282: Chapter 282 Crunchy, Silicon-based Flavor
The footage on the screen was extremely bloody.
No, there wasn't even any blood. This was a one-sided feeding frenzy.
A 2nd Generation Symbiote Tyrant was surrounded by three Silicon-Based Weapons. The Vibration Blades on their hands buzzed at high speed, stabbing straight through the Tyrant's chest.
If it had been the old T-801, its core would have been ruined by this blow.
But this Tyrant didn't even wobble.
The black armor sliced open on its chest instantly liquefied, biting down hard on the Vibration Blades like a living swamp.
Immediately after, the Tyrant backhanded and grabbed the head of one of the Silicon-Based Weapons.
Black and red tentacles surged wildly along its arm, stabbing directly into the glowing red crystal in the Silicon-Based Weapon's head.
Crack.
The crystal shattered. The energy inside the Silicon-Based Weapon was instantly drained, and its once-hard exoskeleton turned into a pile of grayish-white powder.
The puncture wound on the Tyrant's chest healed at a visible rate, and its body size even swelled by a whole margin.
"Boss, the energy cores of these Silicon-Based Lifeforms are extremely pure," Hunk's voice came through the communicator. "The armor's devour-and-conversion rate has reached ninety percent. They are helping us upgrade."
"Eat them all," Chen Feng said casually as he watched the screen. "Don't let them go to waste."
"Understood."
The one thousand two hundred Tyrants completely cast off their limiters. No longer employing any tactics, they lunged forward using their most primal instincts.
When the Silicon-Based Weapons' High-Frequency Blades sliced open their bodies, they simply used their tentacles to drain them dry.
It was a war of attrition, but Umbrella's side only grew more numerous and stronger as the battle raged on.
Captain Ivanov slumped in his chair, completely numb as he watched the footage on the screen.
He had been in the navy for twenty years, but he had never seen this style of combat.
How was this an army? They were clearly a swarm of locusts reincarnated from starved ghosts!
Sarah glanced at him but said nothing. The black patterns on her right arm had already faded, and the suppression of the mental field was weakening.
Because Mia had made her move.
In the center of the holographic screen, Mia had already rushed in front of the blue crystal that was a hundred meters in diameter.
"Get lost!"
Mia roared, and the giant battleaxe mutated from her right arm, carrying violent black and red energy, hacked savagely into the surface of the crystal.
Boom!
A blinding blue light exploded in the deep sea.
A massive crack split open on the surface of the crystal.
A materialized mental shockwave surged wildly out of the crack. This force was so powerful that even the surrounding seawater experienced a momentary vacuum.
The light tubes in the submarine's command room shattered one after another with loud bangs.
Zero's holographic projection flickered violently, and its synthesized voice was laced with static: "Warning! Mental field peak has breached the threshold..."
"Shut up," Chen Feng said, tapping the table as he watched the show.
On the screen, Mia was hit head-on by the mental shockwave.
Yet she didn't take even half a step back.
"So noisy! I told you to shut up!"
Mia was thoroughly enraged. She violently thrust both hands into the crack of the crystal, and the Blacklight Virus throughout her body instantly boiled, transforming into countless thick tentacles that gripped both sides of the crack tightly.
"Open up!"
Accompanied by Mia's roar, she pried the indestructible alien core crystal in half with sheer physical strength.
The contents inside were finally revealed.
It was a curled-up, translucent creature emitting a dazzling blue light. It had no fixed shape, resembling a massive luminous body composed of pure energy and neurons.
This was the brain of this living warship.
Seeing its outer shell breached, the luminous body trembled violently, emitting an extremely sharp wail.
It attempted to muster its remaining strength to flee.
But Mia gave it no chance whatsoever.
"Gummy candy with filling!"
Mia cheered and pounced directly onto it.
She opened her mouth, and black-and-red tentacles erupted from her body, instantly wrapping tightly around the massive luminous body.
Then, she took a bite.
Crunch.
The crisp sound of chewing was transmitted back to the submarine via the bone-conduction microphone.
The luminous body struggled violently, splashing blue energy fluid everywhere. But Mia's devouring speed was simply too fast; the moment that energy touched her tentacles, it was instantly absorbed.
"Delicious! Boss! This one even bursts with juice!"
Mia shouted excitedly in the communication channel while gulping it down.
Chen Feng nodded with satisfaction as he watched the rapidly deflating luminous body on the screen.
"Eat slowly, don't choke," Chen Feng said. "Leave its memory module."
"Got it!"
In just three short minutes.
That core lifeform, which represented the pinnacle of alien carbon-silicon symbiotic technology, was eaten by Mia until not even a speck of dust remained.
She let out a loud burp, clutching a palm-sized, deep blue crystal covered in intricate patterns in her hand.
"Boss, I pulled out the core." Mia waved the crystal in front of the camera. "This piece is too hard to bite."
"Bring it back," Chen Feng ordered.
With the core consumed, the blue fluorescence inside the entire wreckage rapidly dimmed.
Those Silicon-Based Weapons still locked in a death match with the Tyrants instantly froze in place like toys with their power cords pulled, the red glow in their eyes completely extinguished.
"Hunk," Chen Feng spoke.
"Present."
"Clean up the battlefield. Strip away all the wreckage of the Silicon-Based Weapons and the Bio-Armor of this ship—everything that can be dismantled. For anything that can't fit," Chen Feng pointed at the screen, "have the Tyrants eat them on the spot. Don't leave a single piece of trash for the Americans."
"Understood."
"Zero," Chen Feng turned his head to look at the newly stabilized holographic projection.
"I am here, sir."
"Scan that crystal."
A blue light shot out from the submarine, scanning the deep blue crystal in Mia's hand.
Zero's data streams refreshed frantically.
"Sir," Zero's voice carried a rare trace of fluctuation, "the preliminary analysis is complete. This is the 'black box' and 'main console' of this interstellar warship."
"What's inside?" Chen Feng asked.
"The complete blueprint of the Carbon-Silicon Fusion Engine, and..." Zero paused for a moment, "a star map."
"A star map?" Chen Feng narrowed his eyes.
"Yes. The coordinates point to the Alpha Centauri, 4.2 light-years away from Earth. That is their home planet," Zero replied.
Chen Feng's fingers lightly tapped on the table.
"Aliens. A star map."
"This game of chess is getting bigger and bigger."
"Boss," Sarah walked over and handed him a tablet. "Sonar shows a massive fleet assembling on the surface. It's the U Federation's Seventh Fleet; they have deployed deep-sea probes."
"They got here fast," Chen Feng sneered. "Captain Ivanov."
"Here!" The Russian captain immediately stood at attention.
"Surface," Chen Feng stood up. "Let's go say hello to our American friends."
Captain Ivanov's legs went weak. "Mr. Chen, that's the Seventh Fleet up there! We are in a Russian submarine! If they discover us, it will absolutely trigger World War III!" "Let it trigger then," Chen Feng said without even batting an eye. "Do as I say. Or I'll have Mia eat you as an after-dinner dessert right now."
Captain Ivanov shuddered all over, scrambling to the control console and roaring at the top of his lungs, "Blow the ballast tanks! Emergency surface!"
The massive Typhoon-Class Nuclear Submarine turned its bow in the deep sea, surging rapidly toward the surface.
"Boss, cleanup complete," Hunk's voice came through. "The Tyrant swarm has devoured all the Bio-Armor that could be dismantled, reaching their maximum carrying capacity. We are heading up along with the submarine."
"Well done," Chen Feng adjusted the collar of his trench coat.
On the surface, wild winds howled and huge waves rolled.
The U Federation Seventh Fleet's "Reagan" carrier strike group was waiting in full battle array. Four destroyers and two cruisers surrounded the sea area, sealing it off completely. Dozens of anti-submarine helicopters hovered in the air, their searchlights illuminating the sea surface as bright as day.
"Report, Commander! Sonar shows a massive target surfacing at high speed! It's extremely fast!"
Vice Admiral MacArthur, Commander of the Seventh Fleet, stared intently at the radar screen and barked out orders: "All naval guns charge! Anti-submarine torpedoes ready! No matter what is down there, the moment it shows its head, blow it to pieces!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth.
Boom!
The sea surface violently exploded, sending up a massive mountain of water.
A 170-meter-long black steel behemoth broke through the water, kicking up a sky full of spray, and came to a steady halt right in the center of the carrier strike group.
"Fuck! It's a Russian Typhoon-Class Nuclear Submarine!" a destroyer captain cursed in the communication channel.
MacArthur grabbed the all-band broadcast microphone: "Submarine ahead, listen up! You have entered the U Federation military blockade zone! Shut down your propulsion systems immediately and prepare for boarding inspection! Otherwise, we will sink you! Repeat—"
Before he could finish his sentence, all the screens in the command room suddenly flickered frantically.
Immediately after, a deep blue geometric holographic image forcibly squeezed out the radar screen.
"Communication hijacking successful. Sir, you may speak," Zero's synthesized voice echoed through the broadcasts of every warship in the US fleet.
MacArthur froze.
The next second, a young, lazy Asian male voice spread throughout the entire Seventh Fleet.
"General MacArthur, it's the middle of the night. No need to be so hot-headed."
Chen Feng stood on the submarine's conning tower, letting the cold sea breeze whip against his trench coat. Sarah held open a black Umbrella, shielding him from above. Mia squatted nearby, still playing with the deep blue alien core crystal in her hands.
"Who are you?!" MacArthur roared.
"Umbrella Corporation, Chen Feng."
The moment that name was uttered, the US command room instantly fell dead silent.
President Clark had issued a top-secret directive: if they encountered anyone from Umbrella, they must absolutely not act rashly.
"Mr. Chen..." MacArthur gritted his teeth, forcing down his anger. "This is a U Federation military operations zone. Appearing here in a Russian nuclear submarine, are you trying to provoke a war?"
"I'm just here on vacation, and harvesting some seafood along the way," Chen Feng smiled. "Why, is the Pacific Ocean your backyard too?"
"There is a high-value target we are tracking down below! Please leave immediately!"
"Oh, you mean that dark lump of iron," Chen Feng patted the submarine's railing. "My apologies, but my people have already eaten it all."
"Bullshit!" MacArthur was thoroughly enraged. "Fire! Blow this submarine up!"
"General, I advise you to look around," Chen Feng interrupted him.
MacArthur whipped his head around to look out the porthole.
On the sea surface, the water began to boil violently.
One black figure after another emerged from beneath the water.
One thousand two hundred 2nd Generation Symbiote Tyrants.
They had devoured a massive amount of alien silicon-based Bio-Armor, and their sizes had ballooned to over four meters tall. The surface of their Blacklight armor was covered in a layer of deep blue silicon-based crystals, and the propulsion vents on their backs spewed high-pressure water streams, allowing them to float steadily on the sea surface.
One thousand two hundred highly oppressive Super Bio-Weapons, like a cluster of black reefs, counter-surrounded the warships of the Seventh Fleet.
When the searchlights hit the Tyrants, even the light itself seemed to be swallowed by that layer of Blacklight armor.
"W-What... What kind of monsters are these..." A US sailor slumped onto the deck in sheer terror, his rifle clattering to the floor.
MacArthur's hand holding the microphone was trembling. He could feel that if he dared to order fire, these monsters would absolutely tear his destroyers to shreds within ten seconds.
"General MacArthur," Chen Feng's voice rang out again, his tone mocking. "Send my regards to President Clark. Tell him I've accepted the gift from Antarctica. And I'm taking this one from the Pacific Ocean as well."
Chen Feng turned around and walked toward the hatch.
"Zero, release the communication hijack. Captain Ivanov, head back."
"Y-Yes! Yes, Boss!" Ivanov now called him Boss even more naturally than he did his own president.
Under the terrified gaze of thousands of US soldiers in the Seventh Fleet,
the massive nuclear submarine slowly turned around. The one thousand two hundred Super Tyrants, like the most loyal guards, escorted the submarine as it sailed grandly into the dark depths of the Pacific Ocean.
No one dared to fire a single shot.
