228: Chapter 228 Exploring Alien Spaceships

The Energy Ball was identical in form to the one Chu Ge had encountered in his dream.

At this moment, it was pulsing with light at a steady frequency; it was the brightness that was changing, though even when it was dim, it still emitted some light.

The Energy Ball in Chu Ge's dream seemed more extreme than this one; it would emit light-form pulse waves in concentric circles.

The one before him didn't seem as powerful as the one in his dream.

Chu Ge stared at the area beneath the Energy Ball for a long time.

He tried to see if the Energy Ball was fixed to a specific spot or if it was simply floating in mid-air.

However, no matter how hard Chu Ge tried, he still couldn't see clearly; the brightness around the Energy Ball was too high, and he could only see a vast expanse of white.

He also dared not look directly at the Energy Ball for too long, fearing that he might accidentally fulfill that popular online joke.

"Blinded by the light, my titanium alloy dog eyes..."

For a moment, Chu Ge was at a loss for how to proceed.

"General Chu, this spaceship is too large. The soldiers just finished circling it with drones."

"Many parts have collapsed into each other. Either it crashed at an extremely high speed, or it was blasted into this state before it even went down."

Chu Ge had been deep in thought, and Captain Gong had tried to approach him several times but ultimately couldn't bring himself to disturb him.

It wasn't until his subordinates came to report that he had no choice but to speak up.

"How big is the area?"

Chu Ge decided to start with other areas first; this Energy Ball was definitely the core of the entire spaceship, so he would leave it for last.

"The collapsed wreckage is over 6,000 meters long, and a conservative estimate for its size when intact would be 20,000 meters."

"As for the width and height, we cannot estimate them for the time being because the overall outline of the spaceship hasn't been mapped out yet, and the wreckage here might not be the entirety of it."

Chu Ge nodded and looked at the massive wreckage in front of him, which extended far back into the darkness.

"Release all the drones and map out its complete outline first. A spaceship this big must have something left behind, right?"

Chu Ge stopped dwelling on his dream.

He needed to investigate whether there were any other parts of this spaceship worth studying.

This was an alien spaceship, after all; whatever was left over would be enough to give humanity a significant boost.

Captain Gong accepted the order and turned to make the arrangements, while Chu Ge looked at the experts who had come with them.

Some of them were still pondering the Energy Ball just like him, while others had gone off with the soldiers to inspect the hull.

A few people were quite unique; they were staring motionlessly at a piece of debris on the ground.

When Chu Ge walked over, he realized that one of them was the young man who had spoken at the meeting yesterday.

"Academician Chu." Everyone stood up to greet him when they saw Chu Ge approaching.

"I remember you, Fang, Fang Muke, right?"

"Yes!"

Fang Muke replied loudly; it was clear he held Chu Ge in high regard.

"What are you looking at?"

"Reporting to Academician Chu, we are examining a piece of the spaceship's hull structure material."

"These people are all senior experts in the field of materials science," Fang Muke introduced.

Chu Ge nodded.

"Any findings?"

"Yes. At first glance, this spaceship's material is something we currently cannot manufacture. It seems to be radiating energy outward."

As he spoke, Fang Muke took off the data terminal from his arm, moved it close to the piece of debris, then moved it away, then moved it closer again...

The radiation monitoring values on the data terminal showed a certain rhythmic fluctuation corresponding to his movements.

"Ray radiation?" Chu Ge asked thoughtfully.

"It's possible. As for what kind of rays, we still need to go back and test it."

"Hmm, collect it carefully; it will need a special container. The protective suits we are wearing now should be fine, but the staff on the aerospace carrier aren't wearing them."

"Yes, Academician Chu."

After saying this, Chu Ge walked toward Academician Huang.

Academician Huang seemed to have been studying the Energy Ball the entire time, his focus so intense that he didn't even notice when Chu Ge walked up beside him.

"Academician Huang, this should be the energy source of the spaceship. You have always been a leading figure in astrophysics; have you discovered anything?"

"I'm ashamed to say, I've been studying it for nearly half an hour and still have no clue."

Academician Huang shook his head as he spoke.

"At the very least, the light it emits is relatively soft. I noticed you staring at it the whole time without any discomfort."

"Hmm, it seems it doesn't want to harm us."

After Academician Huang said this, Chu Ge felt a bit unsettled.

"Haha, Academician Huang, you're joking now, making it sound like a living entity."

"Ah? Academician Chu, I was just speaking casually. How are things on your end? I see the main frame of the spaceship is still intact; have you gone inside to take a look?"

Academician Huang seemed to have regained his composure.

"No, it has collapsed into this state, and I'm worried that if people go inside, it might trigger some negative consequences. Let's take it slow and conduct a preliminary survey first."

"Hmm, Academician Chu, you are very thoughtful. By comparison, I was a bit too eager for results."

Academician Huang looked at Chu Ge with burning eyes.

When Chu Ge first arrived at the Military Research Institute, it was he and Academician Chen who had insisted on applying for a military position for Chu Ge, despite all opposition.

It was also he who had watched Chu Ge grow from a green kid into the military legend and national role model he was today.

Looking at Chu Ge now, Academician Huang felt as if he had momentarily returned to two years ago.

"Academician Huang?" Chu Ge called out softly, seeing Academician Huang lost in thought.

In fact, Chu Ge understood what Academician Huang meant; anyone witnessing this scene would lose their composure.

Only he could view all of this so calmly, because of his Military-Industrial System and that strange dream.

"Academician Huang, the materials experts say the material composing the spaceship's hull is very special and has some kind of intense radioactivity; that is another main reason why I dare not let the team members enter the interior."

"Oh? I'll go take a look."

"Alright, I'll leave this to you. See what else can be brought back to the aerospace carrier. I'll go walk around with Captain Gong and the others."

"Alright, stay safe."

"You too."

The two parted ways, and Chu Ge walked quickly toward Captain Gong.

He walked quickly for a few steps, then started jogging, then walked again; after repeating this a few times,

"The gravity effect here is already not much different from that of the aerospace carrier. If there is a reaction device, was it not damaged during the crash?"

Chu Ge approached Captain Gong with his question.

"How is it going?"

"The data mapping is almost done. Once we return to the aerospace carrier, we can build a general model of this spaceship."

"Hmm, let's go, Captain Gong, let's walk towards the back."

"Yes!"

Captain Gong led a squad of guards behind Chu Ge, and as they groped their way forward, they looked at the wreckage beside them.

Just as Captain Gong said, the spaceship had undergone something unknown, and the entire hull was twisted together.

Chu Ge looked at a section, and his intuition told him that a simple impact could not have caused this effect.

"Was it destroyed by an attack?"

"On the moon? Near Earth? That's impossible, right? If aliens had reached our doorstep, there's no reason they wouldn't have gone to take a tour of Earth."

As Chu Ge was thinking about these questions, an anxious call came through the communication system.

"Academician Chu, Academician Chu, calling Academician Chu..."

The voice was very urgent, as if something had happened, and Chu Ge immediately became tense.
