124: Chapter 124 Access Control

The air on the third basement floor was thick with the scent of rust.

Sarah flicked the blood off her short blade and squatted beside Drake's corpse, her slender fingers searching through the pockets of his tactical vest. This guy had died a rather pathetic death; he was originally the most arrogant security chief on this island, but in the end, he couldn't even see Sarah's shadow before his neck was twisted into a pretzel.

“Boss, I caught a big fish.” Sarah pulled a dark red metal card from Drake's inner pocket.

“What is it?”

“An access card.” Sarah held the card against the communicator on her wrist to scan it.

Chen Feng paused for two seconds on his end, and the system's analysis progress bar instantly filled up.

“The clearance level is quite high.” Chen Feng looked at the red box popping up on the system screen, “Cardholder... Drake, Eden Island Security Captain. This must be Epstein's head of private soldiers. This card can lock down all the alloy gates underground with one click, including the cells holding the victims.”

“I suddenly have a new idea. Sarah, come back first, and then lock down all the cells.”

“Understood.”

Sarah avoided the surveillance again, vanishing into the darkness like a ghost.

Meanwhile, inside the villa suite.

Chen Feng took a test tube out of the system space. The liquid inside the tube presented an eerie pale purple color, flowing slowly under the light as if it were alive.

[T-004 Virus Prototype]

Chen Feng stared at the vial of medicine, calculating in his heart. That old bastard Epstein thought he could run rampant just because he held a list of the powerful and influential, and thought he could sleep soundly after buying a few BOWs. He simply didn't understand that in front of Umbrella, the defense system he was so proud of was like it was made of paper.

“Click.”

The floor-to-ceiling window of the terrace was pushed open, bringing in a salty, damp sea breeze.

Sarah flipped into the room, locking the window behind her, and casually removed the blood-stained gas mask. Her blonde hair was slightly messy, and a few drops of blood were splattered on her originally fair face. Instead of looking disheveled, she possessed a breathtaking sense of violent beauty.

“So, what’s the new idea?”

Chen Feng placed the vial of pale purple virus prototype in her palm and smiled: “Go, pour this into the island's main water tower. That place is on the back mountain, and the security is looser than here. With your speed, you can make the round trip in ten minutes.”

Sarah looked down at the test tube, then up at Chen Feng, her lip twitching: “Chen, if I pour this in, how many living people will be left on this island by dawn tomorrow?”

“Living people? Are there any 'people' on this island?” Chen Feng stood up, walked to Sarah, and wiped the blood off her cheek. “There are only beasts and caged lambs here.”

“Fine, you're the boss, you call the shots.” Sarah stuffed the test tube into her tactical belt, then suddenly leaned in half a step and gave Chen Feng a quick peck on the cheek.

“That's an advance on my overtime pay.” Sarah arched an eyebrow, and before Chen Feng could react, she turned and jumped off the terrace again.

Chen Feng touched his cheek and shook his head helplessly: “This girl, when did she learn this trick?”

He sat back down on the sofa and pulled up the system panel.

Now, the entire Eden Island had become a giant laboratory in his eyes.

On the system screen, the progress bar for the mission 'The Collapse of Eden' had already jumped to 35%.

At this moment, inside the central villa on the island.

Epstein was holding a glass of expensive red wine, boasting to Prince Andrew about the new Tyrant he had purchased.

“Your Highness, you must see that fellow's power tomorrow. It can tear apart an armored vehicle with its bare hands, and it's absolutely obedient.” Epstein grinned from ear to ear, “That young man Chen Feng might be a bit arrogant, but his goods are indeed world-class.”

Prince Andrew rubbed his still-bruised wrist, his expression gloomy: “I don't care how strong it is, I just want to see that beautiful secretary kneeling before me begging for mercy. Epstein, you promised me.”

“Rest assured, Your Highness. On this island, there is nothing that money and power cannot handle.”

The two old men laughed together, their laughter echoing in the empty hall, sounding particularly piercing.

They completely failed to notice a faint, almost imperceptible fragrance wafting from the ventilation duct in the corner.

That was the scent of the virus prototype being atomized through the humidifier after circulating through the water system.

Beside the water tower on the back mountain.

Sarah watched the last drop of purple liquid merge into the massive reservoir and casually crushed the empty test tube into powder.

She stood on the high ground, overlooking the brightly lit villa district below. It looked like a brilliant pearl on the Caribbean Sea, but from this moment on, it was more like a massive graveyard.

“Sweet dreams, you animals.”

Sarah pressed her earpiece switch: “Chen, job's done. Next, is it time to let those pets out for some fresh air?”

“No rush.” Chen Feng stared at the screen, watching a noblewoman in the surveillance footage who was touching up her makeup in front of a mirror suddenly begin to cough violently, as eerie blue-purple lines surfaced on her skin.

Just then, inside the security control room beneath the villa.

A mercenary on duty suddenly felt an itch on the back of his neck. He scratched it and found his fingernails filled with grayish-white dead skin.

“Hey, do you think... the water tastes a bit sweet today?” he turned and asked his companion.

His companion didn't answer, but was slumped over the desk, his body twitching at an extremely unnatural frequency.

“Hey? What's wrong with you?”

He walked over and patted his companion's shoulder.

The next second, his companion snapped his head around. His originally blue eyes had turned completely into a murky grayish-white, and his mouth split open at an exaggerated angle, a large amount of saliva dripping onto the keyboard from his chin.

“Roar—!”

A roar that did not belong to a human at all instantly shattered the dead silence of the monitoring room.
