94: Discover living water

An Lan looked smug, her lips curling up as she smiled and said, "How's that? Now you know how good I am! Who was it that just said I needed more practice?"

Her tone was full of the pride of victory, and her eyes were sparkling.

Although Lu Fan was unwilling to accept it, he still refused to admit defeat. With his neck stiffened, he said, "This was just an accident. I'll definitely win it back in the next round."

He clenched his fists tightly, a look of stubbornness in his eyes, as if he were already planning the victory of the next round in his mind.

However, in the next few rounds, Lu Fan was beaten by An Lan until he had no strength to fight back, losing every single round completely.

At the end of each round, An Lan would show a faint smile, her expression filled with a bit of teasing, as she asked Lu Fan softly, "Want another round?"

"Haha, won again! I think you're destined to lose to me today!" An Lan teased with a laugh, her clear laughter echoing in the air like the pleasant sound of silver bells.

Lu Fan sighed helplessly, his face filled with resignation and admiration: "You're improving too fast; you're simply a genius."

He couldn't help but wonder to himself: "Wait, where's my prompt sound?"

In the livestream room, the audience was laughing heartily at their intense yet interesting gomoku battle, and the barrage comments were rolling frantically like snowflakes.

"Haha, I didn't expect even Great God Lu Fan to have times when he gets crushed. It's too funny!"

"An Lan's comeback is too amazing. She was being suppressed by Lu Fan before, but now she's counter-killing him!"

"As the old saying goes: a child doesn't cry every day, and one doesn't lose at chess every day. Well, I've seen it now—it really happens."

"If I were there, I would definitely cheer for An Lan and watch her beat Lu Fan to a pulp!"

"I think Great God Lu Fan could play against Da Hei; he'd definitely win every time."

"What the heck? Humans vs. AlphaGo?"

Amidst the laughter, time flew by like a white horse passing a crevice. Before they knew it, the night had grown deep.

The moon hung high in the sky like a silver plate, casting a silvery-white glow that draped a mysterious veil over the entire Shelter. Everything seemed so peaceful and beautiful.

Da Hei was already fast asleep on the side, snoring steadily. Big Horn was also lying quietly on the ground resting, occasionally flicking its tail.

Early the next morning, before the sunlight had a chance to fully wake the earth, Lu Fan suddenly leaped up from his sleep.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead, recalling the scene in his dream where he was miserably crushed by An Lan at gomoku. He still felt a lingering fear: "That was too terrifying."

Walking out of the room, he saw An Lan milking Baa Baa. However, her technique was unskilled. She was so anxious that her forehead was slightly perspiring, and she couldn't squeeze out much even after a long time.

Lu Fan walked over with a smile and said gently, "Let me do it. Your technique is wrong. I'll give you a demonstration."

As he spoke, he crouched down, patiently explaining to An Lan while skillfully milking.

After just a short while, he had milked a full large bowl. The white goat milk rippled in the bowl, emitting a faint milky fragrance.

Then, Lu Fan fed some fodder to Baa Baa, Big Horn, and Shan Dian.

Looking at these cute animals, his heart was full of warmth. Without realizing it, the household already had so many members; it was becoming more and more like a cozy family.

Breakfast was hot goat milk plus lamb chops—the ultimate 'original soup digests the original food' meal.

The steaming goat milk and the fragrant lamb chops greatly increased one's appetite.

"What are we going to do later?" After finishing breakfast, An Lan asked curiously while wiping her mouth.

"Let's go find a piece of land to prepare for planting Taro and chili peppers!" Lu Fan thought for a moment and said seriously.

Hearing this, An Lan immediately perked up, her eyes shining with excitement: "Great! I was just looking for something to do!"

The two of them packed up briefly and set off, carrying tools like hoes and shovels.

They searched for suitable flat ground along the small paths around the Shelter, their eyes scanning every corner like searchlights, carefully observing every patch of land.

As Lu Fan walked, he muttered, "Good land, oh good land, where on earth are you hiding? Don't make me look for too long."

An Lan couldn't help but laugh on the side, her laughter clear as silver bells: "Are you talking to the land? Can it hear you?"

"The land might not necessarily hear me, but the Heavens definitely can. Do you believe me?" Lu Fan replied solemnly.

[There is a piece of Living Water Land at the foot of the slope 1600 meters ahead.]

The sudden heavenly dao prompt sound startled Lu Fan, but in the next second, he beamed with joy, his face radiant with happiness: "Who says the earth can't hear? It's already told me."

He said with conviction, as if he had received divine guidance.

"Follow me, I'll take you to find the land," Lu Fan said with full confidence. His firm gaze seemed to tell An Lan that victory was just ahead.

Seeing Lu Fan's confident look, An Lan also started to believe him a little, though she still asked, "Really?"

But she still quickly followed him.

More than ten minutes later, Lu Fan brought An Lan to that precious piece of land.

This place was located at the confluence of the foot of two mountains. Due to the impact of the water flow, a piece of low-lying flat land had been formed.

However, this place was overgrown with grass, and the grass grew extremely lush, already waist-high. When the breeze blew, the waves of grass rose and fell like a green ocean.

An Lan couldn't help but ask, "This is the 'good land' you mentioned? I think it's just because you're lazy."

She looked back; it was only about two thousand meters away from the Shelter, and she could even see the outline of the Shelter.

"Do I look like that kind of person?" Lu Fan asked back with a smile, a hint of mischief in his eyes.

After saying that, Lu Fan used his knife to cut the grass and throw it aside. After a while, the situation underneath was revealed.

The sight before them made their eyes light up. The soil of this land was deep black, as if it had been dyed with ink, and it looked somewhat viscous.

With a gentle squeeze of the hand, one could feel the perfect amount of moisture, as if every inch of the soil was telling of its own fertility, emitting the unique fragrance of earth.

"This is the place, exactly!" Lu Fan excitedly showed the soil to An Lan.

"This soil is so rich, and it's actually so moist." An Lan's eyes shone as she spoke excitedly.

She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and often came into contact with the planting of medicinal herbs, so she naturally knew that this soil was very fertile and was a rare treasure for planting.

"How did you find it?" An Lan asked curiously, her eyes full of doubt.

"God told me." Lu Fan pointed mysteriously at the sky.

The heavenly dao prompt sound... God... no problem there.

An Lan rolled her eyes and pretended to be angry, saying, "If you don't want to say, then forget it."

Seeing An Lan's playful manner, Lu Fan explained patiently, "Actually, if you observe carefully, you'll find that the area around our Shelter is actually a huge Alluvial Fan.

When I built the Shelter here, I also took this into account. It's extremely easy to find water flow here. Sure enough, I've already found two water sources.

And this place, situated between the paths of two mountains, most likely has groundwater below."

Hearing Lu Fan's explanation, An Lan showed a surprised expression, her eyes full of admiration: "I didn't expect you to consider so much. No wonder you're so amazing."

In the livestream room, the audience was also attracted by this wonderful scene and expressed their admiration one after another.

"Wow, so familiar. High school geography knowledge."

"I've learned something new. Great God Lu Fan lives up to his reputation."

"Although I don't quite understand it, it seems very impressive."

"Based on my 30-plus years of farming experience, this is a rare piece of Living Water Land."

"What's Living Water Land?"

The host, Wang Tao, was also struck with admiration: "I didn't expect Contestant Lu Fan to consider so many factors when establishing the Shelter."

After saying that, he looked at Zhao Hangjun again: "Teacher Zhao, can you explain 'Living Water Land' to us?"

Zhao Hangjun smiled and explained patiently, "Actually, this 'Living Water Land' is not a very strict or unified professional term, but it can generally be understood as land with the following characteristics: there are surface runoffs like rivers or streams passing near the land, providing a stable water supply and keeping the land moist; there is abundant flowing groundwater below, and the groundwater will naturally emerge through springs and other forms, keeping the land in a moist state for a long time."

After explaining to An Lan, Lu Fan decided to clear the grass first.

At first, Lu Fan used his knife to cut the grass. Although the knife was sharp, it was not easy to apply force due to its shape. After cutting for a while, he was panting for breath.

"If I had known, I would have forged a sickle back then," he said with some annoyance.

However, it was clearly too late to go and make a sickle now.

So, Lu Fan simply used a large shovel, shoveling up the grass along with the soil and sending it flying.
