7: Chapter 7: Returning to Old Friendships, Chu Ge Wants to Buy a Villa
Two minutes later, with a beautiful fishtail drift, Chu Ge parked the car steadily at the villa's entrance.
"Alright, delivered safely."
"Hmm, I didn't realize your driving skills were so good, Chief."
"Ahem, you should just call me by my name. It's a bit awkward."
"Hehe, by the way, it's hard to get a taxi in this villa area, so just take the car. Drive carefully on the road." Dilireba Nazha subconsciously started looking out for Chu Ge.
"Is that appropriate?" Chu Ge scratched his head, though what Nazha said made sense.
"Stop dawdling. The villa belongs to my father, and there are several cars here. Even if you drive one off and lose it, he won't notice."
After saying that, Dilireba Nazha gave Chu Ge a mischievous wink, then skipped inside, giving him no chance to hesitate.
Chu Ge shook his head helplessly. With a roar of the engine, the red taillights disappeared into the distance.
Speeding all the way, Chu Ge returned to the rental house he hadn't seen in a while. After a quick tidy-up, he sprawled out on the bed and drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Dilireba Nazha and Sister Li were incredibly busy with PR management, contacting the fan support group, and preparing for the press conference.
By the time everything was ready, they suddenly realized that the posts online had vanished without a trace. They stared at each other, feeling like they'd done all that work for nothing.
"Did that man of yours take action?" Sister Li pulled Dilireba Nazha to the balcony and asked in a low voice.
"I don't know, maybe. When we were discovered, there seemed to be someone cleaning up the aftermath, or we'd still be stuck there. You know I didn't bring anyone with me today."
"Hiss, is he the one from the base?"
"Yeah," Dilireba Nazha's face turned slightly red, showing the embarrassment of a young girl caught in a secret.
"Hehe, Nazha, I think your 'iron tree' is finally blooming. What? Are you smitten?" Sister Li began to gossip.
"No way! It's just... we get along well. We haven't reached that stage yet!" Dilireba Nazha's face was already starting to burn.
"Alright, it's easier if there's no trouble. I'm exhausted. I'm going to wash up and go to sleep. Goodnight!"
Dilireba Nazha fled upstairs. She felt like she'd have to dig a hole and hide if they kept talking. How embarrassing! Though she'd never been in love, she found it quite intoxicating...
The next day was bright and sunny. After waking up naturally, Chu Ge busied himself cleaning the entire house. Looking at this small two-bedroom apartment full of memories, his heart was filled with mixed emotions.
"It's time to move!" Chu Ge made up his mind, carrying a bag of bottles and cans downstairs.
Real Estate Agency.
Xu Hui had been having a run of bad luck lately. With the recent real estate market slump, her business had declined sharply. The head office had criticized her more than once. If this continued, she'd likely be replaced. She was thinking about how to save her job...
Xu Hui rubbed her temples. As she looked toward the door, she saw a familiar face walking in.
"Oh, Manager Xu, looking at me so affectionately? I'm not quite used to it."
"Hmph, I wondered who it was. Isn't this Young Master Chu? What are you back for? To experience the lives of commoners?" Xu Hui gave a fake smile, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Maybe I am." Chu Ge looked at Xu Hui playfully.
"Enough. Aren't you just back to scrounge for your salary? Let me tell you, Chu Ge, company policy states that being absent for seven days results in dismissal with zero pay! Calculate how many days you've been absent."
"Oh, alright! That sounds reasonable." Chu Ge had a look of indifference; he hadn't come for that pittance of a salary today anyway.
"Then I won't see you out. Xiao Lu, see your 'senior' to the door!" Xu Hui was being spiteful, not forgetting to mock Chu Ge before he left.
"You got it, Sister Xu."
Lu Ming walked forward, rubbing his hands together with the look of a total sycophant.
"Wait, I'm not here for that pittance of a salary. I came to ask if that villa in Yu Shi Jia has been sold yet?"
Chu Ge really wasn't there to pick a fight. He remembered that villa area was the same one Dilireba Nazha lived in. The environment and layouts were excellent, with birds singing and flowers blooming, and it was quiet, away from the bustling city.
Y City wasn't a large city. A decent villa only cost a bit over 5 million huaxia currency. He could completely afford it now.
"Haha, our Young Master Chu really thinks he's a young master." Xu Hui didn't even look up.
"Hahaha!" Lu Ming burst into laughter beside her.
"Chu Ge, besides that face of yours being somewhat presentable, what else do you have? It's not that I look down on you, but you can forget about that house for the rest of your life. Why don't you take a look in the mirror? What a joke!"
"Exactly! Just leave, Young Master Chu. Don't embarrass yourself here, okay?"
Chu Ge looked at these two sarcastic jerks and said nothing. He turned and went to the competitor's shop next door. This was the effect he wanted—it would make the face-slapping even more satisfying later.
"Sister Xu, he's still dreaming. He went next door. Did he take the wrong medicine today?"
"Seems like it, haha."
A moment later, Chu Ge walked out from next door, followed by a crowd of people treating him with great respect. A few young people set off confetti poppers with a series of bangs.
"Let's go take a look." Xu Hui's expression looked a bit off.
"President Chu, thank you for choosing us. I'll arrange for someone to deliver the paperwork, contract, and keys to you shortly. You can move in today. Just call me if you need anything!"
"Alright, thanks for the trouble." Chu Ge said as he walked, not even glancing at Xu Hui. He drove off in his Panamera in a cloud of dust.
"That car?! His?! Could he have rented it just to show off?" Xu Hui was wondering.
"Sister Xu, Chu Ge really bought that house. I just went next door to ask. He paid in full by swiping his card on the spot..."
"What?" Xu Hui slumped to the floor, staring at the end of the road where he had vanished. Her face was pale, and she shook her head like a rattle.
"This is impossible! This is impossible! How could he afford it? Over five million! I just handed this commission over to a competitor? Argh..."
Lu Ming secretly recorded a video on the side. His lips curled slightly, and a dark glint suddenly flashed in his eyes...
