270: Chapter 270 Metamorphosis

The aircraft landed steadily on the secret landing pad on the seventh underground level of Umbrella's Los Angeles headquarters.

The hydraulic rods of the cabin door made a soft sound, and several fully armed USS Agents pushed out a heavy maglev cart.

On the cart sat a special cryogenic chamber with a diameter of five meters, its surface still covered in dust brought from the Northwest Uninhabited Zone.

Chen Feng walked in front, while Mia followed behind, clutching a freshly opened bucket of caramel popcorn, her cheeks stuffed full.

Inside the core laboratory, the thick isolation door slid open silently.

Samantha, wearing ten-centimeter high heels, strode in with the hem of her lab coat fluttering, not even bothering to glance at Chen Feng, her eyes locked firmly onto the massive cryogenic chamber.

"Is this the 'new toy' you mentioned?" She pushed up her rimless glasses, her eyes behind the lenses shining like two searchlights.

"Just dug it out of the desert, it's alive." Chen Feng pointed to the cryogenic chamber, "It's a bit shy."

Samantha had already put on sterile gloves and pressed her face directly against the observation window of the cryogenic chamber, watching the black tumorous mass inside still pulsating slightly, her breathing growing heavier.

"Perfect dormancy mechanism... telomerase activity is thirty-seven times that of the G-Virus... Boss, where did you dig up this Cretaceous relic?" She fingers tapped rapidly on her personal terminal as she muttered to herself.

"Not important." Chen Feng pulled over a chair and sat down, "What's important is that I've sent you a new map."

Samantha opened the terminal, and after just one glance, she froze completely.

"Blacklight... advanced map?" She looked up, her eyes filled with a sickly fanaticism, "If we combine this genetic recombination logic with this progenitor..."

"What can you come up with?"

"Symbiotic Armor." Samantha spoke extremely fast, displaying a simulation image, "A living bio-armor that can parasitize the host's epidermis. It lies dormant normally and covers the host during combat. It can consume biomass for repairs and greatly enhance mobility. The previous 'Nightmare' is just a defective product compared to it."

"Success rate?"

"Using the progenitor as a genetic anchor and the G-Virus to neutralize rejection, over eighty percent."

"Good." Chen Feng snapped his fingers, "The progenitor is yours, just don't kill it. I need you to develop the 'Symbiotic Armor' as quickly as possible and fully equip Alpha Squad and the 3rd Generation Tyrant with it."

"No problem!" Samantha had already grabbed a plasma cutter.

Mia poked her head out, staring at the cryogenic chamber and swallowing, "Boss, can I eat the scraps you cut off?"

Samantha's hand trembled, and she spun around suddenly, blocking the cryogenic chamber like a lioness protecting her food, "No! This is a priceless treasure! Whoever dares to eat it, I will dissect them first!"

Mia curled her lip, her eerie green slit pupils flashing.

An invisible, terrifying pressure instantly soaked Samantha's back with cold sweat, but she gritted her teeth and did not retreat.

"Alright, Mia." Chen Feng rubbed the little girl's head, "The meat of this thing is too tough, not tasty. I'll take you to have Kobe steak later."

"Yay!" Mia instantly retracted that terrifying aura, turning back into a harmless little girl.

Chen Feng led Sarah out of the laboratory.

In the corridor, Sarah handed over an encrypted tablet.

"Boss, news from Moscow: Yuri and Razor have cleared out all the underground forces, and the Russian Federation's military orders and funds are all in place."

"Over in Europe, Hunk and Elena have taken over all the industries of the Augustus Family, and they've dug up over three hundred tons of gold alone."

"What about the Medical Special Zone?"

Sarah's expression turned serious, "The ten special zones globally have locked onto 1,200 highly active 'top-tier subjects,' all of whom are terminal patients with no relatives, and they have all signed voluntary agreements."

Chen Feng's mouth curled up.

This was the true purpose of his establishing the Medical Special Zone.

"Transfer them all to the South America base, have them get ready, and once Samantha's 'Symbiotic Armor' is ready, use them for clinical testing."

"Understood."

The elevator rose to the top floor.

Chen Feng walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the night view of Los Angeles.

The system panel unfolded on his retina.

[Current Research Points: 1,228,000]

His gaze passed over the G-Virus, T-Veronica, and Blacklight, landing directly on the very top of the tech tree, on that massive branch shrouded in layers of mist.

[Ouroboros Virus · Complete Version]

"System, unlock the Ouroboros Virus Complete Version."

[Command confirmed. Deducting 1,000,000 Research Points.]

[...Conditions met, unlock successful.]

[Obtained: Ouroboros Virus complete map and cultivation plan.]

[Obtained: Ouroboros Virus · Progenitor Strain (1 unit).]

[Remaining Research Points: 228,000]

Chen Feng closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, there was a jet-black metal test tube in his hand. The black liquid inside writhed on its own, as if it were a living thing.

"Boss?" Sarah noticed Chen Feng's strangeness.

Chen Feng turned to look at her, his gaze falling on her right hand, which was always wearing a black tactical glove.

"Sarah," he pushed the test tube in front of her, "Do you want to become stronger?"

Sarah's eyes did not hesitate at all.

"As long as it is your command."

"This is not a command." Chen Feng smiled, "It is a reward. Go to the isolation room on the fifth underground level and inject it yourself. If you survive, you won't need to wear gloves anymore."

Sarah picked up the test tube, bowed deeply, and turned to leave.

Chen Feng leaned back in his chair; the old order had collapsed, and the new rules would be written by Umbrella.

Just then, the red confidential phone on the desk rang suddenly.

Chen Feng pressed the speakerphone.

"Boss..." President Clark's voice carried undisguised panic.

"What is it, Mr. President?"

"Something happened," Clark breathed rapidly, "The Pentagon's satellites captured a ship on the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica... it's not a ship from our era."

Chen Feng sat up straight.

"Send the image over."

A few seconds later, a high-resolution satellite image popped up on the computer screen.

Deep within a massive glacial rift, a piece of jet-black metal wreckage covered in biological textures broke through the ice. It was definitely not a human creation.

"Old Morgan was looking for this in the beginning." Clark's voice trembled, "Several hawk generals at The Pentagon have gone mad; they think it's alien technology and are privately mobilizing the fleet to blockade that sea area."

Chen Feng stared at the photo, thinking of that prehistoric spore progenitor.

"Tell your generals to behave." Chen Feng said coldly, "Whoever dares to reach out, I will chop off their claws."

"But Boss, they have already set off..."

"Then let them stay in the ice forever."

Chen Feng hung up the phone and pressed the internal communicator on the desk.

"Red Queen."

"I am here, Boss."

"Notify Hunk to activate fifty polar Tyrants, 'Yetis,' and load up three hundred 'Walkers'."

Chen Feng stood up, walked to the window, his eyes cold.

"Book them a one-way ticket to Antarctica. Someone wants to steal our toys, go teach them the rules."
