34: Chapter 34 May Day Profit Sharing

On Monday morning, Song Yun and her party appeared once again at the entrance of the Umbrella Corporation.

This time, the composition of their team was noticeably different.

Besides Song Yun and the military representative named Tong Lei, there was an additional middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses who looked refined and scholarly, with a "Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group" badge pinned to his suit.

In the elevator, the atmosphere was even heavier than last time.

In the meeting room, Chen Feng had been waiting for a long time, with Tony standing behind him like a diligent assistant.

"Mr. Chen, we meet again." This time, Song Yun skipped the small talk and got straight to the point. "This is the Vice President of Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group, Mr. Wang He. We have come with the utmost sincerity, and personally, I have been granted 'strategic-level' negotiation authority from Jingzhou."

"Is that so?" Chen Feng raised his eyelids slightly and gestured for them to sit. "Then I look forward to your sincerity."

Song Yun took a deep breath, took a document out of her briefcase, and pushed it in front of Chen Feng.

"After careful evaluation, the Hua Federation is willing to invest 200 million USD for a 15% stake in the Umbrella Corporation." Her speech was steady, each word carrying an unquestionable weight. "At the same time, we require your side to provide the complete formulas, production processes, and all relevant clinical data for 'ruisu' and 'healing factor'. We will build independent production lines within the Hua Federation to meet domestic market demand."

200 million USD? A buyout? And only asking for 15% of the shares?

Chen Feng almost laughed out loud. These people really had a great scheme; they wanted to use a seemingly huge sum of money to demonstrate their "sincerity," use equity to deeply bind him and his company, and finally get their hands on the core technology completely.

By then, he, Chen Feng, would just be a technician who took the money and left, while they could use the massive state apparatus to turn this technology into a real money-printing machine.

He didn't even open the document; he just extended two fingers and gently pushed it back.

"I refuse."

Two words, spoken lightly, yet they caused the air in the entire meeting room to freeze.

Song Yun's pupils constricted, and the Vice President Wang beside her frowned deeply. They had anticipated that Chen Feng would haggle, but they hadn't expected him to refuse so decisively.

"Mr. Chen, this is the most generous offer we can provide." Song Yun's voice dropped. "200 million USD is an offer that any startup would find impossible to refuse."

"For 'any' other, perhaps, but not for me." Chen Feng leaned back in his chair, crossed his hands on the table, and watched her calmly. "Besides, you seem to have misunderstood one thing."

He stood up, walked to the whiteboard nearby, and picked up a marker.

"First, my company will not sell any equity. Not even a little bit." He drew a big 'X' on the whiteboard.

"Second, cooperation is possible. But not the kind of cooperation you mentioned." He drew a second line. "Umbrella can provide key raw materials and a portion of core technology that has been 'obfuscated.' You can establish a branch in the Hua Federation responsible for final product synthesis and market distribution. Of course, we will continue to provide finished pharmaceutical products as we do now, but the production volume will not be very high."

"Third, and most importantly." Chen Feng turned around, the tip of his pen tapping heavily on the whiteboard with a crisp 'tap' sound. "Regardless of military channels or the civilian market, I will take 51% of the net profit generated from all sales."

"Fourth, as a sign of sincerity for our cooperation, the Hua Federation needs to inject an initial round of R&D funding into the Umbrella Corporation, no less than 50 million USD."

The entire room was deathly silent.

Song Yun's expression changed completely. Behind her, Tong Lei, who had always kept a poker face, also revealed a look of disbelief.

51%?!

This is simply robbery!

This meant the Hua Federation would have to provide personnel, land, policies, channels, and the market, working hard to grow the pie, only to find that the lion's share was being taken away by a small company far away in the U Federation?

"Mr. Chen!" Vice President Wang was the first to lose his composure. He stood up abruptly. "This isn't called cooperation; this is extortion! You don't even have to build a factory, and you aren't even willing to provide the complete technology. On what grounds do you take more than half of the profits?"

Song Yun did not stop him; her thoughts were the same as Vice President Wang's. This condition was already beyond the scope of "asking for the moon"; it was practically treating them like fools.

Chen Feng watched their agitated state with no ripples on his face.

He strolled back to the table, bent down, and took out two special glass tubes sealed with lead from under the table.

One tube was labeled "ruisu," and the other was labeled "healing factor." Inside were clear, slightly viscous liquids.

He gently pushed them to the center of the table.

"Just because of this."

Chen Feng's voice was not loud, but it struck everyone's heart like a heavy hammer.

"Because these two things, in the entire world, only I can produce them."

He looked around the circle, his gaze finally landing on Song Yun's face, his tone calm yet carrying a crushing self-confidence.

"You can check the U Federation FDA database, you can check the EU EMA database, you can check every known chemical compound patent database in the world—I guarantee, zero matches."

"In the Hua Federation, you can find the world's largest factories, the fastest approval channels, and the broadest markets. But," Chen Feng paused, saying each word clearly, "you cannot find a second person who can synthesize these molecular structures from scratch."

He leaned forward slightly, staring into Song Yun's eyes, and delivered the final blow.

"The Pentagon can't find one either."

"..."

Song Yun went completely silent.

This statement carried too much information. It wasn't just boasting about the uniqueness of the technology; it was clearly telling her that the U Federation's official and military branches did not possess this technology either.

This was a huge temptation, and also a huge bargaining chip.

A full fifteen seconds passed before Tong Lei finally couldn't help but speak, his voice raspy and full of oppressive pressure: "Mr. Chen, how do we guarantee the security of the supply chain? If one day you have an accident in the U Federation, or your company is seized, wouldn't all our investments go down the drain?"

Chen Feng heard this and smiled.

"That is not something you should worry about."

As soon as he finished speaking, the door to the meeting room was silently pushed open a crack.

A massive dog's head poked in. It was not an ordinary dog; its eyes flashed with an unnatural red light, and the breath exhaled from its nostrils carried a faint scent of sulfur. It was Dahei.

It just quietly glanced at Tong Lei, then silently retreated and closed the door.

The whole process took less than three seconds, but it made Tong Lei's muscles tense up instantly. That feeling of being targeted by an apex predator was something he had only experienced on the most brutal battlefields.

Chen Feng seemed not to have seen this, just saying indifferently: "As long as an intercontinental missile doesn't land directly on this building, ordinary people cannot touch me. Even if they do, they won't be able to take away what they want."

The implication was self-evident.

Song Yun's chest heaved violently, and she forced herself to calm down.

She knew that today's negotiations were over. She did not have the authority to agree to the conditions Chen Feng had thrown out on the spot.

"I need time to consult with my superiors." Song Yun stood up and straightened her clothes. "Three days. I will give you an answer in three days."

She took a deep look at the two sample tubes on the table, her eyes complex.

She had to secure this technology.

Although the conditions Chen Feng offered were ridiculously harsh, the statement "The Pentagon can't find one either" gave this cooperation a strategic value that far exceeded the commercial scope. This meant that the Hua Federation had a chance to overtake in a brand-new field capable of subverting the future form of warfare.

After seeing off Song Yun and her party, Tony seemed to come back to life, letting out a long breath. He walked to Chen Feng's side, his voice trembling slightly.

"Boss... you... had you planned it this way from the very beginning?"

From using the raw solution to "fish," to today's negotiation, every step seemed to be following a pre-written script.

Chen Feng did not answer him.

He just picked up the two sample tubes from the table and looked at the liquid flowing inside, as if admiring his own masterpiece.

Then, he turned and walked toward the elevator leading to the underground laboratory.

Some questions do not need to be answered.
