252: Chapter 252 A Supreme Body, A Lucky Draw Delivered to Your Door

New York, beside a sewer in Brooklyn.

The rain was pouring down like a waterfall.

A homeless man was digging through a trash can with his butt in the air. After rummaging for a long time, he pulled out half a moldy hamburger. Just as he was about to shove it into his mouth, he tripped over something soft.

He looked down and saw an old man.

The old man was wearing silk pajamas, lying in the muddy water, soaked to the bone. His eyes were wide open, but he wasn't moving.

The homeless man looked left and right; there was no one on the street. He squatted down and reached out to touch the pajamas. The fabric was incredibly smooth.

"Hey, old geezer, this outfit is mine now." The homeless man stripped the pajamas off in a few quick tugs and put them on himself, then casually snatched the Patek Philippe off the old man's wrist.

Old Morgan lay in the muddy water, the rain pounding into his eyes. He wanted to scream, but only a few "gurgling" sounds squeezed out of his throat. He wanted to move, but he couldn't even lift his pinky finger.

Samantha's nerve inhibitor worked very well. Old Morgan was now just a paralyzed man with full sensation.

The homeless man walked two steps away, then turned back and spat on Old Morgan's face: "What are you looking at? Keep staring and I'll pull your dentures out too!"

The true emperor of the U Federation underground, the head of the Morgan Family who controlled half the world's wealth, was now lying in a sewer, being spat on by a homeless man.

A patrol car with flashing lights turned the corner, its headlights sweeping over Old Morgan's pale face.

Los Angeles, the seventh underground level of Umbrella.

Chen Feng tossed his empty coffee cup into the trash can and looked at the financial statements on the big screen.

The screen was split in two. On the left was Alan Fisher's flushed face, and on the right were jumping green numbers.

"Boss, the net is closed." Alan loosened his tie; his collar was soaked with sweat. "All seventy-three offshore trusts of the Morgan Family distributed across the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, and the Virgin Islands have been emptied. A total of 1.4 trillion USD has entered Umbrella's overseas accounts in batches through a cross-money laundering network."

Chen Feng nodded: "What's the movement on Wall Street?"

"It's exploded." Alan grabbed a handful of his hair. "The stocks under the Morgan Consortium hit circuit breakers right at the opening. The CEOs of those listed companies under their name are all lining up on the rooftops now. No one knows how the money vanished; even the Federal Reserve's regulatory system didn't react in time."

"Then let them take their time investigating." Chen Feng leaned back in his swivel chair. "Was that list sent out?"

"It's sent. The editors-in-chief of the top one hundred mainstream media outlets worldwide have had their inboxes stuffed full." Alan grinned. "Capitol Hill must be in total chaos right now; those dozens of politicians on the list are all booking flights to run away at this very moment."

"Well done. Take half a day off." Chen Feng cut the communication.

Sarah pushed the door open and came in, holding a briefing: "Boss, the New York Police Department picked up Old Morgan in Brooklyn half an hour ago. He has had a stroke resulting in hemiplegia and incontinence, and he is currently lying in the intensive care unit of a public hospital. The doctors say he will have to rely on a feeding tube for the rest of his life."

"He got off easy." Chen Feng tapped the table. "What about Old Rockefeller?"

"No movement yet. He's probably still waiting for Old Morgan's 'good news'." Sarah placed the briefing on the table.

Chen Feng picked up the encrypted phone on the table and dialed a number.

The phone rang three times before connecting.

"Hello?" Old Rockefeller's voice was trembling, as if he hadn't slept all night.

"Mr. Rockefeller, good morning." Chen Feng's tone was relaxed. "Have you had breakfast?"

There was no sound on the other end of the line. After a full ten seconds, Old Rockefeller's distorted voice came through: "Chen Feng… what did you do to Morgan?"

"Nothing much, just sent him to experience the life of the lower classes." Chen Feng pressed the speakerphone button. "I suggest you turn on the TV right now and watch the morning news."

There was a flurry of chaotic movement on Old Rockefeller's end, followed by the voice of a news anchor.

"Breaking news: The Morgan Consortium is suspected of massive money laundering and political donation scandals, and its assets have been completely frozen by the FBI. According to insiders, the head of the consortium suffered a severe stroke last night…"

With a "bang," the sound of a glass shattering came from the other end of the line.

"Chen Feng! You… you are trying to wipe us all out!" Old Rockefeller's voice was filled with despair and hysteria.

"Don't put it so harshly; I'm helping you maintain your dignity. With Morgan down, you're the only commander left standing among the Old Money families. Those energy companies and military enterprises in your hands are now just meat on the chopping block. Take a guess: when those people on Capitol Hill recover, will they come to investigate me, or will they go to snatch your meat?"

Old Rockefeller stopped speaking. Only heavy, ragged breathing remained on the line.

He knew exactly what kind of people those politicians were. With Morgan fallen, the next one to be carved up would be Rockefeller.

"I'll point you toward a clear path." Chen Feng said. "Transfer the controlling interest of all remaining assets of the Rockefeller Family to Umbrella for free. In return, I guarantee that the direct descendants of the Rockefeller Family won't have to go begging, and I can provide you with one dose of 'downgraded Eternal' every year."

"In your dreams! That is the two-hundred-year foundation of the Rockefeller Family!"

"Beep… beep… beep…"

Chen Feng hung up the phone directly.

"Boss, you just hung up like that?" Sarah asked from the side.

"He will call back." Chen Feng glanced at his watch. "Five minutes at most."

Three minutes later, the phone rang frantically.

Chen Feng pressed the answer button without speaking.

"I'll sign." Old Rockefeller's voice was lifeless. "All equity transfer agreements, I will have someone send them to Los Angeles immediately. Chen Feng, you win."

"A smart man." Chen Feng smiled. "Send the agreements directly to Alan; he will handle it. Remember, don't try any tricks; Nightmare isn't full yet."

The call ended.

Chen Feng stood up and walked to the blast-proof glass.

Inside the isolation chamber, Nightmare stood in the corner. It had shed Henry's disguise and returned to its black humanoid silhouette. The G-Virus eyeball on its right shoulder rotated a few times, exuding an eerie vitality.

Samantha, wearing a white lab coat, walked over from the nearby workbench, holding a stack of data reports.

"Boss, Nightmare's combat data is out." Samantha handed over the reports. "Perfect mimicry; it didn't trigger any security system alarms. Moreover, during the process of devouring Henry, it extracted a large number of hidden dark web nodes regarding the Rockefeller Family."

"What is its current state?" Chen Feng didn't take the report, looking directly at the isolation chamber.

"Very unstable." Samantha said. "The Blacklight Virus within its body is craving more genes. Henry was just an ordinary old man; the biomass provided was too little. It needs a stronger subject to feed on, otherwise, the proliferation characteristics of the G-Virus will overwhelm the devouring characteristics of the Blacklight Virus, causing it to mutate again."

"A stronger subject?" Chen Feng rubbed his chin.

"Yes. Preferably an individual with high cellular activity or one that has undergone genetic modification. Ordinary Tyrants won't work; their Gene Locks are too rigid, and it would easily get indigestion eating them."

Chen Feng turned to look at Sarah: "How many patients are we currently treating in our ten global medical zones?"

"Currently, over 300,000 critically ill patients have been admitted." Sarah replied. "They are all, according to your requirements, screened terminal patients whom conventional medical methods have given up on."

"300,000." Chen Feng smiled. "With such a large base, we should be able to pick out a few special ones, right?"

"Have Red Queen go through the genetic profiles of all patients in the special zones." Chen Feng ordered. "Focus on screening for individuals who show abnormal drug resistance to 'Neo-Genesis' or have abnormal telomere hyperplasia."

"Understood." Sarah walked to the console and entered the command.

The big screen switched images, and many 3D models of genetic chains began to scroll.

Red Queen began to calculate.

Three minutes later, the image stopped.

A red file box popped up on the screen.

"Retrieval complete." Red Queen's mechanical voice sounded. "Found one extremely abnormal sample."

Chen Feng walked closer to the screen.

On the file was a white girl, about fourteen or fifteen years old. She was bald, pale, and extremely thin.

"Name: Mia. Age: 14. Medical History: Congenital hematopoietic stem cell defect, multi-organ failure." Sarah read the information on the file. "She is currently in the intensive care unit of the No. 3 Medical Special Zone in New York."

"What's so unusual about a dying little girl?" Chen Feng frowned.

"Boss, look here." Samantha stepped forward and zoomed in on the genetic map on the screen. "She was injected with 'Neo-Genesis' twice. For an ordinary person, one injection would cause the cancer cells to completely undergo apoptosis. But her body didn't absorb the medicine; instead, it devoured the targeting factors in the 'Neo-Genesis'."

Samantha paused, then continued: "Although her hematopoietic stem cells are defective, her immune system is highly exclusionary. Any foreign genes entering her body are dismantled by her white blood cells and then assimilated. This is simply a natural 'Blacklight Virus' carrier!"

Chen Feng stared at that pale little face on the screen.

"What if we combine her with the G-Virus?" Chen Feng asked.

"Then she could withstand the G-Virus's forced mutation and become the first human to perfectly fuse with the G-Virus without needing inhibitors!" Samantha swallowed hard. "She is the prime subject we have been looking for."

A fourteen-year-old girl, a natural embryo for a killing weapon.

"Sarah." Chen Feng turned around. "Go prepare the plane."

"Are we going to New York?" Sarah asked.

"Yes." Chen Feng straightened the collar of his trench coat. "To the No. 3 Medical Special Zone. I want to see what this little monster that can eat 'Neo-Genesis' actually looks like."

"Do we need to bring Nightmare?"

"Take it." Chen Feng glanced at the black monster in the isolation chamber. "In case that little girl doesn't listen, it can just have an extra meal."

Sarah nodded and turned to make arrangements.

Chen Feng looked at Mia's photo on the big screen, and the system prompt sounded in his mind.

"Ding. Main mission triggered: [Perfect Vessel]."

"Mission Requirements: Successfully capture and modify the extremely abnormal sample 'Mia', and complete the ultimate chimera of the perfect G-Virus and human genes."

"Mission Reward: Unlock the [T-Veronica Virus] ultimate form blueprint, 500,000 R&D points."

Chen Feng smiled.

Two hours later, a black Gulfstream private jet took off from Los Angeles, flying towards New York.

In the cabin, Chen Feng closed his eyes to rest.

Sarah sat opposite him, checking a special anesthesia gun.

In the aircraft's cargo hold, a huge titanium alloy cryogenic box was secured in the corner, containing the forcibly dormant Nightmare.

New York, No. 3 Medical Special Zone.

This complex, covering hundreds of acres, was brightly lit. The outside was surrounded by patients' families, while inside were fully enclosed sterile wards.

Intensive care unit, special care ward D-404.

Mia lay on the hospital bed, covered in tubes. She kept her eyes open, staring at the ceiling.

The ECG monitor beside her emitted a rhythmic beeping sound.

Suddenly, Mia turned her head and looked toward the heavy, soundproof door of the ward.

Her cracked lips moved.

"Monster…"

She whispered softly.

At the end of the corridor, the elevator door opened with a "ding."

Chen Feng, accompanied by Sarah and four fully armed USS Agents, walked out with long strides.

His leather shoes clicked on the polished floor, emitting a dull echo.
