238: Chapter 238 Holographic Image of the Underground Cavity

Chu Ge and Commander Wang were chatting while eating in the cafeteria.

"General Chu, did everything go smoothly today?"

"Yeah, it went pretty smoothly. Things will continue as they were; that Energy Ball won't actively cause us any trouble."

"Oh? It sounds like there's a story there."

Commander Wang wiped his mouth, suddenly interested.

"Uh, no story really. I just accidentally went inside that shield."

"Clatter." The chopsticks in Commander Wang's hand dropped onto the table.

"General Chu, please, have mercy on me. Yesterday, I was lectured by Elder Long for a whole hour..."

Commander Wang looked at Chu Ge with a pained expression.

"Look, I'm completely fine, aren't I? It left a message. As long as we don't touch the ball, it won't actively attack us."

Chu Ge started making up a story.

"A message? What kind of message? Audio? Text? Can you understand their writing?"

Chu Ge stopped talking and looked at Commander Wang, who was full of questions.

Soldiers are always straightforward, and Commander Wang was clearly the type to get to the bottom of everything.

"It was, well, just some text. Our text. It displayed for a moment and then disappeared."

Chu Ge quickly strategized his next move in his mind regarding Commander Wang.

If he said it was audio, Commander Wang would probably even ask whether Star Soul was male or female.

That would be endless, and Chu Ge wasn't very good at making up long stories.

"Our text? That means they must have been to Earth, and maybe even our China."

"I have to report this!"

Chu Ge felt a wave of exasperation, but fortunately, Commander Wang finally stopped dwelling on that issue.

After finishing their meal, the two returned to the Flight Control Center. Next to the digital holographic sand table of the Moon, there was now another sand table.

The technicians at the Flight Control Center were calibrating the equipment.

"Captain Wu, has the drone data been integrated?"

"General Chu, it's already been integrated. The processor is reading it, and the digital holographic image will be generated immediately."

Chu Ge nodded and gathered around with Commander Wang.

They saw the blue holographic image on the sand table starting to form slowly from the edges.

By the time the image was halfway done, Chu Ge and the others could already make out the general shape of this underground space.

"Why is it a disc shape? Judging by the spaceship wreckage, it should be rectangular."

Chu Ge asked, puzzled.

"Could this be the base for that spaceship?"

Commander Wang's words reminded Chu Ge of something. Chu Ge pondered for a long time; it might actually be possible.

Chu Ge instantly regretted not asking that so-called Star Soul, but that ball seemed quite aloof.

By comparison, Chu Ge felt that System Big Brother was more approachable.

The full-state holographic image formed quickly.

Chu Ge discovered that the position of the ball was exactly at the center of this disc-shaped space.

The spaceship wreckage was indeed long and strip-shaped, connecting to that center, lying there like the hands of a clock.

"Can you mark the dimensions of this circular cavity?"

Chu Ge asked the technician nearby.

"Yes, one moment, General Chu."

Soon, a red arrow was marked on the raised holographic image: R100,000 meters, R100,000 meters. Chu Ge looked and saw that it was marked like that everywhere.

"Is it really that standard? How big of a compass did they use to measure this?" Chu Ge joked.

"General Chu, don't you think this underground bunker is a bit too massive?"

Commander Wang's focus was clearly different from Chu Ge's.

"It's normal. We estimated their spaceship to be at least 20,000 meters long."

"That big? That's more than ten times the size of the kunpeng. And if you calculate it that way, doesn't the underground space extend beneath our Lunar Base?"

"Didn't you say there was a gravity field there? Why don't we have one here?"

Commander Wang might have mistaken Chu Ge for Yan Tianhao; he asked one question after another.

"The gravity field in that place was likely caused by that Energy Ball. It's 200 kilometers in diameter; it probably can't radiate across such a large area."

Commander Wang nodded after hearing this.

In truth, Chu Ge didn't know the reason either, but he heard Star Soul say that its power had decreased significantly.

Perhaps, in the past, it really could radiate across such a large area.

"General Chu, why is the rest of the circle dark gray, except for where the wreckage is?"

"Those are unknown areas."

"Huh?"

"The drones only explored along the boundary. My original intention was just to see the shape of this underground space."

"They were each responsible for an area, and then they strung the data together. The middle part wasn't carefully surveyed."

"Even this took over two full days."

Chu Ge added at the end.

That was all the content shown by the holographic image. Chu Ge and Commander Wang walked to the porthole of the Flight Control Center.

Outside, the Lunar Base was still under intense construction. Chu Ge stopped and watched for a long time; the gravity field of the Lunar Base had already begun to be laid out.

Next would be the construction of the surface building complex of the base, which would be built in a specific order.

The speed would increase significantly; first, because the gravity environment would be normalized, reducing certain unfavorable factors.

Another reason was that the building complex was modular, which was much simpler than building houses.

"Commander Wang, at this rate, can it be completed by the Lunar New Year?"

"80%, I'd say. That underground cavity matter came up halfway through and diverted some of our energy."

Chu Ge nodded. Eighty percent was actually fine; basically, the core areas would all rise from this open ground.

The rest would probably just be some research-oriented laboratories.

The two chatted for a while longer, and then Chu Ge returned to his room. At this moment, he seemed a bit unhappy.

The words of that blue Energy Ball would still appear in his mind from time to time.

"System Big Brother, were you serious during the day when you said that searching for another starship was the most reliable plan?"

[This system never has complex human emotions; what I said was judged based on existing data.]

"According to what your brother said, the other starship should also be in the Solar System, shielding some ethnic group just like it is."

[It is not my brother!]

System Big Brother retorted directly. Chu Ge smiled; he seemed to have found System Big Brother's weakness.

"Fine, now please analyze based on your system data: in the entire Solar System, which planet is most likely to have life forms?"

[Based on the data, Europa, Mars, Enceladus, and Titan are the most likely.]

"Europa? The planet Europa?" Chu Ge knew about this moon; it seemed quite famous.

[Yes, although it is far from the Sun and is a cold world.]

[However, there is a large amount of liquid water there, and its seabed environment is extremely similar to the bottom of Earth's oceans.]

[It is the most likely planet in the Solar System to have life, other than Earth, without exception.]

[One more thing: in the life system of the Solar System, the element of water is crucial. Please remember this, Host.]

Chu Ge rolled his eyes at himself; why did this tone sound so familiar?

The next second, he began to doubt System Big Brother's data again. Shouldn't the most likely one be Mars???
