Chapter 75: Invite Mr Chen to the Dark UnionAlex left the Union building right after saying that, not giving the duo any chance to try persuading him.

Alex soon reached the alley where he usually changed into his robe and mask, returning the two items back to the system after making sure that no one was following him; only after changing back to his usual normal clothes did he start to head home.

Getting home, Alex met everyone in the living room, including his father; the man had returned early today.

Entering the house, Emily informed Alex that their mother had gotten a gift for him. The girl appeared so eager when she blurted this out, she had been suppressing the urge for a long time while waiting for Alex to come back and couldn’t wait to tell him.

Their mother quickly covered her mouth before she could disclose any more information, the girl had a big mouth.

Alex lifted an eyebrow. A gift, what gift? Alex’s curiosity was piqued but his mother didn’t say and told him that he would find out after dinner.

Later that evening after the family finished dinner, Alex was finally allowed to see what the gift was.

Turned out that his parents had decided to get him a communicator from the remaining money after they paid back the debt to that fatty. His mother had gotten the communicator while she was out with Emily earlier today.

Alex was handed the communicator afterwards. He looked at it and saw that it looked just like a phone from his previous world, just that the features were more advanced than a normal phone and the materials for making it were sturdier.



It would not be destroyed so easily.

Alex thanked his parents sincerely for getting him the communicator. The communicator had cost the sum of 30,000 Zen; his parents promised to pay the money back before sending the balance to him after he created an account.

Alex tried to make them forget about paying back but his parents wouldn’t listen.

"How can it be called a gift if it was bought with your money?"

Was what his mother had told him when he was trying to convince them to forget about repayment.

In the end, Alex agreed to their decision. He planned to give them more money in future anyway.

After that, everyone went to their rooms. Alex didn’t go to sleep or read as usual, he had to explore his new communicator.

He saw that a few contacts had been saved already, they belonged to his parents and Aunt Mia.

Alex also found out that he had been added to a group chat by someone. After taking a look, he saw that it was the Rising Wave group chat group and he had been added by Mia.

A lot of messages had already been sent by the other members, welcoming Alex to the group.

Alex didn’t immediately reply in the group chat and entered the internet first. Just like his previous world, this world also had the internet and countless social media platforms.

Alex opened a browser and typed the words "Dark Union."



He was going to search online since he couldn’t ask those around him!

Time passed swiftly. The night was cold in Balon City as the moon hung high above the sky but the streets of Balon City remained bright due to the rays from the street lamps along the roads.

Despite it being nighttime and the wind was chilling, countless people could still be seen outside, engaging in one activity or the other.

In a part of Balon City that was filled with tall and magnificent buildings, a tall building with dozens of floors stood amongst other similar-looking buildings.

No matter how one looked at it, this building didn’t look anything special and was just like the rest of the buildings in the area; it was easy to overlook it.

But beneath this building was an underground section that reached eleven floors!

In one of the underground floors, five figures could be seen standing in what seemed like an observation room, they stared down at what appeared to be a massive platform through a glass window.

This platform was dozens of meters wide and was divided into different segments by glass walls like prison cells; in each prison cell was a child of about 6 to 17 years old, and all of them were unconscious.

Back in the observation room, the five figures stared down at the platform in silence.

Three of them were dressed in different colours of robes that covered from their heads to their feet while the last two were dressed in normal clothes. They stood in a 1,2,2 formation, with the robed figures being in front while the last two, who were in normal clothes, stood at the back, their hands joined together and their bodies in a bowing posture.

They appeared nervous.

Hearing the voice of the figure in front, one of the two robed figures behind him instantly stepped forward and bowed before saying.



"It has been confirmed that Mr Chen isn’t related to the Dark Union and even intends to resolve the case of the recent kidnappings." The figure stated. This one was in a yellow robe, the same as the other robed figure who was standing beside him.

"Is that so? Any other information about this, Mr Chen?" The black-robed figure asked.

"Yes, he brought in a terror bear which we suspect that he had killed by himself. He is certainly stronger than a Master rank mage." The same figure in the yellow robe answered again.

"I see. If he really intends to go against us, it would be troublesome to face him without a red robe helping us. However, since he isn’t related to us and isn’t a member of the Union, then there’s hope of getting him to join us.

Shadow, I’ll leave this task to you. Make contact with Mr Chen and give him an offer that he cannot refuse." The black-robed figure voiced out.

The second person in the yellow robe, who hadn’t said anything until now, immediately went on one knee and accepted the mission. Apparently, he was called Shadow.

"What if he refuses and wants to fight?" The other yellow-robed figure asked after a moment of hesitation.

"Then we withdraw and wait for the appropriate time for the ritual. If we succeed with the plan and cause a bloodbath in Balon City, I would have made a great contribution to the Dark Union and be promoted to a red robe.

The Dark Union will start to pay attention to me and provide me with more resources, the same for you all who serve under me; who would care about Mr Chen by then? Killing him will be as easy as breathing!" the black-robed figure said with a fanatic tone, his hands spread wide in the air.

After calming down, he turned around, and a pair of sharp eyes stared from under the cover of his hood; his target was one of the two people standing at the back.

One was a tall, beautiful woman in an evening dress, while the other was a fat man. If Alex had been present, he would have recognised this person.

After all, he was the one who dared to ask for Emily as a form of repayment for his parents’ debt!
