85: Forgot about Big Black

An Lan blinked her lively eyes and racked her brain along with him, but no matter how hard she thought, she couldn't guess what important thing Lu Fan had forgotten.

Just then, the sharp-eyed viewers in the livestream room were the first to spot the clue.

"Guys, I found it! Da Hei didn't come back!"

As soon as this barrage comment appeared, it was like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, instantly stirring up a thousand waves as it was frantically spammed.

Following that, all sorts of humorous and teasing barrage comments came pouring in like a surging tide.

"Hahaha, Great God Lu has An Lan now, so he's forgotten Da Hei and thrown him 108,000 miles away!"

"Da Hei must feel so wronged. They agreed to brave the wilderness together, but the master got a 'new flame' halfway and left him behind."

"Poor Da Hei, I wonder if he's lost out there, eagerly waiting for his master to find him."

Suddenly, An Lan had a flash of inspiration. A light flickered in her eyes as she looked at Lu Fan and asked, "Where's Da Hei?"

Lu Fan slapped his forehead abruptly, his face full of regret as he realized, "Oh! That's right! I actually forgot about him!"

With that, he prepared to head out in a panic to search for Da Hei.

An Lan wanted to go along, but Lu Fan firmly refused. He said with a look of concern, "Your foot hasn't fully recovered yet. Don't go running around and tiring yourself out with me. Just stay here and rest well."

An Lan had no choice but to stand there helplessly, her eyes filled with worry as she urged, "Then you must be careful and come back early."

Lu Fan followed the path he had taken before, searching carefully along the way while shouting Da Hei's name loudly: "Da Hei, where are you? Come back!"

After searching for a while, he finally found Da Hei near a dense patch of bushes.

At this moment, Da Hei was happily jumping around in the grass, looking just like a carefree silly dog.

"Da Hei, come here!" Lu Fan shouted.

Hearing Lu Fan's voice, Da Hei's ears instantly perked up. He ran over excitedly, his tail wagging like a rattle.

"You silly dog, why did you run off here by yourself?" Lu Fan said, petting Da Hei's head while shifting the blame onto him.

Da Hei looked completely bewildered: "????"

He couldn't understand Lu Fan's slightly "sinister" words at all and continued to circle Lu Fan excitedly, occasionally nuzzling his legs affectionately as if expressing how much he missed him.

"Let's go, follow me back."

Lu Fan led Da Hei back, muttering solemnly on the way, "Next time you get lost, remember to call."

The livestream room was immediately filled with laughter.

"Hahaha, what a great way to shift the blame. Great God Lu's move is too funny."

"Da Hei is probably thinking: I ran off? Are you sure it wasn't you who forgot me?"

"Great God Lu Fan was so busy building a house for An Lan that his head was spinning. How could he have time for Da Hei? Didn't you see how he was swinging the axe so hard sparks flew just to get back sooner?"

Back at the Shelter, An Lan came out to meet them early on. Seeing that Da Hei was safe and sound, the heart she had been holding in suspense finally relaxed.

"I'm so glad we found you," An Lan said to Da Hei with a smile, her eyes full of tenderness.

Da Hei was also very enthusiastic, immediately running to An Lan's legs and nuzzling her as if acting spoiled.

An Lan plucked up her courage and gently petted Da Hei's fur twice. A satisfied smile appeared on her face as she thought: The texture is really nice (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Without resting for even a moment, Lu Fan immediately set to work with great energy to prepare a shed for Lightning.

He once again carefully selected some bamboo of moderate thickness and tough texture, then began skillfully shaving bamboo slices and cutting bamboo strips.

Every movement was smooth and powerful, fully displaying his ingenuity.

An Lan thoughtfully helped by handing him tools and occasionally discussed the shed's design with Lu Fan.

"Do you think Lightning's shed should be a bit bigger? That way, it can move around more freely and conveniently," An Lan asked seriously, her eyes blinking.

Lu Fan paused his movements, thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "You have a point. Let's expand the area a bit more so Lightning can live more comfortably."

Amidst their lively discussion, the shed for Lightning gradually took on a clear shape.

The viewers in the livestream room also watched intently and with great interest, constantly sending barrage comments of praise.

"Great God Lu's hands-on ability is simply invincible. It's amazing!"

"An Lan and Lu Fan cooperate so well. The chemistry is practically overflowing from the screen. So sweet!"

"Great God Ling Yue is still somewhere else talking to monkeys."

"Hahahaha, as long as the world where Great God Ling Yue gets hurt is achieved."

Soon, with Lu Fan's hard work, a spacious and comfortable shed was perfectly built.

Lu Fan carefully led Lightning inside. Lightning seemed very satisfied with this new home, happily swishing its tail and letting out a few joyful neighs from time to time.

"There we go, everyone has their own dedicated space now," Lu Fan said, looking at the fruits of his labor with satisfaction.

An Lan smiled and said, "Yes, it's all thanks to your hard work. Otherwise, how could we have such a nice home?"

Next was decorating An Lan's room.

Lu Fan meticulously built a bamboo bed for her, then carefully laid out a soft bamboo mat and dry hay.

"I can't help it; the current conditions are limited, so this will have to do for now. If it's cold at night, you can cover up with a grass mat. I wove it very densely, so it won't be too hard," Lu Fan said with a hint of apology.

Looking at these thoughtful arrangements, An Lan's eyes couldn't help but light up. She said with surprise, "This is already very good. It's much better than my previous Shelter. I had nothing there."

Then, like a magic trick, Lu Fan provided An Lan with some practical daily necessities.

"This is paper I made myself. It might be a bit rough, but I'll research and improve it later.

And this water cup, I fired it myself. It might look a bit ugly, so don't mind it. Also, here's a small table for you to make it easier to study medicinal herbs.

Oh, and the toilet is in the back. Make sure you can find it when you need it."

Seeing Lu Fan take out these things one after another, An Lan was deeply moved and couldn't help but marvel, "I never believed in geniuses before, but now I truly do. You really were born for Wilderness Survival. You're incredible."

Hearing An Lan's generous praise, Lu Fan smiled a bit sheepishly, scratched his head, and said, "Hahaha, maybe I specialized in this in my past life, which is why I'm so skilled in this one."

Looking at Lu Fan in his clean sheepskin clothes, looking dashing and at ease, then looking at her own clothes covered in mud and grass, so dirty they looked like they had just been fished out of a swamp, and then at this clean, orderly room.

A strong desire welled up inside An Lan—she desperately wanted to take a satisfying bath and completely shed this thick "armor of filth" from her body.

Lu Fan's keen observation instantly captured the fleeting desire in An Lan's eyes.

The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, revealing a teasing smile as he asked softly, "What, want to take a bath?"

An Lan blushed a bit with embarrassment, like a shy young girl, and nodded gently.

"Alright, leave it to me!"

As Lu Fan spoke, he nimbly rummaged through and found his clean clothes, stuffing them all into An Lan's arms.

"Make do with mine for now. I've already washed them clean. You don't mind, do you?"

An Lan happily took the clothes, her voice as quiet as a mosquito's hum: "Thank you, I don't mind..."

Immediately after, Lu Fan began to shout loudly, "Da Hei, come here! I have an important mission for you today!"

Upon hearing this, Da Hei rushed over like an arrow from a bow, his tail wagging like a propeller, incredibly excited as if saying, "Master, whatever the mission is, just give the order!"

"And you, Big Horn!"

Lu Fan patted Big Horn's sturdy body. "Take An Lan for a ride."

Big Horn seemed to understand. It shook its head and let out a low cry, as if responding: "Don't worry, leave it to me! I'll definitely deliver An Lan safely."

Everything ready, Lu Fan took out the homemade honey locust cleanser from the room. Then he warmly greeted An Lan: "An Lan, you ride on Big Horn."

With Lu Fan's support, An Lan sat on Big Horn's back somewhat nervously. "Don't be afraid, Big Horn is very gentle," Lu Fan comforted her softly.

Hearing Lu Fan's words, Big Horn gently shook its antlers as if to prove its gentleness. An Lan also gradually felt at ease, a peaceful smile appearing on her face.

The livestream room became lively again.

"Kalba: Gentle? Are you serious? It sent me packing directly, and you call this gentle?"

"Hahaha, Kalba is the man who heroically sacrificed himself after resisting two charges with his body."

"Laugh at the meme, not the man. Kalba is a real man."

"Wow, Great God Lu Fan is so gentle and thoughtful."

"I want a Big Horn too. I feel like riding it would be so majestic."
