Chapter 116: First blood. Double kill!When Alex stepped out from the white space of the skill, he was right in front of the building where the members of the Dark Union were staying underground.

He glanced at the few people outside the building, all of whom were normal people, and they didn’t notice Alex’s appearance. Alex retracted his gaze and stopped paying attention to them; he wasn’t here for them anyway.

He silently activated the Void Walk skill and moved underground, the formation wasn’t able to stop him. Alex appeared in a large room that looked like a storage room. A young man who appeared to be in his early twenties just happened to walk into the room and immediately spotted Alex.

"Huh? Who are you? Why haven’t I seen you before?" The young man asked as he walked toward Alex.

Alex remained silent as he stared at the other party.

"Can’t you hear me? What are you doing here?" The young man continued to ask as he approached Alex.

But his steps suddenly stopped after getting a bit close, and a frightened look appeared on his face as he stared at the white mask on Alex’s face.

"Y-you are Mr Chen!" The young man exclaimed in horror after realising who Alex was.

Alex wasn’t surprised that the other party had recognised him. His eyes flashed with a cold glint and he dashed toward the other party with shocking speed.

Tak!

Alex slammed the side of his palm against the side of the other party’s head, knocking him out instantly.



The young man was about to scream, but Mr Chen had suddenly appeared beside him, and everywhere turned dark.

Watching the unconscious body of the young man on the ground, Alex struggled to decide if he should kill him or hand him over to the Union later.

People of the Dark Union were ruthless and evil, they had no issues with killing others and even turned people into dark beasts.

Alex recalled that they had tried to take his sister away before, and they didn’t just attempt to do this once; the thought of what they might do to his sister had they managed to capture her made his eyes turn cold as ice behind his mask.

Without another moment of hesitation, stars appeared around Alex.

A hole was instantly blasted through the body of the young man who was still unconscious, killing him instantly.

His ribcage had been shattered and his heart destroyed as a hole formed beneath him, blood splattered around but Alex’s expression didn’t change in the slightest as he looked at this scene.

Anyone who tried to harm his family had to pay the price!

After killing the young man, Alex left the storage room. He still remembered how the layout of the underground was after observing through the "Warden of the Rift" spell and knew where the members of the Dark Union were.

The next place that Alex went was a large chamber with a round pool in the middle. Strange writings and runes were imprinted on the walls and floor of this chamber with what Alex suspected was black ink.

As for the pool, it was filled with red coloured liquid that wasn’t as thick as blood but was too thick to be just coloured water. Alex could feel the chaotic mana coming from the pool and could see the formation that was drawn at the bottom of the pool.

Beside the pool stood three people in yellow robes with hoods covering their faces, two hefty men in normal clothes, and seven people who were chained up and looked battered.

Some of them were begging to be released while others were unconscious.

"Shut up, you should be grateful to us. We are allowing you to pay for your sins." One of the hefty men barked before pushing a shirtless man into the pool.

Splash!

The man fell into the pool while screaming. He was still tied up, so immediately he fell into the pool, his body sank, and his voice couldn’t be heard anymore.

The next moment, the formation at the bottom of the pool lit up and the mana inside the pool began to surge. Next, the liquid in the pool began to boil and form popping bubbles; it looked like a pool of boiling blood.

Alex "..."

From where he stood, Alex had an expression of disbelief under his mask as he watched the man inside the pool transform into a dark beast.

’So this was the ritual used to transform people into dark beasts.’ Alex thought to himself and silently apologised to the man inside the pool for not helping him.

After a while, the figure in the pool broke free from its restraints and jumped out.

Thud!

Its feet landed on the side of the pool, and its red eyes stared around without any emotion.

It was just like the other dark beasts that Alex had seen. Abnormally long arms, a hairy body, red eyes, and a twisted expression on its face, with the man’s formal appearance retained a bit.



The other people who were still in chains gasped in horror when they saw what the man had become, their eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.

"Hahaha, good, good. Now throw all of them in." One of the yellow-robed people laughed and ordered the two hefty men to toss the remaining six people into the pool.

Upon hearing this, those who were still conscious among the six began to beg fiercely and some even tried to escape.

But what could they do when they were chained up and two large men were guarding them? Besides, they were in an underground facility and the figures in yellow robes were all Core mages; it was impossible to escape.

The two hefty men easily grabbed the struggling people and dragged them toward the pool. Just before they could throw them in, a voice sounded beside them.

"Hold on a minute." A low voice sounded.

Everyone paused and looked over. They saw a robed figure standing not far away, a white mask blocking his face.

"Hmm, who are you?" one of the robed figures asked after observing Alex.

Alex didn’t respond and kept walking toward them.

"Can’t you speak? You must be new, but that’s not how the uniform of a black robe is supposed to be. Don’t interrupt our fun." Another of them waved their hand lazily, asking Alex to go away.

But Alex kept walking toward them.

At this moment, the last yellow robe seemed to have realised something and staggered backwards.

He stuttered a bit before managing to say.

"Is-is...isn’t that Mr Chen?"

Upon hearing this, the bodies of the other two yellow robes jerked and they quickly moved back.

"Attack him!" One of the yellow robes shouted, and a faint glow could be seen under his robe.

The eyes of the dark beast that had been standing in the corner flashed with a bright red light upon receiving the order and immediately charged toward Alex.

At the same time, two of the yellow robes also summoned their spells and wanted to attack.

"Are you crazy? Mr Chen is a high-level threat, we are supposed to run whenever we see him!" The last yellow robe shouted in panic and without waiting for his companions, turned around and fled.

But how would Alex allow him to escape?

His eyes flashed with a purple light as purple stars appeared around him.

"Lightning strike."

Two star patterns formed above Alex at a breakneck speed, and a thin purple lightning thread shot out toward the fleeing yellow robe.

The lightning struck the figure before he could even take five steps. A pained scream sounded, but it was short as the figure fell to the ground with smoke rising out from his body; he was dead.

At the same time, the dark beast reached Alex and attacked him with its long arms and sharp nails.



Alex was already familiar with the dark beasts, and he calmly grabbed the hand of the beast and pulled it toward him before slapping it across the face hard.

The slap was so hard that the neck of the beast snapped and dangled on the side, it was dead.

Silence. The chained figures, the two yellow robes, and the two hefty men stared at Alex with a pin-drop silence.

They were startled as everything had happened too fast, they didn’t even get to see all of his actions clearly.

Alex tossed the corpse of the dark beast to the side before returning his gaze to the people in front of him. Everyone flinched when they felt Alex’s gaze on them, and they stood frozen in place, not knowing what to do.

But their state of mind didn’t concern Alex.

Whoosh!

Alex disappeared and appeared beside the two yellow robes the next moment like a ghost, their eyes were unable to keep up with his speed.

The two yellow robes were spooked to see Alex suddenly appearing beside them, they didn’t even get the chance to move before they found themselves flying through the air.

"Go for a swim." The hoarse voice of Mr Chen sounded in their ears. The two of them were confused by what Alex meant and looked below them.

Below them was the large boiling pool!
