Chapter 127: Twin bracelets

"Fifty million Zen!" An excited female voice sounded from one of the VVIP booths, shocking everyone, so they all fell silent and looked in the direction of the booth.

The starting price was only ten million Zen but someone directly raised it so high on the first bid? Who would want to compete with such a person?

Even Alex was surprised at the amount that the lady called, as expected of people from a magic university, they were rich!

Without much surprise, the girl acquired the egg. No one else bothered to bid for it after she called such an extravagant amount. The egg was taken away while the next item was brought up.

It was a movement-type magic item, the wind boots. A magic item that would greatly increase the speed of its wearer when mana was poured into it, it was a handy item, especially for explorers.

Soon, another bidding war started and even those in the VIP booths joined in. Only the two VVIP booths did not participate.

After the boots were sold out, more items were brought up. Cubs of magic beasts, spell books, eggs, and magic items of various grades were brought. The most expensive one that Alex had seen since the start of the auction was the cub of a three-tailed flame tiger, and without much of a surprise, it was the same lady in the same booth as the Archmage who had bought it for a shocking bid of a hundred and fifty million Zen!

Time passed swiftly and an item that caught Alex’s attention finally appeared.

"The next item is a very rare kind that can’t even be found in most places in the capital. The twin trinity bracelets!" Silvia announced before proceeding to explain the magic items.

They were a pair of grade 3 magic items that had three uses. They could defend their wearer when they sensed danger, attack whatever threatened their wearer, and teleport their wearer to a safe location if the need called for it!

What was even better was that these items could be used by anyone as they didn’t need to be activated by others to work, they could react to the situations around their wearer like humans and could take whatever form that the wearer desired.



Alex’s eyes brightened upon hearing this. A grade 3 magic item, wasn’t that equivalent to having a Master rank mage bodyguard following you around all the time? And there were two of them, he could get them for his parents!

Alex looked at the twin trinity bracelets; their appearance was very stylish, with shining gems decorating them all over; it was very eye-catching and would draw attention even if it were a normal bracelet.

Thankfully, the bracelets could take other forms so Alex could take care of the issue of it drawing attention and potentially being recognised.

"The starting bid amount is 15 million Zen and an increase of a hundred thousand Zen for each new bid," Silvia announced.

The bidding war for the bracelets began, those in the private booths joined as well. The price for the bracelets soon rose from 15 million Zen to 30 million Zen. At this point, only those in the private booths were competing as everyone on the floor section had given up after it rose past 20 million Zen.

Alex didn’t join in yet and continued to observe. He paid attention to the other VVIP booth, neither the Archmage nor the two young people had any interest in purchasing these bracelets, but they discussed it after it appeared.

Alex noticed that the Archmage was also paying attention to his booth, but tried not to make it look obvious.

After minutes of competing, someone gave a bid of fifty million Zen for the two bracelets. No one raised the bid after that and it appeared that this person had successfully gotten the items.

Just then, Alex moved his plaque; even though no one could see this action of his.

"One hundred million Zen!" He voiced out.

Once again, the entire auction house fell into silence as everyone looked in the direction of Alex’s booth. The Archmage and the two young people with him were the same.

They presumed that the people in Alex’s booth were a very influential person and probably weren’t from a small place like Balon City. The fact that he hadn’t shown interest in any of the things that had appeared previously made them believe their thoughts even more.

So why did he make such a high bid for mere grade 3 magic items?

Silvia knew that it was Mr Chen in that booth as well, and she was equally surprised as to why Mr Chen would need these things. In her opinion, they were useless to Mr Chen.

’Could be that he wants to give them out.’ Silvia thought before asking if there was anyone else who wanted to offer a higher bid.

Obviously, no one wanted to offer a higher price for just grade 3 magic items no matter how useful they were.

Just when Silvia was about to announce the end of the bidding, a calm voice sounded.



"One hundred and fifty million Zen!"

Gasps could be heard throughout the auction, and the voice came from the second VVIP booth. Alex looked over, it was the Archmage. He raised an eyebrow, wondering what the other party was up to.

The two young people beside Archmage also looked at him with confusion. They could tell that he wasn’t interested in the items and was only going after them because the person in the other VVIP booth wanted them.

After a moment of silence, Alex increased the bid by another 50 million Zen, raising the price of the bracelets to two hundred million Zen.

He needed these bracelets for his parents!

A small smile appeared on the face of the Archmage, he relaxed on the couch he was sitting on before opening his mouth again.

"Two hundred and fifty million Zen,"

After the last bid from the Archmage, Alex bid again. This time, no one raised the bid and the bracelets were finally sold off for the price of three hundred million Zen.

His wealth had dropped significantly after purchasing just two items, it seems like he wasn’t as rich as he had imagined.

After the bracelets were sold out, another item came out again. It was a healing gel.

Alex had seen a healing gel before when Mia used it to heal the injury of a member of their group during his first raid mission.

The price for this healing gel starts at 200,000 Zen and an additional 1000 for every new bid.

It was time for those on the floor section to bid for the healing gel, which included Mia.

The price of the healing gel quickly reached 500,000 Zen. Those who were still bidding now were leaders of various explorer groups, and none of the people in the VIP booths joined in the bid.
