100: The stolen prey yielded a bountiful harvest.

Lu Fan nudged Lightning's flanks lightly, cautiously steering him toward the source of the sound.

The dense foliage acted like a natural barrier. Lu Fan crouched low, trying not to make a single sound. Peering through the gaps in the leaves, he finally saw a scene that made his heart race.

A herd of Rock Sheep was leisurely grazing on a sloped stone wall.

These Rock Sheep were robust, their muscle lines faintly visible under the sunlight; one look was enough to tell the meat would be delicious.

Lu Fan calculated in his head that if he could hunt just one, it would be enough to feed him and An Lan for several days. This was a rare and delicious supply.

Excited, Lu Fan's palms broke into a slight sweat. He slowly tightened his grip on his Bow and Arrow, his movements so gentle it was as if he feared disturbing the tranquility of the mountain forest.

He half-squatted, knees slightly bent, and slowly drew the bowstring to its limit. Squinting one eye, he aimed at a slightly scrawny Rock Sheep.

The Rock Sheep seemed to sense something; its ears twitched slightly, but it didn't stop grazing.

Just at the critical moment when Lu Fan was about to release the arrow, a dark shadow lunged out from the nearby bushes like a bolt of Lightning. It moved so fast it kicked up a gust of wind.

"A Cheetah!!"

Lu Fan cried out internally. Before he could react, the Cheetah had already charged into the herd of Rock Sheep at extreme speed.

The Rock Sheep instantly fell into a panic. The originally peaceful and serene scene was shattered in an instant as they scattered in all directions, their hooves making rapid thumping sounds on the ground.

One of the sturdier Rock Sheep was instantly tackled by the Cheetah. The Cheetah's sharp claws dug deep into the sheep's body, and its throat was clamped shut by the predator's jaws. After a few struggles, it went limp.

Then, the Cheetah dragged the Rock Sheep away and quickly disappeared into the depths of the jungle, leaving behind only a cloud of dust.

"Damn it, this Cheetah really knows how to steal business. My mutton just flew away like that." Lu Fan slapped his thigh in frustration, his face full of resentment as he watched helplessly in the direction the Cheetah had vanished.

The herd of Rock Sheep had also been thoroughly spooked, galloping off into the distance. They soon vanished from Lu Fan's sight, leaving him staring blankly at the spot.

The livestream room immediately exploded:

"Holy crap, what was that just now?"

"Looked like a leopard, its speed was crazy fast."

"The sheep were scared off. That leopard is so unethical."

"But this jungle is seriously dangerous."

"It's fine if the sheep ran away, as long as the person is safe."

Looking at the Cheetah that had long since disappeared, Lu Fan let out a long sigh and comforted himself, "Forget it. Looks like I won't be eating Rock Sheep today. I'll look for other prey."

He patted Lightning's neck as if to encourage himself and soothe the horse, then continued riding Lightning through the mountain forest.

By around noon, the blazing sun hung high in the sky, its scorching light nearly baking the earth to a crisp.

Lu Fan felt like he was inside a giant steamer. Sweat poured from his forehead, sliding down his cheeks and soaking his clothes.

He found a tree, sat down exhausted, and took out some prepared jerky from his backpack to eat.

The jerky was dry and hard, requiring a lot of effort for every bite, but Lu Fan still ate with gusto. After all, in this wilderness, having food like this was already a rare luxury.

Lightning grazed leisurely nearby, occasionally swishing his tail to drive away mosquitoes and insects.

After resting for a while, Lu Fan recovered some strength and resumed riding Lightning through the forest.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, forming patches of light that danced and flickered on the ground like a beautiful painting.

But Lu Fan was in no mood to appreciate the scenery; his mind was entirely focused on finding prey. "Lord, please give me some big game. I'm about to be roasted into jerky by this sun. I'm just hoping for some harvest so I can go back and show off to An Lan."

Lu Fan grumbled while wiping the sweat from his face. As soon as the sweat emerged, it was evaporated by the scorching air, leaving behind a layer of white salt crust.

Perhaps the heavens heard his prayer. Just as Lu Fan's throat was parched and he was nearly ready to give up, a familiar voice rang in his ear.

[Sika Deer discovered ahead]

Lu Fan's spirits instantly lifted. His eyes widened like copper bells as he cautiously guided Lightning closer.

Through the layers of foliage, he saw a Sika Deer leisurely drinking water by a stream.

The deer was lithe and graceful, its spots shimmering with an enchanting luster under the sun, like an elf of the forest.

"Nice! I can't let the cooked duck fly away this time." Lu Fan was so excited he almost shouted. He quickly covered his mouth, fearing he might startle this hard-won prey.

Although he had Animal Affinity, he was in no mood to build a rapport with this deer right now. Taking it down as soon as possible was the priority.

Lu Fan gently drew an arrow, nocked it, and took a deep breath to calm his racing heart.

His hands trembled slightly, not just from tension but from the anticipation of this fine meal.

His eyes were fixed on every move of the Sika Deer, as if the entire world consisted of only him and that deer.

With a "whoosh," the first arrow shot out like a meteor, striking the deer squarely in the neck.

The deer cried out in pain, jerked its head up, and tried to flee.

Lu Fan wasn't about to let it get away easily. He quickly nocked a second arrow and fired. Another "whoosh," and it hit the deer right in the rump.

Dragging its injuries, the deer bolted, but its speed was much slower than before.

"Nice try! Let's see where else you can run." Lu Fan shouted excitedly and gave chase on Lightning.

Though heavily wounded, the deer's will to survive allowed it to burst with incredible power, darting left and right through the mountain forest to evade Lu Fan's pursuit.

Lu Fan pursued relentlessly, cheering himself on as he rode: "Hang in there, it's almost mine. Tonight's dinner depends on you."

And so, man and deer engaged in a thrilling chase through the mountain forest.

The deer would run for a bit, then stop to catch its breath due to the severity of its wounds, and Lu Fan would take the opportunity to close the distance.

Finally, after a long chase, the deer could no longer hold on and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

"Haha, finally got it!" Lu Fan jumped off the horse excitedly and ran over to check his trophy.

The deer had already stopped breathing, its eyes still wide open as if telling of its resentment.

Lu Fan patted the deer's head and said, "Sorry, brother, but I have to survive in this wilderness too. Just consider it doing me and An Lan a huge favor."

The livestream room instantly reached a boiling point:

"I told you! It's fine if the sheep ran away; there's something better waiting."

"As expected, every time Great God Lu Fan makes a move, he never comes back empty-handed."

"Sika Deer meat is even better than that mutton."

"Have you even eaten it, person upstairs?"

"No, but think about it. Those rich bosses try everything to eat something rare; it must be delicious."

Lu Fan was just about to tie the deer onto Lightning's back when his peripheral vision caught sight of clusters of purple things hanging on the nearby stone wall.

He moved closer to look and cried out in surprise, "Wow! Aren't these wild grapes? This really is an unexpected joy!"

The wild grapes on the stone wall were densely packed, each one plump and round. They shimmered with an inviting luster under the sunlight, like clusters of purple gemstones.

Lu Fan disregarded his sweat and fatigue and immediately reached out to pick them. These wild grapes grew on the stone wall, and some spots were quite hard to reach, but fortunately, Lu Fan's physical fitness was quite strong.

He was like a nimble monkey, jumping up and down, climbing onto rocks one moment and stretching his arm to reach the grapes growing high up the next.

"This cluster is huge. An Lan will definitely like it," Lu Fan muttered to himself while picking.

Before long, he had picked a whole pouch full of wild grapes.

He put the grapes in a basket and looked at his two major harvests, feeling incredibly proud.

"Today really is a bumper harvest. This deer is enough for us to eat for a long time, and these wild grapes... I'll have An Lan make some wild grape jam when I get back. It'll definitely be delicious."

As Lu Fan thought about it, his mouth almost started watering. "It really is a blessing in disguise."

He laboriously moved the deer onto Lightning's back, hung the wild grapes next to the saddle, and then flipped himself onto the horse.

"Let's go, Lightning. Let's head home." Lu Fan patted Lightning's neck and rode cheerfully toward the Shelter.

Along the way, he even hummed a little tune. Although he was terribly out of tune, he was completely oblivious, immersed in the joy of the harvest.
