15: Chapter 15 Mecha System, Forced Blind Date

The next day, Chu Ge spent the whole day wandering around H City with his younger sister. He bought the little girl several sets of clothes and then took her to eat KFC at noon.

Chu Xiaowu clung to her brother all day; it was clear she was in a particularly good mood today.

The two didn't return home until dinner time. As soon as Xiaowu got back, she kept trying on her new clothes and showing off in front of Mother Chu.

"Oh, they're all brand names. Your brother is certainly willing to spend money on you."

"Of course! Unlike someone who is so stingy!"

Mother Chu picked up a rolling pin and made a move to strike, but Chu Xiaowu scurried into the inner room in a flash.

"I can see you've worked hard these past few years away from home. Spend your money carefully; don't be extravagant!"

Unable to catch Xiaowu, Mother Chu turned her focus to Chu Ge.

"I know, Mom!"

"Also, most importantly, you're not getting any younger. Haven't you dated any girls?"

"No, where would I find the time?"

Chu Ge didn't even mention Yu Le. It was all in the past, and bringing it up would inevitably lead to a scolding from his mom!

"Sigh, your aunt mentioned this the other day. There's a girl on her end who's quite nice. How about meeting her sometime?"

"Mom, here you go again!"

"I'm not going!"

Chu Ge had already been pressured to marry by Mother Chu yesterday. This is a scene that no traveler returning home can escape.

"You have to go even if you don't want to. Your father and I are getting old. While we can still move around, we can help look after your children later!"

"It'll be tomorrow! You're really rebelling now! I'll call your aunt right away and have her arrange it!"

"..."

Chu Ge obediently shut his mouth. Mother Chu was the head of the Chu family, and even Father Chu didn't dare talk back. Chu Ge knew when to quit while he was ahead.

In the evening, Chu Ge returned to his room and began to organize the technology tree in the system shop. The Prism Tower and the telescope project were already on the right track, and the remaining cleanup work no longer required Chu Ge's attention.

So, Chu Ge had to prepare for the next project!

He couldn't afford the flashy ones, and he felt the smaller ones had too low a price-performance ratio. Chu Ge had entered another period of indecision.

"The system recommends the host pay attention to the Mecha System!"

"Mecha? Reason?"

"The system only guides and recommends. Reason? Think for yourself!"

"Hey, I..."

Mecha, mecha, mecha... Chu Ge began to review modern battlefield scenarios, like a sandbox deduction before a combat deployment.

He couldn't afford an aerospace carrier right now. If that thing came out, the current combat models on Earth would be overturned, and even the traditional sea, land, and Air Forces would become obsolete.

That was for certain. An aerospace carrier plus its supporting escort vessels would be a standard Interstellar Fleet.

Its battlefield is space. Earth's navy, aircraft carriers, and Air Force wouldn't even be qualified to engage it.

However, all current layouts must revolve around the formation of an Interstellar Fleet.

Once the formation is successful, the only military branch that might still exist in the future is the Army. Even for cleaning up the battlefield, people are still needed.

Battlefield robots derived from the Mecha System, accompanying unmanned combat mechas, heavy mecha units, medical rescue, reconnaissance in complex environments, and so on—all of these would be useful.

"Big brother is still the most formidable. With just a little hint, I'm suddenly enlightened!"

"2000 Honor Points. Exchange?"

"Why so impatient? Is there some kind of trap?"

"---"

"Haha, just kidding! Exchange!"

"Congratulations to the host. All data for the Mecha System has been exchanged and issued! A friendly reminder: 7000 Honor Points remain."

"Thanks for the reminder. I was dying of excitement, and you just had to pour a bucket of cold water on me!"

"..."

Just as Chu Ge was about to look at the mecha data, a "ding" signaled an incoming message. Chu Ge picked up his phone.

"Rogue, what are you doing? This princess is free! ╮(╯▽╰)╭"

"I've got a headache."

"What's wrong? Are you sick?"

"Not exactly. I'm being forced into a blind date by my mom!"

"Hahaha! Let me laugh for a bit first—"

"I'm even being forced to go on the blind date tomorrow!!!"

"Tsk tsk tsk, haha. Remember to take photos; this gossip is too interesting!"

"Why do I feel like you're gloating?"

"Don't just feel it, I am!!!"

"We're done!"

"You've grown quite bold, haven't you? Say that again?" Dilireba Nazha sent a voice message, lowering her voice to act like a big shot.

"I was wrong, Your Highness!"

"Mhm, good boy!"

"Does the princess need to provide a frontline rescue?"

"How would you rescue me?"

"Airdrop, dummy!"

"That might not be a good idea. Your 'firepower' is a bit too much; I'm afraid my mom won't be able to handle it!"

Five minutes later...

"Hey, I haven't agreed yet!!! Hey..."

Dilireba Nazha stopped responding to him. Chu Ge shouted for a while in frustration before helplessly turning off his phone.

"This girl wouldn't actually come, right?" Probably not; she doesn't even know where I am. Chu Ge shook his head, stopped thinking about it, climbed into bed, and fell fast asleep!

Dilireba Nazha looked at the urgent text messages Chu Ge had sent on her phone and secretly covered her mouth, laughing!

"Stupid!"

She really did have the address; she had peeked at it when Chu Ge was filling out the forms at the 4S shop.

Dilireba Nazha sat on the bed with her legs tucked in, her large eyes staring at the dazzling neon lights of the Magic City outside the window, dazed, no one knowing what was on her mind...

Early in the morning, Chu Ge was dragged out of his blankets by Mother Chu and kicked out of the house early. Chu Ge walked along the empty streets in the early morning, thinking to himself,

"What is all this?"

The county town where his home was located was only a 30-minute drive from H City. Chu Ge drove over according to the address his aunt had given him.

Chu Ge sat in the designated cafe, boredly scrolling through his phone.

"Ding."

Chu Ge jolted, thinking it was a message from Dilireba Nazha, but saw it was actually the high school classmates' group.

"Classmates, is everyone back? Today is the day for our annual gathering. Don't forget!"

The class monitor, Huang Yong, @everyone in the group. Chu Ge vaguely remembered this monitor; he was extremely hardworking at school, always seen with a book in his hand wherever he went!

"Got it! Great Monitor!"

"Oh, isn't this our Department Beauty, Yan Bing?"

"Still as graceful as ever!"

"Go away, are you kissing up to her from afar? We haven't even seen her yet!"

"Hahaha, exactly, exactly!"

"..."

Everyone in the classmate group seemed to be awakened by Yan Bing, becoming exceptionally active so early in the morning. Looking at that avatar, Chu Ge felt a slight stir in his heart.

Speaking of which, Yan Bing and Chu Ge had a period of ambiguity. In high school, Chu Ge had even written her a cliché love letter.

"When winter thunders and summer snows, when mountains lose their peaks and heaven and earth merge, only then shall I dare to part from you!"

Recalling it now gave Chu Ge goosebumps all over. Feelings back then were very simple; holding hands and walking down the street counted as being in a relationship. Chu Ge and Yan Bing had walked those streets for a while.

Later, for some reason, they just stopped contacting each other!

Chu Ge didn't know if this counted as his first love; it was very hazy!

While Chu Ge was still reminiscing, a "ding" sounded as someone @him in the group.

"Old Ge, you didn't come last year. Are you back in H City this year? If you're back, let us know. I miss you, brother!"

Wang Qiang @him in the group. Wang Qiang was Chu Ge's best friend from high school. The two of them had skipped classes together, played games all night, eaten together, and slept together (in the same dormitory).

"I'm back! See you tonight! Brother!" Chu Ge didn't hesitate; for Wang Qiang's sake, he had to go!
