Chapter 275: Mission from Mr Chen.

The situation was something beyond Alex, and since Mr Chen had personally offered to help, there was no reason for Alex to stay back when the capital was a couple of days’ long journey and he needed to get back to class before his one-week leave expired.Alex was also in agreement with this, he needed to return quickly so he could start searching for the items that were needed to fix Emily’s soul sea.

He already had a few people in mind whom he planned to ask once he returned to Brandvel City. After some discussion, they agreed that he would return the next day.

Hopefully, Emily would have woken up by then.

Nobody went to the shop that day; everyone decided to stay at home with Emily, and the workers would take care of the shop in their absence.

The next day came quickly, but Emily still hadn’t woken up.

Alex checked on her and was certain that she wasn’t in any form of danger, he estimated that she would wake up in a day or two.

Now that she had awakened and possessed a soul sea, even though she couldn’t absorb mana, the mana in her body could sustain her for a week at least so they didn’t have to worry about her starving while she was unconscious.

Alex finally bid his parents farewell and started his journey back to Brandvel City.

It was evening when Alex arrived at Brandvel City. He didn’t waste any time and went straight to the Union Core Centre.

He appeared directly in Maria’s office, already in his Mr Chen outfit.

Maria stood up upon seeing him, she wasn’t too surprised to see him since it had always been Mr Chen’s habit to randomly appear without warning.

"I’m in need of a few things," Alex said straight away.

Maria’s eyes gleamed when she heard this. Mr Chen needed something? She was interested!

"What do you need? Tell me, I’ll do everything I can to help you get them." She declared.

"I’m in need of a soul jewel, space element essence stone, and the void eye," Alex stated.

He didn’t include the chaos element essence stone for reasons only known to him.

Maria "..."

After listening to the items that Mr Chen mentioned, Maria’s face turned blank for a moment before turning into a weak smile.

’As expected of Mr Chen, I should have expected that the things that he’ll need help with won’t be ordinary.’

"Will getting them be a problem?" Alex asked after seeing the weak smile on Maria’s face, which was similar to the smile of someone in a hopeless situation.

"Not necessarily, Mr Chen. It’s just that the items that you need are extremely rare and not easy to find. We might not even find some of them on this continent." Maria explained.

’I guessed as much,’ Alex thought before asking Maria about the items that could be found.

"Honestly, with the connection of the Union in our country, I’ll probably only be able to get you the space element essence stone," Maria said before explaining that she would help Mr Chen send out a mission to all explorers to gather information regarding a space essence stone or directly bring the space essence stone.

Of course, the rewards for both missions would be very high to ensure that the explorers wouldn’t keep the space element essence stone for themselves.

"As for the soul jewel and void eye, I’ve only read about them in books and never actually seen them before.

The soul jewel is said to be guarded by a soul soldier and no one has ever managed to acquire one. The void eye isn’t any easier to find, and I only know that it looked like an eye-shaped void rock.

I assume that you’re already aware of all these and might even know more, so forgive me for explaining them again but that’s just how difficult they are to find." Maria said with a sigh.

’I promise you that I know nothing about them, but I accept your apology,’ Alex thought to himself, secretly shocked to know that even a mage like Maria, who was only one rank away from becoming a Saint, had never seen those two items before.

’This is really going to be difficult, but I won’t give up!’

"About the space element essence stone,"

Alex and Maria spent the rest of the time discussing the mission to find the space element essence stone. Alex had to agree that Maria’s suggestion was the fastest way they could find one and was glad that he had come to her.

After some time, they finally agreed on the rewards for both missions.

Any useful information regarding a space element essence stone would have a reward of a million Zen.

Maria had suggested that the payment would only be made after the information was verified, this was to prevent anyone from coming in to spout nonsense just to get some money.

While directly submitting a space element essence stone would earn the explorer one hundred billion Zen!

Although the space element essence stone was extremely rare and valuable too, its marked price was only around ten to fifty billion Zen, so a hundred billion was definitely enough to make anyone who found it abandon the thought of keeping it.

After they finished discussing the rewards for the mission, Alex handed Maria one of his Union cards. He didn’t know how much was inside, but each of his Union cards had over a hundred billion Zen, so it really didn’t matter.

Alex left after that.

The next day, the whole of Brandvel City exploded into an uproar as lone explorers and explorer groups rushed out of the city in large numbers.

The reason? A mission has been issued by the Union Core Centre to find a space element essence or bring any valuable news about one; the rewards for either mission were enough to set some people up for life.

And the owner of the mission was none other than Mr Chen!

Who didn’t know Mr Chen in Brandvel City? His great performance in Balon City had long spread throughout the country and everyone wanted a chance to meet him.

If they could help Mr Chen this time, wouldn’t that help them to get closer to him?

"Mr Chen is searching for a space element essence stone?" Ellie asked with a surprised look on her face.

"Yes, bringing the essence stone has a reward of one hundred billion Zen and any valuable information will be rewarded with a million Zen!" Julius said with excitement, he planned to participate in this mission and help Mr Chen look for the space element essence stone as well.

"But he has the lightning element, why would he want a space element essence stone?" Ellie asked again.

"Who knows? Maybe he wants to use it for a magic item or gift it to someone, nobody can really guess what an expert like Mr Chen is thinking.

"Mr Chen is looking for a space element essence stone? Now that’s surprising for a lightning mage." A calm voice sounded from a figure in a long white robe.

"Should we use this opportunity to kill him or try inviting him again?" Another figure in a white robe asked while staring at the creature in the distance.

The creature that resembled a two-meter-tall human with a translucent form appeared in front of the two of them with a flicker of silver white light.

It was a space spirit!
