260: Chapter 260 No Choice
The teeth-grinding sound of bones shattering echoed through the corridor, mixed with a few indistinct, cheerful hums.
This sound, mixed with the distant roars of G-Creature mutants, made Yuri, the head of the Russian Federation Intelligence Agency, feel sick to his stomach, his face turning deathly pale.
He stared at the electronic tablet thrown onto his face, the screen's glowing blue light illuminating him.
"I... I'll sign."
Yuri tremblingly raised his blood-stained hand and heavily pressed his fingerprint onto the agreement.
"Ding."
With a soft sound, the agreement took effect.
Chen Feng bent down to pick up the tablet, didn't even glance at it, and tossed it to Hunk behind him.
"Red Queen, get to work."
"Understood, Boss." In the holographic projection, the little girl in the red dress flickered. "Currently taking over the Russian Federation's overseas intelligence network. Seventy-three secret accounts have been locked. The funds are undergoing multiple obfuscation and laundering processes. It is estimated that they will all be transferred to the Umbrella overseas trust in fifteen minutes."
Yuri collapsed to the floor.
The underground empire he had painstakingly built for most of his life had been nonchalantly uprooted by the young man before him in just these few short minutes.
"Boss Chen, I have nothing left now." Yuri's voice was hoarse. "Can you let me go now?"
"Go?"
Chen Feng pulled over an overturned chair, wiped it with a handkerchief before sitting down, and crossed his legs.
"Director Yuri, do you have some misunderstanding about our cooperation? You are now a high-quality asset of Umbrella; how could I bear to let you go?"
Yuri looked up: "What do you mean? You just said that if I signed, you would take me out of here!"
"I said I would take you out, not that I would let you go."
Chen Feng snapped his fingers.
Hunk pulled a silver syringe from his tactical vest and walked up to Yuri. Inside the transparent glass tube, a silver nematode was swimming frantically in the nutrient solution.
"Th-this... what is this!" Yuri was terrified and scrambled toward the corner, using both hands and feet.
Hunk stepped on his chest, the immense force rendering him unable to move.
The cold needle ruthlessly pierced into his carotid artery.
Yuri convulsed violently, his eyes rolling back, and a strange gurgling sound came from his throat. In less than ten seconds, he stopped struggling. The terror on his face vanished, and his expression became completely blank.
He slowly climbed up from the floor, straightened his tattered military uniform, and bowed deeply to Chen Feng.
"Boss, Yuri awaits your instructions."
Chen Feng picked up the coffee on the table nearby and took a sip; it had long since gone cold. He disgustedly tossed the cup aside.
"Go back to Moscow and continue being the head of the intelligence agency. Clean up this mess here; say the base suffered a terrorist attack and you turned the tide. As for the gold and the accounts, figure out how to balance the books yourself. Understand?"
"Understood, Boss."
"Get lost."
Yuri turned and walked toward the elevator with a steady gait, no longer showing the pathetic appearance of having wet his pants just moments ago.
"Boss!"
Samantha ran over from the server room with messy hair, holding a tablet in her hand. Her eyes were bloodshot but frighteningly bright.
"Look at Mia's data! This is simply unreasonable!"
On the screen, the curve representing Mia's vital signs was soaring upward at an exaggerated angle.
"Her cellular activity has increased by 300% compared to when she was in Los Angeles! And it's still rising!" Samantha rubbed her hands in excitement. "She has completely assimilated the proliferation characteristics of the G-Virus! To her, those mutants are just high-calorie nutrient blocks!"
As soon as she finished speaking, heavy footsteps echoed from the depths of the corridor.
Mia walked out, dragging a thigh that was taller than her and covered in disgusting tumors. As she walked, she tore off a piece of meat with her hand and stuffed it into her mouth, chewing with relish.
"Boss, the meat here is a bit tough." She threw the half-eaten thigh onto the floor and let out a burp. "And it all tastes the same; it gets a bit cloying after eating too much."
Chen Feng looked at the wreckage everywhere and the bloodstains at the corners of her mouth, his expression unchanged.
"Three thousand of them, did you finish eating?"
"Not yet." Mia licked her lips with some regret. "I ate half, but the rest didn't taste good, so I twisted them into pretzels and piled them underneath. Boss, when are we going back to Los Angeles? I want to eat that strawberry cupcake you brought me last time."
Twisting G-Creatures into pretzels? Samantha was stunned for a moment and quickly recorded on her tablet: The target possesses extremely high physical destructive power and a picky-eating attribute.
Chen Feng rubbed his temples.
"Hunk, lead the team to clean up. Leave no survivors, pack up any useful equipment and data, and bury the rest."
"Yes, Boss."
Chen Feng turned and walked out. Mia hurriedly trotted to catch up, casually wiping the bloodstains off her hands onto the wall.
The helicopter was already waiting outside the base.
Chen Feng leaned back in the leather seat, watching the ruins shrink outside the window; the cold wind of Siberia seemed to still be scraping against his face.
"Red Queen, connect to Sarah."
"Boss, everything is normal in Los Angeles." Sarah's cool voice sounded in the earpiece. "President Clark has already sent over the supplementary clauses for the 'Global Biological Asset Security Act'."
"Leave it for now." Chen Feng stroked his chin. "The thing I asked you to investigate, are there results?"
"The preliminary screening of the list of 300,000 patients in the ten special medical zones has been completed. There are currently twelve candidates who meet your requirements for a top-tier host." Sarah paused. "However, these people don't have very clean backgrounds; a few of them were even Old Rockefeller's former secret lines."
"Not clean backgrounds?" Chen Feng laughed. "That couldn't be better."
"Transfer all twelve of these people to the seventh underground laboratory in Los Angeles and isolate them individually." Chen Feng ordered. "Tell Samantha her new toys have arrived."
Samantha, who was sitting opposite, suddenly looked up, her eyes even brighter than when Mia saw meat.
"Boss, are you going to start the second phase of G-Virus live experiments?"
"No." Chen Feng shook his head. He looked at Mia, who was dozing off beside him. "That idiot Yuri isn't entirely useless. The potential of the G-Virus is huge. Mia is a perfect vessel, but she is only one. We need more 'Symbiotes'."
"Contact the South American Branch," Chen Feng continued to order. "Accelerate the mass production of the 'Small Tyrant'. Since the flaws in the Gene Lock have been removed, it's time to let them go out and see some blood."
"Understood."
The helicopter broke through the clouds and flew toward the south.
The Old Money family had fallen, the president of the U Federation was his pet dog, and the intelligence network of the Russian Federation had also fallen into his hands.
Chen Feng closed his eyes, then opened them a moment later.
"Red Queen, pull up the guest list for the 'Eden Island Tape Master'."
A holographic screen unfolded in the cabin, with dense names scrolling by, each representing monstrous power.
Chen Feng's finger slid across the screen and finally stopped on a name.
"Duke Winston..."
He looked at the name as if admiring a work of art.
"Red Queen, send a package to Duke Winston's mansion."
"Understood, Boss. Does the gift list need to include a marionette?"
"No, that's too mild."
Chen Feng's fingertips tapped lightly on the name on the screen.
"Send him a Licker. A live one, packaged in the most exquisite gift box."
