Chapter 258: Threat to the seven continents.

"Come in," a male voice sounded from inside the tent.Alex sensed the aura of the person inside the tent and saw that he was a Saint rank mage, he could already tell the gender after the other party asked them to come in.

"You both stay here," Maria said to the two elders with her before turning to Alex. "Please come with me, Mr Chen."

Alex silently followed behind her as they entered the tent. Inside the tent was a simple setting. A table, a chair, and small boxes arranged in the corner. A mat was spread out on the ground in the centre of the tent, and a shirtless man in grey pants could be seen sitting on it in a cross-legged position with his eyes closed, mana from the surrounding was being absorbed into his body.

The man opened his eyes after Alex and Maria entered the tent.

"Lucas, Vice President of the Union HQ. The president is currently stuck with some responsibilities and is unable to join us. I’ll be in charge of our force from the sixth continent." The shirtless man introduced himself while gazing at the two.

He quickly saw through Maria’s strength but he lifted an eyebrow after looking at Alex. At the same time, Alex received a notification that someone was trying to probe him but the system had blocked them.

"The Core rank? Surely there isn’t a need to hide your strength in a place like this, right?" Lucas asked with a smile. But Alex didn’t answer and just kept standing there, Lucas wasn’t offended by this and returned his attention to Maria.

"I already met the rest of your men who arrived earlier, and they said you were waiting for someone, which is why you would be arriving late. I believe this was who you were waiting for?" Lucas inquired.

"Yes, I apologise for the delay. This is Mr Chen, he isn’t a part of our Union but he agreed to help upon my request, he’s a..."

"A Saint mage,"

Before Maria could finish introducing Alex, Lucas cut her off and stated that Mr Chen was a Saint, just like him.

Maria didn’t show a surprised face, since the other party was also a Saint, it was only natural for him to be able to recognise another Saint.

"Indeed, he is a Saint mage. And since he was busy at the time we were supposed to come, I had no choice but to wait for him." Maria explained.

"I see, you did well getting his help. I won’t ask why he’s covering his face or why he’s hiding his real strength, we all have reasons for doing what we do.

Having an additional Saint will greatly increase our chances of winning. It’s even better since the sixth continent will be able to get more resources with two Saints on our side." Lucas voiced out.

Maria nodded in agreement before asking why things looked like they hadn’t made any move yet.

"We miscalculated the strength of the three-eyed spider lord’s army. The spider lord alone is already a formidable magic beast that can face off against two Saint rank mages in its true form.

What we didn’t expect was that there were a hundred slightly weaker Calamity-ranked spider soldiers under it and over four hundred Divine-ranked spider soldiers. I have lost count of those below the Divine rank.

Honestly, this is the largest force of magic beasts that I’ve seen in my years of living. If the spider lord should reach any continent with such an army, there won’t be anything that can stop them.

That’s why we have to do everything to kill it here." Lucas said with a sigh.

Maria’s eyes widened after hearing the number of spider soldiers under the three-eyed spider lord.

Even as a Sorcerer mage, she would need help to kill a single Calamity rank beast.

A hundred was simply a nightmare!

As for Alex, he was stunned to hear the number of magic beasts and then became excited.

A hundred Calamity rank beasts, he could finally test his spells at full strength!

"What’s the plan now?" Maria asked.

"Members from the seven continents will be holding a meeting later to think of a new strategy after our previous one failed. You’ll be coming along since you’re a Sorcerer rank mage, Mr Chen will come too." Lucas said before adding.

"The three-eyed spider lord is planning to invade all seven continents one after the other, so even though it’s currently closest to the third and sixth continents, the others have no choice but to fight with all they have too."

"If that’s the case, shouldn’t we ask for more help? The families and Magic Universities will surely be able to send a few more Saint and Sorcerer rank mages!" Maria exclaimed.

"Magic beasts are very intelligent creatures once they achieve a certain level of strength. From the movement of the three-eyed spider lord, we can’t be sure if this is a planned movement or a conspiracy of the Dark Union.

Which is why we can’t empty the continents of all their strength, some have to stay back in case something happens." Lucas said.

"I understand," Maria said before leaving the tent, Alex followed behind her.

"Mr Chen, could the third continent be up to something even at a time like this?" Lucas mumbled after he was left alone in the tent.

Meanwhile, Maria went to meet up with the mages from her Union Core Centre. Some of the elders and Union explorers of the Union Core Centre had already arrived a few weeks ago, while Maria stayed behind to wait for Alex.

After meeting up with her people, Maira got more information on the situation. It was just as dire as Lucas had said; they had launched a few attacks, but everything was useless as the spider soldiers were too many and powerful.

They were also more used to the environment than the mages and could easily hide since their bodies were covered in white hair that was similar to the snow.

Luckily, they had not sustained any casualties so far.

"This might take longer than expected," Maria said with a sigh.

’Take longer? I only have a week, I’ll have to take care of things fast.’ Alex thought to himself after hearing Maria’s words.

Since there was no sunlight, everywhere was always dull so even after several hours, one couldn’t tell what time it was unless they checked their watch or phones.

A meeting was soon called. All the Saint rank mages and Sorcerer rank mages gathered inside a large tent in the middle of the camp.

After taking a look around, Alex saw that aside from himself, there were seven Saint rank mages and 35 Sorcerer rank mages present.

It seems like each continent had provided one Saint and five Sorcerer rank mages for this operation.

Now with the addition of him, the sixth continent had two Saint rank mages.

"I see there are new faces amongst us," a man with dark skin and short black hair voiced out, his eyes moving between Alex’s mask and Maria’s face.

"They are with me, they arrived late due to some matters. Also, this is Mr Chen, a Saint rank mage from the sixth continent." Lucas announced, his eyes subtly glancing to a corner.

"Mr Chen? That’s a name from the third continent, how can he be from the sixth continent? Which Chen family are you from?"
