249: Chapter 249 The highest level of interception: Taking the whole thing away.
Underground Level 7 Laboratory.
Chen Feng stared at the screen, the coffee in his hand had long gone cold.
On the screen, Samantha was operating a high-precision robotic arm. The syringe was filled with fluorescent green G-Virus serum, and the needle tip was slowly piercing into that lump of Blacklight Progenitor that had been charred by high-frequency current.
The green liquid was pushed in.
One second. Two seconds. Three seconds.
No reaction.
"Not enough dosage?" Chen Feng asked into the microphone.
"No." Samantha stared intently at the real-time data transmitted back from the microscope, not even bothering to push up the glasses that had slid to the tip of her nose. "It is feeding."
As soon as she finished speaking, the basketball-sized charred lump in the isolation chamber suddenly cracked open a seam.
Thick black slime oozed out from inside, rolling like boiling asphalt. Dark red blood vessels quickly emerged on the surface of the slime; that was the G-Virus forcibly rewriting its gene chain.
Two forces were crazily slaughtering each other in the petri dish.
The Blacklight virus wanted to devour all foreign genes, while the G-Virus's characteristic was infinite proliferation and forced mutation.
"Alert. Internal temperature of the isolation chamber has exceeded 120 degrees." The Red Queen's mechanical voice echoed in the laboratory.
"Shut up, cut off the temperature alarm." Samantha's ten fingers typed on the keyboard, leaving afterimages. "Turn the nutrient delivery power to the maximum! Fast!"
Several thick pipes descended, and high-concentration biological nutrient solution poured onto that lump of slime like a waterfall.
The moment the slime touched the nutrient solution, its body size expanded violently.
From the size of a basketball, it quickly grew to one meter, then two meters.
It had no fixed shape; one moment it turned into a lump of flesh covered in bone spurs, and the next it became a puddle of sludge covered in countless eyes. The G-Virus's iconic giant eyeball emerged on the surface of the black slime and was then swallowed, over and over again.
"Bang!"
A spiderweb-like crack suddenly exploded on the fifteen-centimeter-thick explosion-proof glass.
A sharp claw composed of pure black cuticle and dark red muscle fibers smashed hard against the glass.
Chen Feng narrowed his eyes.
That thing had finally stabilized.
It slowly stood up straight, turning into a humanoid silhouette about two meters tall. Its entire body was covered in a layer of streamlined black biological armor; its right arm was a giant bone blade flickering with a cold light, while on its left shoulder grew a tightly closed dark gold G-Virus eyeball.
There were no facial features, only smooth black cuticle on its face.
It stood there, separated by the cracked glass, quietly "looking" at Samantha outside.
"Boss." Samantha's voice carried a rare fanaticism. "This thing... does not conform to existing biological common sense."
"Speak human language." Chen Feng leaned back in his chair.
"Its cell telomeres have no wear. The G-Virus has granted it infinite regenerative capabilities, while the Blacklight virus has erased the uncontrollable distorted genes of the G-Virus." Samantha swallowed a mouthful of saliva. "It can devour the DNA of any organism, simulate the opponent's form, and even inherit the opponent's memories. Moreover, as long as it is given enough biomass, it is immortal."
A crisp system prompt sounded in Chen Feng's mind.
"Ding. Detected perfect gene fusion product."
"Congratulations to the host, unlocked hidden unit: [Blacklight—G Symbiote] (Prototype)."
"Unit characteristics: Devouring Evolution, Perfect Mimicry, Super-speed Regeneration, Weaponized Form."
"Current mass production progress: 0% (Need to parse mother body genetic data)."
Chen Feng smiled.
This thing was much more useful than those Tyrants that only knew how to charge forward. It could transform into anyone and could even devour memories; this was simply the ultimate weapon for assassination and infiltration.
"Can it be controlled?" Chen Feng asked the question he cared about most.
"I added a neural inhibitor to the G-Virus serum just now." Samantha pressed a few keys on the console. "Its underlying logic has already been bound to the Red Queen's main server. Without your authorization, it cannot even move a finger."
In the isolation chamber, the black humanoid monster knelt on one knee as expected, and the bone blade on its right arm instantly melted, returning to the appearance of a normal arm.
"Very good. Give it a codename, let's call it 'Nightmare'." Chen Feng stood up and stretched. "Keep a close watch on it, and get me a mass production plan as soon as possible."
"Understood." Samantha didn't even turn her head, completely immersed in the data of her new toy.
Chen Feng turned his head to look at another big screen in the War Room.
The chaotic battle on the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica was nearing its end.
The ice sheet was covered with severed limbs and burning helicopter wreckage.
The fifty defective Walkers that Chen Feng had air-dropped had already been dismantled into scrap metal all over the ground. After all, they were expired downgraded goods with insufficient armor strength, and after being bombarded by the mercenaries' electromagnetic cannons, most of them were dead or injured.
But Old Morgan's mercenaries didn't fare well either.
The five G-Tyrants brought by the Russians demonstrated absolute dominance.
On the screen, a G-Tyrant had half its shoulder blown off by an electromagnetic cannon, but the G-Virus's characteristics were instantly activated. Dark red granulation tissue squirmed crazily, and in less than ten seconds, not only had the shoulder grown back, but a huge sharp claw had also mutated out.
It charged into the mercenary position despite the dense firepower, chopping two mercenaries holding heavy weapons in half with one claw.
Wild Dog, who was leading the team, was covered in blood, hiding behind an ice rock, and roaring into the communicator: "We can't hold them off! This is not human at all! Retreat! Retreat to below the ice lake! We'll leave once we get the item!"
The remaining less than twenty mercenaries threw a few thermobaric bombs and, taking advantage of the explosion's glare, scrambled and slid down the ice hole toward the bottom of the ice lake.
Colonel Ivanov of Russia had a cold face and waved his hand: "Chase them down! Don't leave a single living soul!"
The five G-Tyrants jumped into the bottomless ice hole.
Chen Feng took a sip of coffee and watched the drone footage cutting into the underground ice lake with great interest.
At the bottom of the ice lake, the icebreaker that had been torn in two still lay there quietly.
Wild Dog led his men rushing into the cabin, heading straight for the storage room on the bottom floor.
"Quick! Blow the door open!" Wild Dog shouted.
Several mercenaries hurriedly attached C4 explosives.
With a dull boom, the heavy titanium alloy door was blown away.
Wild Dog held his gun and was the first to rush in.
Then, he froze.
The storage room was a mess, with dried black slime and the remains of Spartan Soldiers all over the floor. The special isolation box in the very center had a large hole broken into it from the inside.
It was empty.
There wasn't even a hair left inside.
"Where is the item?!" Wild Dog's eyes were red, and he grabbed the collar of the technician next to him. "Where is the cargo that Boss Morgan wanted?!"
The technician shivered with fear: "Boss, I don't know... The radar showed there was indeed a life signal before, but now there is nothing left."
Just then, heavy footsteps came from outside the door.
Ivanov, along with three blood-soaked G-Tyrants, blocked the door of the storage room. (The other two had perished together with the Walkers above).
"Americans, hand over the goods." Ivanov raised his pistol, pointing it at Wild Dog's head. "This is the property of the Russian Federation."
Wild Dog laughed out of anger and spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva: "Hand over your mom! When I came down, I didn't even see a ghost! I still want to ask if you Russians intercepted the cargo beforehand!"
Ivanov's eyes turned cold.
He looked at the empty isolation box, then looked at Wild Dog's furious appearance, and felt a little suspicious in his heart.
Could it be that someone had really gotten there first?
Impossible. They arrived at the same time as the Blackwater Company, and apart from those inexplicable metal scorpions above, there was no third-party force involved.
"Since you refuse to hand it over, then go to hell." Ivanov didn't bother with nonsense and took a step back.
The three G-Tyrants roared and pounced.
In the narrow cabin, a brutal melee broke out again.
Los Angeles underground base.
Chen Feng watched the two groups of people fighting on the screen and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Ada." Chen Feng tapped the table.
"Boss, I am here." Ada Wong's voice came from the channel.
"Edit the footage from Antarctica." Chen Feng tapped the desktop with his fingertips. "Delete the part where Hunk took the Blacklight Progenitor. Leave only the footage of the Russian G-Tyrants and Old Morgan's mercenaries fighting."
"Understood. Who should I send it to?"
"Send a copy to Yuri at The Kremlin, and another to Old Morgan in New York." Chen Feng sneered. "Tell Yuri that Old Morgan has already sent people to transfer the super weapon from Antarctica. Then tell Old Morgan that the Russians snatched the cargo from under his ice lake and killed all his men."
Ada Wong chuckled: "Boss, you are really pushing them to death. If Old Morgan knew that he spent hundreds of millions to hire people, and in the end didn't even get an empty box, he would probably have a heart attack."
"If he has a heart attack, isn't that the perfect time for him to come buy my 'Neo-Genesis' to extend his life?" Chen Feng stood up and adjusted the collar of his trench coat. "This is called resource recycling."
"What about the remains of those defective Walkers on the ground?" Sarah asked from the side.
"Don't worry about them. The self-destruct program inside the Walkers was activated long ago. In another half hour, their metal shells will oxidize into a pile of powder. No one will be able to trace it back to Umbrella."
Chen Feng turned and walked out.
"Let's go, Sarah. Those two congressmen in New York controlled by parasites are supposed to give a speech at Congress today. Let's go see how they stump for the medical special zone."
"Okay, Boss." Sarah picked up the silver briefcase and followed quickly.
Walking to the door, Chen Feng suddenly stopped and looked back at the big screen.
On the screen, Wild Dog's head had been twisted off by a G-Tyrant, and Ivanov was frantically searching every corner of the cabin.
"Search slowly." Chen Feng said softly.
The real treasure had long been taken away by him, lock, stock, and barrel.
