Chapter 263: Lightning heart. Shocking the battlefield.

"Kill him!"The remaining ninety-nine spider Generals all charged at Alex together.

Attacks of various kinds were shot at him. Binding silks, piercing silks, steaming hot liquids, poisonous greenish spits, and even physical attacks were thrown at him.

Some of the spider Generals had body parts that were harder than steel and sharper than blades, they used these body parts to attack Alex in an attempt to slice him up. Others could even fire solid sharp projectiles, trying to pierce Alex’s body.

Alex obviously wasn’t going to just stand there and allow these attacks to land on him. After all, these were Calamity rank magic beasts; their attacks could hurt him, and his indestructible robe was not high-level enough to stop the attacks.

He quickly moved, avoiding the attacks and wanting to leave their encirclement.

"You aren’t going anywhere!"

But the spider Generals weren’t going to watch him leave so easily. Just when he was about to leave the encirclement of the spiders, up to fifteen spider Generals with smaller forms appeared around him and attacked him with their sharp long legs.

It turned out that the spiders with smaller bodies were incredibly fast, even faster than Alex’s original speed as a Saint rank mage.

But Alex wasn’t easy to catch. Just before their attacks could land on Alex, he vanished.

He had used Void Walk and entered the white space before their attacks could touch him. He appeared over a hundred meters away from the spiders with his eyes glowing with black light and black lightning cracking around his body.

At the same time, black stars that cracked with lightning began to appear in the air in quick succession.

He was about to cast a spell!

"Don’t let him complete his casting!" A spider General shouted, and the others immediately reacted, dashing toward Alex at their fastest speed.

Even magic beasts knew that mages couldn’t afford to be interrupted while in the middle of casting a spell because interrupting them could cause a backlash from the stars which would attack their soul sea.

This human was simply asking for death by trying to cast a spell in front of them.

However, they had underestimated Alex’s casting speed; he wasn’t like other Saint rank mages.

The instant the first lightning element star appeared, thousands more appeared and instantly connected into a hundred Links that covered the sky for dozens of kilometres.

The region under the range of the star Links was instantly enveloped in the violent and oppressive pressure of Alex’s upgraded lightning element.

’Lightning heart!’ Alex didn’t call out the name of the spell this time like he usually did but simply thought of it.

The next moment, powerful black lightning rushed down from the star Links and fused into his body, transforming Alex into a being of lightning the next moment.

The spider Generals "..."

W-what nonsense was this? Was someone trying to set them up? How could a human cast a spell with so many stars so fast? It was just unacceptable!

They weren’t the only ones who were shocked by the scene of Alex casting a Saint rank spell in less than a second.

Back at the battlefield between the spider army and thousands of Union mages, everyone had witnessed the scene and felt the pressure from Alex’s star Links.

Although the distance between the two battlefields was a hundred kilometres apart, the star Links were just so enormous that one could easily see them from even a thousand kilometres away.

The sight of a hundred star Links forming in less than a second had caused both the army of spiders and soldiers to come to a momentary stop as everyone froze in shock.

The spider soldiers were intelligent creatures, thanks to their high rank, and equally understood that something like this was simply impossible.

Femi, Lucas, and the other Saints had expressions similar to those of someone who had seen a ghost. A single question constantly rang in everyone’s mind.

How?!!!

While they were horrified by the speed at which those star Links had formed, the mages with the lightning element felt that their elements were trash after feeling the pressure from Mr Chen’s star Links.

His element felt like a whole different deal compared to theirs, Moreover, Mr Chen’s lightning was black instead of purple!

"Mr Chen...is a monster!" One of the mages mumbled after a long time.

His words were like a wake-up call to the other mages. Femi had also recovered from his shock, and a smirk formed on his face.

He was right, there was something special about Mr Chen!

"Keep attacking, Mr Chen will definitely defeat the spider Generals and the spider lord. Let’s make sure to complete our part of the plan before he returns!" He voiced out, his voice travelling through the battlefield.

"Looks like I was wrong to doubt Mr Chen, he’s on a completely different level compared to us," Lucas said with a relieved smile before joining the battle again.

’I was right to bring Mr Chen!’ Maria thought from where she was controlling hundreds of thick vines to attack the spiders.

Back to Alex and the spider Generals.

Although they were shocked by the sight of him casting a Saint rank spell in less than a second, that didn’t mean that they weren’t still going to kill him.

The fifteen-plus spider Generals with smaller builds that were more adept at speed took the lead and quickly reached Alex’s position before attacking him with their blade-like limbs.

Some stabbed at his body while others slashed at him.

Btzzz!

Alex’s body scattered into countless lightning particles that moved to a different location before forming back into a single form.

After dodging their attacks, he punched out with all of his strength.

Alex didn’t attack with any of his existing spells like he usually did, as they wouldn’t have any effects on these creatures. He chose to fight with the might of a Saint while dealing lightning damage; this would be more effective than his physical strength.

But then again, Alex had underestimated the might of Calamity rank beasts too.

After throwing out the punch, black lightning shot out like a dragon and rushed toward one of the smaller spider Generals but before it could touch the spider, a large net of thick silk appeared in front of the spider.

Boom!

The lightning landed on the silk net and exploded, destroying the silk net almost instantly while the shockwave sent the spider General that Alex originally intended to attack flying away like a missile.

Alex turned to look where the silk net had come from and saw a spider General with the size of a small building and had the appearance of a tank in the corner. There were up to five spider Generals with a similar appearance.

At a glance, Alex could tell that they were spider Generals with high defensive abilities.

’Seems like I won’t be able to do much with these things around,’ Alex thought to himself before disappearing into lightning particles that rushed toward one of the tank-looking spider Generals.

"Careful, he has gotten stronger!" A spider General shouted.

Many of them attacked Alex, trying to halt his advance.

But in this form, Alex was extremely fast and easily dodged all of the attacks and spider Generals that appeared on his path.

He easily appeared beside a tank-looking spider General, his right fist already flying out.

"You can block attacks, right? Let’s see how well your body can handle this punch!"
