Chapter 190: Killing someone in public

Zoran and Freda stopped just before they could enter the arena after they heard Alex’s words."Emily, we need to look for Emily." Freda sobbed, she didn’t want her son to be in trouble while their daughter was still missing.

Alex didn’t turn to look at her before saying that he had already found Emily and had taken her to the hospital for treatment. He further disclosed what had happened to Emily and the people who had abducted her.

Everyone in the stadium was shocked after they listened to Alex’s words; the way they looked at the wounded girl on the ground immediately changed.

How could such a young girl be so heartless?

"What nonsense! My daughter would never do such a thing, you’re making all this up!" Malcolm roared and pointed angrily at Alex.

"Oh really? Then do you recognise this person?" Alex said before picking up the corpse of the Core mage by the leg and tossing it towards Malcolm.

By now, many men in black suits and glasses had gathered around the arena. They were bodyguards of the Malcolm family; some were mages, while the rest were normal people.

All of them, including Malcolm, looked at the corpse that had landed before them. Their expressions changed the next instant.

The lightning needles had only scorched the inside of the Core mage and some parts of its body; the face was still in recognisable condition, so they were able to identify him as one of the guards as well.

To make matters worse, Laura’s sister began to sob while still on the ground, saying that she didn’t mean to harm Emily and only wanted to scare her a bit.

Everyone present couldn’t help but show disgust toward her; how dare she try to lie through her actions? She kidnapped someone and ordered her guards to do horrible things to her, but claimed that she only wanted to scare her?

What a load of crap!

Everyone now understood why Alex was being so ruthless, even Mia was angry after hearing the sobs of the girl and wanted to smash her face with a spell.

Malcolm’s expression turned hard; he could already tell that everyone was on Alex’s side after they realised the truth, but he wasn’t going to allow his daughter to be treated like this just because of one mistake!

Clint didn’t give an order and just watched. This matter was now personal, and the Union didn’t want to get involved unless necessary.

Julius and Ellie had the same thought. For now, Julius wanted to see what Alex could do, he already had high expectations for him and planned to back him up if Malcolm tried anything funny; for now, he would just watch.

’I hope he doesn’t go too far with his revenge. After all, his sister wasn’t killed.’ Malcolm thought to himself.

After gritting his teeth for some seconds, Malcolm finally made a decision. He looked at Alex before saying.

"Fine, I admit my daughter did wrong, but it was only the carelessness of a child; you should know this as an adult.

A real man should learn to forgive mistakes; tell me what you want for compensation, and I’ll fulfil any request of your choice."

The eyes of many people narrowed when Malcolm said those words; they could instantly tell that he wasn’t sincerely apologising; heck, he didn’t even apologise and just offered compensation, which was to save his public image!

But they couldn’t interfere; the decision was for Alex to make, so they all turned to look at him, waiting for his response.

Alex was aware of Malcolm’s trick as well, trying to make him shut up with money.

How funny, what was money to Mr Chen?

The smile on Alex’s face grew and he opened his mouth.

"I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. If it concerns my family, then sorry, I’m not a real man.

And you want to know what I want for compensation? How about...

Her life!"

Immediately after his words, Alex’s eyes glowed with silver white light and a star pattern appeared above him.

"Telekinesis!"

His left hand moved at lightning speed and the injured girl was picked up from the ground by an invisible force.

Everyone "..."

Out of every possible outcome, they didn’t expect Alex to make such a move. All of his actions were too fast for even the present Archmages to follow with their eyes.

The next thing that they heard was a loud CRACK as Alex bent the other hand of the girl out of shape, the bone pierced through her flesh and blood gushed out.

The girl let out another agonising scream as she struggled effortlessly in the air.

Alex had originally wanted to snap her neck but he didn’t want to do that in front of his parents.

"You bastard, get him!" Malcolm shouted in rage. His heart had almost jumped out of his chest earlier when Alex said that he wanted his daughter’s life, but since he didn’t kill her and just broke her other hand, he felt that Alex was messing with him.

Malcolm, along with his numerous guards, charged at Alex together.

Mia and Selena took positions and were ready to defend Alex.

But before Malcolm and his guards could reach Alex, a few people landed in front of them and blocked their path.

They were Julius, Clint, and surprisingly, the Dean of the Dragonic Magic Academy.

Malcolm and his people instantly came to a stop when three powerful figures landed in front of them. Malcolm had a twisted expression as he stared at the three men.

"Are you going to defend that psychopath? Can’t you see what he’s doing?!" Malcolm asked through gritted teeth, he felt very powerless. Two of the three people in front of him were Archmages, and the other was a Master mage. What was he supposed to do when he was only an Expert mage?

"As much as I don’t quite support his current actions, he is a student of my academy and I can’t let you attack him." The Dean of Alex’s academy said while rubbing his long beard.

"Same thing here but I have eyes on him and plan to bring him to the Brandvel Magic University, so I can’t let you all go near him."

Clint didn’t have to say anything to Malcolm since the two seniors had already said enough; he turned to Alex instead.

"Kid, that’s enough. I understand you’re angry about what happened to your sister, but what you’re doing right now isn’t something we should tolerate, and the Union might need to detain you for questioning." Clint said with a hard expression.

It was fine if Alex only hurt the girl a bit or asked for compensation, but he was literally torturing her in public; such actions were not supported by the Union, but since the girl was at fault, Clint was willing to let it slide before things turned more complicated.

Alex looked back at Clint and then at his parents. Instead of replying to Clint, he told his parents the location of the hospital where Emily was receiving treatment.

His intentions were clear, he wanted them to leave.

"Alex," Zoran muttered, unwilling to leave Alex in such a situation.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine." Alex smiled; his smile wasn’t menacing or creepy, but a genuine, warm smile.

Zoran glanced at Mia and Selena who were standing in front of Alex, and then at the three men who were blocking Malcolm and his guards. He then nodded and left with Freda.

The stadium was silent as the two left. After they were gone, everyone’s attention returned to the situation in the arena.

"Are you ready to let the girl go now?" Clint asked Alex with a piercing look.

Alex didn’t respond, his attention was elsewhere. He was watching his parents with his senses.

After making sure that they had left the vicinity of the stadium, he finally replied to Clint.

"Stay out of this," Alex stated coldly while shooting Clint a fierce glare.

Clint’s body flinched slightly, and he stared at Alex in shock. Did he just get startled by this kid’s glare?

But before he could retort, another cracking sound rang out.

Everyone instinctively turned to look at the girl whom Alex had trapped with telekinesis; they thought that Alex had broken another of their bones.

However, their eyes widened in disbelief when they saw the motionless body of the girl with her head hanging backwards at an unnatural angle.

She was dead, Alex had snapped her neck!

’H-he, he killed her!’

The thought exploded in everyone’s mind. Mia and Selena were startled, not expecting Alex to kill someone, and in public, for that matter!

"Alex, what have you done?" Selena asked in a low whisper, still unable to believe that Alex had killed someone.

This finally drove Malcolm crazy, his body exploded with mana, and he shot toward Alex, but the old Dean appeared in front of him again.

Meanwhile, Clint’s eyes narrowed and he told Alex that he was under arrest for murder.

"And what makes you think that you’re fit to arrest me?" Alex muttered as his aura gradually changed, it was rising!
