48: Chapter 48 A False Alarm. Chu Ge Arranges Work Plans for His Two Followers
The people in the Data Center instantly fell silent.
Chu Ge looked at the large screen beneath the blue alarm light. The data map was constantly changing, and upon closer inspection, it was clearly a regional map of East Asia.
"Report, the system has detected an intercontinental ballistic missile launch in the direction of the Northeast Asian peninsula."
"The peninsula? Forget it, it's a false alarm. It's definitely that fat guy with nothing better to do, tinkering with missiles at home again for fun."
Chu Ge said jokingly.
A few minutes later, the blue warning light turned yellow, and the "woo-woo-woo" alarm sound stopped.
"Hmm, looks like another failure!"
"..."
Chu Ge and the others stayed in the Data Center for four or five hours. Seeing that the system was running without any issues, they prepared to return to the Research Institute.
"Wang Yun, I still have matters to attend to at the Research Institute, so I'm heading back. If there are any problems here, you can call me directly."
"Yes, Academician Chu!"
After Wang Yun finished speaking, she gave a military salute. Chu Ge returned the salute, then turned and waved to Zheng Jun and the other, signaling them to follow, before leaving the Data Center.
In the service elevator.
"Academician Chu, what was that high-energy accelerator you mentioned earlier?"
Zheng Jun had been startled when he heard the term earlier. He had been about to secretly ask Chu Ge, but the commotion of the false alarm had disrupted him. Now, he finally couldn't hold back and asked.
"I thought you wouldn't have noticed. When you arrived, didn't you notice that this so-called radar center didn't have any of those massive long-range early warning radar antennas, right?"
"Oh, indeed not. However, such radar antennas could be set up in another location and connected here via military data fiber-optic cables."
Zheng Jun answered honestly.
"Yes, indeed. But our antenna isn't far away; it's right under your feet!"
"Ah? You... are you saying it's underground in this bunker?"
"Yes."
"This... this is the first time I've heard of a radar buried underground."
Yan Tianhao, standing beside them, couldn't help but join the conversation.
"Haha, well, our radar is a bit special. Zheng Jun might understand a bit about the specifics."
"Hmm?"
"Neutrino detection technology doesn't require antennas. It can detect global military activity through neutrino oscillation, and the core of neutrino detection technology is the high-energy accelerator."
"Ah? This... this is simply incredible. You've already started applying neutrino technology? Academician Chu, did you develop this technology? That's a guaranteed Nobel Prize in Physics."
The look in Zheng Jun's eyes when he looked at Chu Ge changed.
"Nobel? What's a Nobel Prize worth? Does the cutting-edge technology of grand China need them to evaluate it?"
As Chu Ge spoke, the service elevator came to a smooth stop. He strode out and walked away with his head held high.
"Neutrino detection technology? Is it difficult?"
Yan Tianhao couldn't help but say to Zheng Jun.
He studied astrophysics, and although he had encountered neutrinos, he only knew of them in passing.
"Difficult? Let's put it this way: you can count the number of people in the world who can even touch the surface of it on one hand. Yet, yet our Academician Chu has already put it into practical application! Do you know what this represents?"
"What?"
"China is already standing at the pinnacle of the world in quantum physics!"
After saying this, Zheng Jun also walked away with his head held high.
Yan Tianhao watched their backs, feeling his body instantly filled with energy. He clenched his fist tightly and hurried to catch up to Chu Ge.
"Academician Chu, give us our assignments when we get back to the Ordnance Research Institute. Everyone is busy doing research, and we... I feel like I can't stay idle for a single moment."
These were his heartfelt words. He felt as if he had suddenly found his direction in life, especially with a brilliant lighthouse guiding him forward.
Chu Ge turned back to look at this high-achieving student. Calculating his age, he was probably a bit older than himself. He understood the urgency in Yan Tianhao's heart at this moment.
"Hmm, don't be impatient when doing things; take it slow. Tianhao, I'll just call you by your name, okay? Don't mind."
Chu Ge slowed his pace, rarely revealing a teacher-like demeanor.
Learning has no order of precedence; the one who is more accomplished is the teacher. Chu Ge had slowly grown accustomed to the worshipful mindset of the crowd.
"You are a high-achieving student in astrophysics. I wonder if you have researched cosmic velocity, anti-gravity systems, or warp drives?"
This plain and simple question left Yan Tianhao speechless in surprise. He had thought Chu Ge might favor Zheng Jun's micro-quantum theory research, but he hadn't expected him to suddenly ask about his own specialty. After a moment of thought, he answered with trepidation.
"The first cosmic velocity is 7.9 km/s. The second cosmic velocity, also known as escape velocity, is 11.2 km/s. Simply put, it is the planetary speed required to break free from Earth's gravity and orbit the Solar System."
"The third cosmic velocity is 16.7 km/s, which can be understood as the planetary speed required to break free from the Solar System's gravity and enter the Milky Way."
"Hmm."
Chu Ge nodded in response, then waved for the two of them to get in the car.
In the car, Chu Ge told the driver to head back to the Research Institute, then immediately turned around to look at Yan Tianhao.
"Continue."
"As for anti-gravity, simply put, it's using the mutual opposition of two electromagnetic fields to form a potential difference, using this potential difference effect on an object to counteract its gravitational sensation, achieving a state of levitation."
"Hmm. Continue!"
Chu Ge nodded with satisfaction. Yan Tianhao's concise statement was very gratifying to him, even though he might have to slightly deflate him in a moment.
This superficial physical knowledge was only partially similar to the theories inside his System; or rather, the similarity was just skin-deep. More of it was blank or even contradictory to his existing knowledge structure.
Therefore, for a long time afterward, Chu Ge believed that his System came from an extraterrestrial civilization, at least several orders of magnitude higher in civilization level than current human society.
"As for warp drives, that's completely a trope from science fiction, right? Haha."
Yan Tianhao looked at Chu Ge, indicating he had finished speaking and was awaiting his instruction.
"Haha, how about this: I won't discuss theory with you for now. After all, given your current knowledge structure, it would be useless to talk about it. Let's talk about your work for the coming year first."
Chu Ge simply ignored Yan Tianhao. *Joking aside, why the hell should I explain it to you? I don't even understand it myself. If you insist on me saying something, then there's only one thing to say: I spent money, a huge amount of money, okay?*
After finishing his internal monologue, Chu Ge cleared his throat.
"Zheng Jun, after returning to the Ordnance Research Institute, go report to Team Leader Li Gang. He is currently researching a new type of rifle, so you might not be able to help for the time being. Later, for the new individual combat helmet, we will need talent in Quantum Communication, which is your field of expertise."
"Yes!"
Zheng Jun replied hastily after hearing this. Chu Ge nodded, turned around, and seemed lost in thought.
Yan Tianhao waited for 10 minutes, but seeing that Academician Chu hadn't arranged his task, he couldn't help but speak up.
"Academician Chu, what about me?"
"Oh, you? You will join the early planning group for the 'Aerospace Aircraft Carrier'. First, get a few subsystems ready for me. I will give you the specific blueprint plans later!"
"Aero... 'Aerospace Aircraft Carrier'???"
Yan Tianhao asked, stuttering. He briefly suspected that he had tinnitus, which had caused him to hallucinate.
