61: Chapter 61 Thirty-eight million arrives, a new prey comes knocking.

A few days later, Umbrella Corporation, Basement Level 1.

This place was less a warehouse and more a small underground hangar. The vast space was large enough to accommodate several heavy trucks for simultaneous loading and unloading operations, and the air was filled with a faint mixture of machine oil and disinfectant.

Three sixteen-wheeler heavy container trucks, bearing the words "Clark Agricultural Equipment Co., Ltd.", were parked quietly at the loading platform. The final special alloy refrigerated unit, labeled with a biohazard tag, was steadily hoisted into the trailer by a mechanical arm.

Marcus stood by the trucks, his gaze scanning every detail of the operation.

Chen Feng stood in the shadows a short distance away, hands tucked into the pockets of his white lab coat, watching it all calmly.

The thirty-eight million dollar order, disguised as "large-scale combine harvester parts" and "high-protein biological feed," was being dispatched to a secret military base designated by General Clark.

As the last refrigerated unit was secured, the heavy trailer doors slowly closed with a dull, heavy thud.

"Boss, loading is complete. The route has undergone three layers of obfuscation, and the transport team is our own people," Marcus walked to Chen Feng's side and reported in a low voice.

"Very good," Chen Feng nodded.

The drivers started the engines, and the three behemoth-like trucks drove out of the hangar one by one, merging into the spiral ramp leading to the surface. The low rumble of the engines echoed in the underground space until they vanished.

The moment the convoy left completely, a blue light screen that only he could see quietly emerged before Chen Feng's eyes.

[Ding! First arms trade order delivery complete!]

[Achievement "Cornerstone of the Arms Empire" Progress Update: 1/10.]

[Reward: Research Points +10,000.]

Looking at the Research Points on the panel jumping to 93,000, Chen Feng's face remained expressionless. The ten-thousand-point reward was just an appetizer; the real prize was the thirty-eight million dollars in cash flow and the relationship tied to the massive interest group behind Clark.

This marked Umbrella Corporation's official step from a marginal biopharmaceutical company into the bloody and lucrative circle of the arms trade.

Just then, the private phone in Chen Feng's pocket vibrated.

He pulled out his phone and glanced at the caller ID; it was an encrypted line, and the number belonged to Clark.

"It seems our client cares a lot about after-sales service," Chen Feng said to Marcus before answering the call.

"Mr. Chen, is the cargo on its way?" General Clark's powerful voice came through the phone, devoid of discernible emotion.

"Of course. Clark Agricultural Equipment's logistics efficiency has always been high," Chen Feng's tone was relaxed.

"Good." Clark paused, his tone shifting. "However, I'm not calling to rush the order. I wanted to tell you that our transaction seems to have alerted an old dog with a very sensitive nose."

Chen Feng raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"U Federation Vanguard Bureau, AFT. Have you heard of it?"

"The military's advanced technical research agency? I've heard something about it." Chen Feng naturally knew that this agency held an extremely high rank within the U Federation, specializing in the R&D and application of various cutting-edge technologies, with staggering authority.

"The man in charge of that department is named Arthur Stone," Clark's voice grew heavy. "A total technical fanatic and my old rival at The Pentagon. His life's dream is to build a super-soldier force completely controlled by the U Federation."

Chen Feng understood instantly.

"So, our 'product' happened to scratch his itch?"

"It's more than just an itch." Clark's tone carried a hint of mockery. "Your B-02 'Tyrant' is practically carved from the mold of his dream lover. According to reports from my mole at his side, Stone has already confirmed through certain channels that your company possesses 'epoch-making biological weapons,' though he hasn't obtained any substantial evidence yet."

On this end of the phone, Chen Feng's face remained calm, but the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

"So, what will he do?"

"For a man like Stone, the word 'rules' doesn't exist in his dictionary," Clark's warning was clear. "He won't go through Congress, nor will he use any legal procedures. He'll only use the method he's best at—sending his group of shadowy private paramilitaries to come directly to your door and take it."

"I understand," Chen Feng's reply was simple and direct.

"Good that you understand. I'm reminding you not because I'm afraid something will happen to you, but because I'm afraid my investment will go down the drain," Clark added. "Be prepared, Chen. Once that old dog bites, he won't let go easily."

"Thanks for the reminder."

After hanging up, the smile on Chen Feng's face deepened.

Standing to the side, Marcus sensed the change in atmosphere and asked in his muffled voice, "Boss, trouble?"

"No." Chen Feng turned around, looking at the empty hangar, a flash of excitement in his eyes. "This isn't trouble, Marcus. It's an opportunity."

Marcus was stunned for a moment, not understanding.

Chen Feng's heart suddenly burned with anticipation.

Experimental subjects delivered to his door? And elite armed forces sent by the most radical department of the U Federation?

This was more than a grade higher than that last batch of mercenaries!

It was practically someone handing him a pillow just as he was getting sleepy!

He was just worrying that the Tyrant's optimization had hit a bottleneck and needed higher-quality biological hosts to carry stronger genetic modifications. This Arthur Stone was truly a good man!

Without the slightest hesitation, Chen Feng immediately took out his phone and dialed Samantha Lee's number.

The call was answered almost instantly.

"Boss," Samantha's cold and precise voice came through.

"Samantha, what is the current status of the B-02 'Tyrant' optimization project?" Chen Feng asked, getting straight to the point.

Samantha was silent for two seconds on the other end, seemingly retrieving data.

"Reporting, Boss. Based on over three thousand genetic simulation deductions in the past seventy-two hours, Prototype One has reached the theoretical limit of its current genetic sequence. Its cellular structure can no longer withstand higher-intensity energy injections or muscle fiber restructuring. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless we change the... 'container'," Samantha's choice of words was as calm and objective as ever. "We need a brand-new host with stronger physiological functions, more stable genes, and tougher willpower. Only then can we break through the existing bottleneck and carry the next stage of enhancement modifications."

"I understand."

Chen Feng hung up, the plan already formed in his mind.

He looked at Marcus beside him and patted his shoulder.

"Marcus, notify the security department. We might have new guests very soon."
