Chapter 191: A crack

Just before Alex could release his aura as a Saint rank mage, a strange feeling swept through the stadium. Everyone felt this feeling, regardless of whether they were mages or ordinary people.Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked around. The feeling wasn’t something that they could describe, but it made them uncomfortable.

Alex was affected as well, he paused the aura that was about to explode from his body and spread out his senses instead.

Right at this moment, a gigantic phantom of a man in a black robe appeared in the airspace above Balon City.

Everyone’s attention was instantly drawn to the appearance of the phantom, and they all turned to look at it. Many people recognised the phantom upon seeing it.

They couldn’t see the man’s face but they recognised that robe, it was a member of the Dark Union!

A black robe of the Dark Union!

Alex’s eyes narrowed, he recognised this person as well. After all, he had been in charge of the underground base where the missing children had been held hostage before he rescued them.

He didn’t expect the Dark Union to appear in Balon City after they escaped long ago.

The phantom gazed down at Balon City, a pair of sharp eyes glaring from under the coverage of his hood.

"It’s more lively than I expected, very good. People of Balon City, prepare to receive a gift from the Dark Union.

This will be punishment for all of your sins against God! Let’s see if Mr Chen can save you this time." The phantom said in an explosive voice, his words sounded like running water and echoed across every corner of Balon City.

In a cave that was millions of miles away from Balon City, the black robe man, whose phantom was currently standing above Balon City, stood in front of a crystal orb with a mad expression on his face. Behind him were several yellow-robed members of the Dark Union.

One could feel his hatred for Mr Chen through his words. After all, he had operated his base in Balon City for years and was preparing to sacrifice Balon City to make contributions to the Dark Union. He had spent weeks kidnapping children so he could use their young blood for the ritual and bring destruction on Balon City.

But Mr Chen just had to appear out of nowhere when his preparations were almost complete, and ruined everything, even chasing them out.

Out of frustration and resentment, he had spent a heavy fortune to obtain the heart blood of a hundred-year-old void creature just so he could continue with the ritual.

He planned to not only destroy Balon City, but also take Mr Chen down as well!

After saying those words into the crystal orb, he turned to face the yellow robes behind him and ordered.

"Do it!"

Receiving his order, the yellow robes took out what seemed like communicators and shouted into them.

"Now!" All of them chorused at the same time.

Back in Balon City, after the black robe gave the order in the cave, a group of people who were sitting in an empty room all dropped similar-looking communication devices and stared at each other with resigned gazes.

Each of them brought out an item from their storage devices. One held a transparent heart with golden blood swirling inside, another held a cluster of shattered mirror fragments that floated as a single mirror, another held paper with ancient inscriptions on it, while the last person in the group held a mana core.

It was the mana core of a Divine rank magic beast!

After they brought out their items, the one holding the transparent heart began to draw symbols on the floor. He soon finished drawing the diagram and they all placed their items on it.

Immediately after they dropped their items, the diagram began to glow with weak red light that slowly became stronger and the items placed on it began to tremble.

Seeing this, the people sitting around the diagram held hands and began to release their mana into the diagram.

The red light of the diagram began glowing brighter at a faster speed, after a while, all of them took deep breaths and shouted.

"The descent of a God!"

Boom!

The diagram suddenly exploded with a powerful spinning red aura that swallowed all of them in an instant. It didn’t stop there, as it continued to grow bigger.

Meanwhile, while this was going on in a side of Balon City. The phantom in the sky above the city continued to ramble on about how he was going to destroy Balon City.

Alex watched with narrowed eyes. He had sensed something around earlier, but it was as if something was interfering with his senses since this phantom appeared.

This shocked him, after all, he was a Saint rank mage so what could interfere with his senses! He looked at the phantom. It had been a while since it happened, but nothing had happened yet.

’What is the Dark Union up to this time?’ Alex thought to himself, temporarily forgetting about Malcolm and the others around him.

At this moment.

Boom!

A powerful explosion set off in a part of Balon City and a gigantic swirling mass of red energy shot into the air like a blood tornado.

The location of the explosion was relatively far away from the stadium, yet they were able to hear it clearly, and even the shockwave swept across the stadium. The size of the red tornado was also so massive that it felt like it was spinning right in front of them.

"What is that?"

"Is it another magic beast?"

"It’s spinning this way!!"

Panicked voices rang through the stadium when they saw the red tornado sweeping up people and buildings in the distance, everything it swept up was instantly swallowed without a trace.

But it suddenly stopped as the tornado rose off the ground and rolled into a gigantic red energy ball. Next, it slowly faded as if everything was an illusion.

What was left was a gigantic tear in the sky with edges looking like floating mirror fragments.

Alex was shocked because it looked just like the void gate that appears whenever he used Void Walk.

"Oh no!"

A terrified voice sounded beside him at this moment, pulling Alex’s attention to look. Alex glanced and was stunned to see the Dean of Dragonic Magic Academy staring at the tear in the air with a horrified expression.

He didn’t need to ask what the tear was before the old man added.

"It’s, it’s a crack!"

Alex’s eyes gleamed when he heard that the tear in the sky was a crack, he remembered reading about it after he picked up a void rock while farming exp some weeks ago.

A crack appeared above a city; this was a disaster. The faces of Julius and the others were also grim as they stared at the crack, waiting for whatever was going to come out.

Seeing that the crack had formed, the phantom of the black robed man let out a crazed laugh before saying.

"Balon City shall be covered in blood, for the glory of the Dark Union!"

After saying that, it disappeared and only the crack occupied the airspace.
