Chapter 122: Candy or magic item?Alex didn’t use Void Walk after taking Clint and William for obvious reasons, same thing for Blink as well since it was a space spell and Mr Chen was known as a lightning mage.

His speed was extreme as he shuttled through the airspace of Balon City while dragging the two men along with him; they were like blurry shadows that flashed through the sky.

A few seconds later, Alex finally stopped and released his hold on the two men. Both of them were finally able to see properly, but their minds were currently disoriented. They placed both hands on their knees and bent their bodies slightly to recover before looking around.

In front of them was a villa with large windows and all of the rooms were lit up. Clint and William turned to look at Alex with a confused expression, wondering why he had brought them here.

"The remaining members of the Dark Union are here. Prepare to capture them," Alex said expressionlessly upon noticing their gazes.

The two men were shocked to hear this and their faces turned serious as they stared at the villa.

They didn’t know how Mr Chen was able to find out about the second base of the Dark Union, but they didn’t doubt him, considering that he had found the first one as well. The two of them got ready to fight.

The strength of the members of the Dark Union at the first base was pitifully weak, the stronger ones must be hiding here!

Alex took the first step, approaching the villa while the two men followed behind him.

But before they could reach the villa, figures appeared from the villa one after the other and landed in front of Alex; a distance of eleven meters between them, the figure in front was the little boy who was eating a lollipop while several adults in robes followed behind him.

"I didn’t expect us to have visitors. You must be Mr Chen, I’m not surprised that you managed to find this place." The little boy said while staring at Alex’s mask with a calm look in his eyes, he didn’t seem bothered that they had been discovered.



Alex stared back, still slightly surprised that the other party really looked like a little kid.

He wasn’t the only one, both Clint and William were also shocked to see the little kid and the many people behind him.

They realised that they couldn’t see through the rank of the little kid. Either he wasn’t a mage or he was stronger than them. As for the others, the one in black robes was a Master rank mage while the ones in yellow robes were at the Expert and Core mage ranks.

"Your Dark Union has caused too much trouble in Balon City. Turn yourselves in, or we’ll use force!" Clint regained his calm and voice out as he stepped forward, blazing red stars appearing around him.

"I think I’ll pass on that, branch leader. I’m just a kid and can’t go to prison yet, besides, do you have the ability to arrest me?" The kid moved his lollipop away and looked at Clint with a smile that reached his eyes.

The next moment, his body exploded with powerful mana that sent strong wind in all directions and caused everyone’s clothes to flutter wildly.

William "..."

Both of them were dumbstruck. This kid was an Archmage?!

How was that possible?!

The boy was pleased with their expressions and resumed eating his lollipop. he wasn’t able to see Mr Chen’s expression because of the latter’s mask, but that wasn’t too important.

What was important was that he couldn’t see through Mr Chen’s rank as well!

He was sure that he had felt the aura of an Archmage earlier before they left the underground base, that aura must definitely belong to Mr Chen. But why couldn’t he see through the other party now? The boy’s eyes landed on the white mask and his eyes instantly lit up.

That’s it, the mask must be a magic item that blocks probing from others!

Reaching this conclusion, the boy stopped eating his lollipop and said once more.

"How about this? You guys have caused us quite a lot of damage this time, let’s call it even and we can all go our separate ways."

William had a furious expression when he heard this, and Clint was the same. Both of them stared at the little kid who was smiling at them with sharp eyes, but didn’t dare to do anything since the other party was stronger than they were.

They could only turn to look at Mr Chen for help.

Alex noticed this, and he stepped forward and said.



"That won’t do, you have to come with us."

Immediately after saying that, Alex shot toward the kid at full speed.

A grin formed on the kid’s lips when he saw this and he dashed forward as well.

The two of them clashed just after moving for a few meters and the impact sent the other sliding back. They stared at Mr Chen and the kid with startled expressions. When did they move?

Alex threw a fist, but the kid had blocked it with his bare hand while still holding his lollipop in the other hand.

The ground under their feet had shattered due to their clash and turned into a small crater.

"Mr Chen, I heard that you rejected the invitation to join us but I’m still going to give you the opportunity again. Join us, you’ll receive benefits that even the HQ of the Union won’t offer you." The kid smiled as he stared at Alex’s mask.

Instead of responding, purple stars appeared around Alex and formed two star constellations instantly.

"Lightning bolt!" Alex called out.

Everyone except the kid was frightened by this scene. Master rank spell in less than a second? How could someone’s casting speed be so fast?!

The star constellations rose into the air and quickly expanded, and a terrifying and violent pressure enveloped the place as it prepared to strike down.

"I’ll take that as a No." The kid voiced out, the smile still on his face. The next moment, he threw the lollipop in his hand at the star constellations in the air.

Everyone saw the lollipop fly into the air before suddenly expanding into a multi coloured giant lollipop that blocked half of the star constellations.

At the same time, the lightning bolt struck down.

BAM!

The ferocious lightning bolt struck the candy, causing a thunderous sound that resembled a cannon blast. The lollipop shuddered but didn’t collapse.

It had successfully blocked the attack!



Alex "..."

Tf, so this thing was also a magic item and wasn’t just a candy?

Who the hell goes around eating a magic item like candy?!

Alex was vexed at this discovery, and he turned to Clint and William before saying.

"Go get the others."

The two men came back to their senses and immediately flew toward the people behind the kid.

"Not so fast!"

The figure in a black robe muttered as a soft glow illuminated from under his robe. Several dark figures suddenly dashed out from the darkness in the distance and charged at the two men.

They were dark beasts!

"Don’t try to fight, activate the spell book!" The kid called out as he dodged a fist from Alex and moved back.

Alex raised an eyebrow behind his mask.
