various weapons and modular subsystems of individual equipment, quantum systems, mecha technology...

The Prism Tower, the neutrino detection technology of the telescope project.

Chu Ge's brain was like a high-speed CPU; not a single character was missed, and the reading speed became faster and faster...

Chu Ge suddenly opened his eyes: Neutrino Oscillation, particle physics, PMNS Matrix, Two-flavor Oscillation.

What caused the oscillation phenomenon? Quark Theory? Parity non-conserving interactions?

Chu Ge seemed to have caught the scent of what he was looking for; he picked up the large data terminal in the lab.

Pulling out the stylus, he began to record rapidly on the screen...
