Chapter 76: Blue venom. Preparing for the raidRealising that he was being stared at, the fatty flinched and quickly lowered his gaze, staring at his foot.

His body trembled slightly, a clear sign of nervousness.

"What about the girl I ask you to bring?" The black-robed figure asked coldly. The fatty’s body began to tremble even more upon hearing the question.

"I-I tried getting her since her parents couldn’t pay back but they asked for some more time and suddenly came with the money not long after." The fatty explained with a quivering voice.

"So you mean you can’t get her anymore?" The other party voiced out in a sinister whisper.

The fatty immediately stopped breathing as his face turned deathly pale, he felt the temperature around him dropping at an alarming rate.

He suddenly dropped to his knees and slammed his forehead on the ground.

"Please forgive me, your grace. I promise to get her as quickly as possible, I won’t fail again!" He begged loudly.

"You were accepted as a disciple because we thought you would be useful but you have been unable to complete such a simple task, get a girl from a poor family.

How many chances do I have to give you? I rather not have useless people like you around, trash like you only know how to cause trouble." The black-robed figure said with an emotionless tone as he turned around and stared at the glass window, his back facing the others.



Hearing this, the fatty raised his head. His forehead was currently swollen with blood streaming out of it, but he didn’t seem to mind; his face was coloured with despair as he stared at the back of the black-robed person.

"No, your grace! Please, give me another chance. I promise not to disappoint you again, please!" The fatty instantly burst into tears and he pleaded with all his strength.

The others remained indifferent and only watched the show.

"You’ve had enough chances. Take him away and put him into the transformation pool, he will be more useful as a dark beast instead of being a human." The black-robed figure ordered without turning around.

A look of horror immediately appeared on the face of the fatty upon hearing the words of the figure in front.

"No, please. Don’t throw me into the pool, I promise to succeed this time, I swear! Please, just one more chance!"

The fatty tried to move forward but was stopped by the yellow-robed person whose name was Shadow.

The latter grabbed the fatty and directly picked him up from the ground before taking him away, the voice of the fatty continued to sound even after he was dragged out of the observation room.

The remaining three people in the observation room remained indifferent. The beautiful woman in the evening dress even had a small smile on her face as she stared at the black-robed figure.

"Blue venom." The voice of the black-robed figure suddenly sounded.

"Yes, your grace!" The sexy woman at the back immediately went on one knee, with her head lowered Respectfully. Due to the way she was kneeling, her dress had lifted at an inappropriate corner and caused her underwear to become visible but she didn’t seem to care as she waited for the words of her superior.

"That fat pig has failed to complete such a simple mission. I’ll let you handle it instead, capture the girl and bring her here. I heard she’s being protected by Arthur under the orders of an expert. Her blood should be able to strengthen the ritual.

"I understand, I’ll complete my mission without fail." The woman smiled sweetly as she replied.

The black-robed figure didn’t say anything else and returned his focus to the children who were being held on the platform; silence returned to the observatory room.



A storm was brewing beneath Balon City and many were unaware.

Time passed quickly and morning came without a morning.

Alex had spent the entire night searching for information about the Dark Union on the internet but he had found little to nothing!

"Just what is this Dark Union? Information about it can’t even be found online, why is the Union keeping things about them a secret?" Alex thought to himself as he got up and stretched his body. This had become a habit, and he did it without realising it.

"I guess I’ll have to postpone my research for now," Alex mumbled to himself as he stared at the message notification that just popped up on the screen of his phone.

It was an announcement sent to the Rising Wave group by Aunt Mia, she was asking everyone to get ready and be at the group base in two hours.

’Shiish, do they have to leave so early for a raid?’ Alex wondered but he still went to get ready before heading down.

Alex was currently wearing a black button-down shirt and black pants. The sleeves of his shirt were folded up to his forehead and the first two buttons of the shirt were left undone, revealing a bit of the fair skin of his chest.

Coupled with his handsome appearance, Alex looked quite dashing and could easily be mistaken for a celebrity.

Alex came down to the living room sometime later; he found his mother and Emily cleaning together.

"Good morning, Mom, Emily." Alex smiled warmly at the two as he approached them.

"Oh, good morning son. Already set to go out?" His mother looked at him with a dazed look.

"Good morning, big brother. You look like a model, are you going on a date?" Emily voiced out, her big round eyes blinking at Alex with a mischievous smile on her face.

Alex’s lips twitched, she walked toward Alex and ruffled her hair.

"Teasing your big brother now? Where did you learn such habits?" Alex asked in a playful scolding.

Emily giggled and allowed Alex to mess up her hair, she wasn’t going anywhere today anyway and could fix it later.



"Go wait at the table, I’ll make something for you real quick before you go." Their mother voiced out before walking to the kitchen to fix up breakfast for Alex.

"I’ll be at your house soon, be ready by then."

Alex glanced at the message before putting it back in his pocket, he didn’t reply.

"Foods ready, who’s hungry!" Their mother’s voice sounded at this moment as she came out from the kitchen with two plates of food on her palms.

A satisfied smile plastered her face as she looked at the shining eyes of her kids, it was very fulfilling to see.
