Alex stared at the amount of exp points he had gotten after killing beasts for that whole day, he was very close to reaching 10k exp points!

"This way, I’ll be able to get enough exp points to craft the spell before the end of the week," Alex said to himself as he stored the corpse of a mutated rank magic beast in his space pocket. The silver white star patterns appeared behind him as he placed his palm on the body of the beast and made it disappear.

Alex then stood up and took out his phone; he took a look at the time; it was time to return back to Balon City.

Alex was delighted with his gains today as he turned around and used void walk to leave the place.

Although he didn’t encounter any large horde of magic beasts like the last time, Alex had still managed to kill over 800 magic beasts, with many of them being at the mutated beast rank, and some even at the transformed beast rank.

After using "Void Walk" several times, Alex entered Balon City without anyone noticing and directly went to the Union building in the commercial district.

He directly used the skill and appeared on the lowest floor of the building, startling the explorers that were already there.

"Mr Chen!"

"It’s Mr Chen, Mr Chen is here!"

The explorers gasped in surprise as they all looked at him. Mr Chen’s fame had grown yet again after the news of him singlehandedly killing a group of mutated rank beasts and a transformed rank beast was spread by the explorers who had been at the Golem Valley that day.

During the time while Alex was exploring, the explorers of the Golden Tree group, the Rising Wave group, and the other two groups actively bragged about how Mr Chen had come to save them when they thought it was already over for them.

The members of the Rising Wave group were the loudest as they had received the corpses of the high-level magic beasts as gifts from Mr Chen. They couldn’t keep it a secret since there had been others present at that time, so why not just brag about it?

This news shocked everyone, and many explorers were already trying to get close to the members of the Rising Wave group because everyone was already suspecting that Mr Chen might have a relationship with the leader of the Rising Wave group, the water witch, Mia.

After, she was someone who had attended a magic university before; her connections weren’t something they could guess.

But none of these mattered to Alex. He wasn’t even aware of the rumours that were spreading about him.

He glanced at the excited explorers who were watching him without approaching, clearly holding themselves back. The male explorers stared at him with admiration, while the majority of the female explorers had lustful gazes that roamed his mask and robe.

Alex didn’t see any member of the Rising Wave group, he guessed that they might still be recovering at the group base.

Not long after, Owen came down to welcome him. The both of them entered the elevator and they began to ascend.

"Mr Chen has gotten popular lately; the entire city knows about what you did at the Golem Valley the other day. Mr Chen is indeed extraordinary."

Owen began to speak after the elevator started to rise; his words were filled with praises for Alex, and he really seemed to admire Mr Chen.

After talking for a bit, Owen brought up the matter of Mr Chen gifting the valuable corpses of the lizardmen to the Rising Wave group. He asked if Mr Chen had any relationship with the leader of the Rising Wave group or if he had any thoughts about the group as a whole.



"It was just a side thought, don’t think too much about it," Alex said casually.

"Oh, as expected of Mr Chen. You’re probably the only one who will give out corpses of mutated rank magic beasts and a transformed rank beast." Owen smiled lightly.

Alex didn’t respond and the elevator continued to rise in silence.

A bit over a minute passed and the two of them reached the room where Alex usually took out the beasts he had come with.

As always, Owen remained outside while Alex entered the room alone.

Silver white stars appeared around him before forming two star patterns that let out a blinding white glow.

"Space pocket,"

The next moment, corpses of magic beasts began to appear in the middle of the room at a fast speed. Different beasts of various sizes quickly formed a huge mountain in the center of the room in a matter of seconds.

In the blink of an eye, the corpses of over 800 magic beasts from a huge pile in front of Alex. He had to tilt his head just to see the top.

Alex could not help but be amazed as he stared at the mountain of beast corpses in front of him, everything had actually fit inside the room just as Owen had said; the space inside the room was being controlled by a formation that would allow it to hold whatever was brought inside..

It was really true.

After marvelling for a bit, Alex went out and informed Owen that he was done. Owen nodded with a smile before entering the room while Alex remained outside.

The moment Owen entered the room, his body froze as he stared in front of him with shock on his face. His eyes almost popped out of their sockets and his lips twitched.

So many beasts corpses!

He was honestly frightened. The corpses of the beasts were so many that he didn’t even know what to think.

The corpses in front of him included lizardmen, golems, four-eyed cats, and so many different kinds of beasts.

Maybe Mr Chen didn’t kill all of these in one day?

Outside, Alex waited for Owen to finish with his inspection and calculations.

Unlike the other times when he would return with around 20 to 30 beast corpses, he had brought almost 1000 this time so it had taken Owen a long time to finish with his calculations; especially since they were not all at the same rank and each corpse had a different value depending on how useful they were to mages.

It took Owen almost an hour to finish everything before coming out, the look of disbelief was still on his face even after he came out of the room.

His head turned and he looked at Mr Chen’s mask.

"M-Mr Chen, those beast corpses..."

Owen tried to say something but trailed off as he realized that he didn’t even know what he wanted to say.

In the end, he only expressed his surprise at seeing so many beasts at the mutated and transformed beast rank within the mountain of beast corpses. He then asked Alex to follow him to his office so they could proceed with the payment.

After reaching the office, Owen didn’t ask Mr Chen if he wanted his payment to be transferred since he already knew that Mr Chen only took Union cards.

Alex was stunned after hearing that everything he had brought had earned him sixty million Zen after the service cost was deducted, Owen asked for his Union card so he could add the money to it.



Alex didn’t react immediately after hearing the amount he just made.

Sixty million Zen.

For someone who wasn’t in urgent need of money at the moment, Alex felt overwhelmed by the sum that Owen had mentioned. It was several times more than what he had given to Emily’s principal!

"I lost the previous card, give me another one," Alex said after calming himself.

Owen "..."

He stared at Mr Chen, speechless.

’I know that an expert like yourself won’t lack money but the previous card had over ten million Zen the last time you came. Even if ten million Zen means nothing to you, how can you say you lost it?!’ Owen raged inwardly but quickly calmed down as he realized that Mr Chen must have other reasons that he didn’t want to say.

After all, Mr Chen had a storage device and he couldn’t misplace something. As for the issue of theft, who would be bold enough to robe someone like Mr Chen? Would they be alive to spend the money?

’Yes, he must have gifted it to someone or just wants to have a second Union card.’ Owen concluded as he went out of the office to arrange a second Union card with Mr Chen’s money.

After a bit, Owen returned and handed the card to Mr Chen.

Alex stared at the card in his hand.

Sixty million Zen, he wondered how his parents would react if they knew that he had this much money.
