Chapter 261: Saint rank mages in action.

Alex was shocked because this person had just cast a spell without calling out its name.Similarly, the other Sorcerer rank mages unleashed powerful spells of various elements on the incoming spider soldiers one after the other, each mage claiming the lives of thousands of spider soldiers with a single spell and causing massive destruction that caused snow to fly everywhere.

But Alex noticed something similar between all the spells they were casting: none of them were calling out the names of their spells.

’You can do that?’ Alex had never heard of a mage casting a spell without calling the name of the spell. It would be more accurate to say that he hadn’t seen anyone do it before.

Now that he thought about it, he had never seen anyone above the Archmage rank cast a spell before and everyone at and below the Archmage rank always called out the names of their spells while casting.

’Maybe it was something only those above the Archmage rank could do?’

He wasn’t sure and planned to find out later, for now, he had something important to deal with.

After the Sorcerer rank mages opened fire on the spider soldiers, the others at the Elder mage rank, Sage mage rank, and Grand Archmage rank also started to attack with their spells.

Flames filled the sky, lightning flew about, bodies of water the size of buildings were controlled to attack the spiders, and even summoned beasts that were as massive as the spiders were summoned.

It was utter chaos as the spiders retaliated violently; the spider Generals had also begun to attack. They shot powerful silk attacks that flew faster than sound from the top of the mountain range, these silk attacks would instantly melt anything they touched.

At this moment, Femi made his move.

His eyes released a burst of golden light as golden stars filled the sky one after the other, quickly covering the entire range of the battlefield.

Seeing this, Tive reacted quickly and shouted.

"Protect the Saint!"

Upon hearing his voice, the other Sorcerer mages from the first continent moved and stood around Femi, prepared to protect him from any attack and to make sure his casting wasn’t interrupted.

Meanwhile, the fight between the mages and spider soldiers was still ongoing.

Alex’s focus was currently on Femi, he was slightly surprised that the man had the light element. The other Saints had yet to join the fight and were currently watching as well.

After several seconds, thousands of golden stars covered the sky and cast a bright light on the ground like countless small suns.

Femi started connecting them at an extremely fast speed, his full aura as a Saint rank mage gushing out of his body without restraint.

But even with how fast he was connecting them, the process still took some time because of the sheer number of stars.

It took an entire minute for him to complete forming one hundred Link!

Remember that it had taken the Sorcerer rank mages dozens of seconds just to form a single Link; for Femi to form one hundred Links in a minute was a testament to how talented he was.

After finally forming the one hundred Links, the golden light covering Femi’s eyes grew more dazzling and at the same time, the faint humming of countless angelic voices rang out as golden light rained down from the golden Links in the sky and fell on every mage present...except the other Saints.

These golden lights transformed into transparent golden armour on the bodies of the mages, the armour protected every part of their bodies including their heads.

’A large-scale protective spell, Incredible.’ Alex thought to himself as he looked at the mages who were currently engaging the spider soldiers in close-range battle.

Thanks to Femi’s golden armour, they didn’t need to worry about getting hurt by anything below the Calamity beast rank, at least until Femi ran out of mana.

"Kill the beasts!" Tive shouted after Femi finished casting his spell. He and the Sorcerer rank mages who were previously guarding Femi went to join the other mages in battle.

Now that he was back to his senses, Femi turned to look at Alex.

"Mr Chen, you can leave everything here to us now." He said with a serious face.

Alex nodded without saying anything. He released his senses and quickly located the position of the three-eyed spider lord and its Generals.

After which he activated Void Walk and stepped into the white space without saying a word. From the perspective of Femi and the other Saints, Mr Chen had simply taken a step forward and disappeared.

They couldn’t even trace his aura.

The saints "..."

After being shocked for some time, Femi let out a relieved smile.

"Seems like he really does have a plan," he mumbled before turning his gaze to the battlefield in front of him.

Thanks to his amour, the mages could fight without fear of injuries for the time being but it would be difficult for them to attack with spells as the spiders were now attacking them up close.

Those with defensive spells and restrictive spells were currently holding back the wave of spiders to give those with more destructive spells the chance to cast their most powerful spells.

But with the five hundred plus Divine rank spider soldiers, it would be hard for the thousand plus mages to keep this up even with the help of the Sorcerer rank mages and Elder rank mages.

"You guys are up!" Femi looked at Lucas and the other Saints.

"Thought you would never say that!" The Saint from the third continent harrumphed before stepping into the air.

The aura of a Saint rank mage exploded from his body, sending a violent shockwave in all directions. His eyes turned blazing red as red stars began to appear around him, the temperature instantly increased for a radius of five kilometres around him and the snow in this range began to melt at a visible speed.

After two and a half minutes, he finally completed a hundred Links.

Each Link released an extremely bright spark of flames; these tiny sparks flew towards the Saint and formed into a fiery red sword with fire burning around its blade.

The Saint grabbed the sword by the hilt and shot towards the battlefield.

Swoosh!!

With a single swing, he chopped dozens of spider soldiers in half and accidentally cut open the mountain on which the spider soldiers were standing.

But the attack didn’t stop there as the flames on the sword spread out and burnt the corpse of the spider soldiers to ashes in an instant, even spreading to nearby spider soldiers.

"You Saints are always so troublesome!"

"Let’s kill him together!"

Two spider soldiers that were at the Divine rank said to each other before launching at the Saint of the third continent. They transformed into their true forms mid-launch.

Their true forms were different from each other; one was still the size of its human form and could stand upright like humans, but had several arms and legs, and its face was covered with eyes instead of normal human features.

As for the second one, it was basically a spider the size of a behemoth!
