33: Papermaking in progress

The pickled Sour Peppers were sour and spicy, appetizing and refreshing, making them a great addition to any dish or meal.

In the livestream room.

“Hahaha, this looks so familiar; my mom pickles this every year.”

“We call them 'pickled chili sauce' in our area.”

“Hehe, I finally found something in common with the Great God; I know how to make this too.”

“The Great God can do it, and I can do it, therefore I = Great God.”

After pickling the peppers, Lu Fan couldn't help but nod in satisfaction.

“Not bad, not bad. That's another dish sorted for later.”

Having finished with the peppers, Lu Fan went back to bed to sleep.

“I won't weave baskets tonight; my butt hurts too much.”

The next day, Lu Fan woke up very early and brewed another pot of pteris multifida to drink.

This morning, he prepared a relatively light breakfast—Honey Coconut Milk Taro Balls.

Lu Fan steamed the Taro until cooked, then kneaded it into small round balls before quickly placing them in cold water to set their shape.

Then, he used coconut milk and honey to simmer a soup, adding the Taro balls once the soup reached a boil.

“Mmm, very comfortable,” Lu Fan evaluated after taking a sip.

Although he couldn't make the Taro balls chewy and bouncy yet, the soft and glutinous texture was also very good and sweet.

livestream room.

“Wow, homemade milk tea?”

“A guy who can make milk tea is simply invincible, okay~”

“I'm going to order a cup of Taro Ball Boba to drink too.”

“I'm already drinking one. Cheers, Great God Lu Fan!”

After finishing breakfast, Lu Fan set out to find materials.

Today, his goal was to try and make paper, changing his lifestyle of using leaves and bamboo strips to wipe his butt.

“This thicket looks promising; maybe I can find something here,” Lu Fan thought to himself as he stepped into the bushes.

Inside the thicket, sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled shadows, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of soil and plants.

【Discovered Blueberries】

“Blueberries! These are good stuff; they can provide me with vitamins.” Lu Fan excitedly picked some blueberries and put them in his basket.

livestream room.

“Hahaha, he finally triggered it for blueberries. That's several dozen catties!”

“I remember we were mocking that Andre guy back then.”

“Hahaha, Great God Lu Fan has finally achieved in passing what took Andre several days.”

Lu Fan directly ate a handful of blueberries, finding them sweet and sour.

Next, Lu Fan began searching for paper-making materials again.

With the help of the heavenly dao prompt sound, it wasn't too difficult.

【Discovered high-fiber plant: 'Paper Mulberry'】

Lu Fan walked up and touched it; to be honest, he didn't actually recognize this thing.

The bark fiber of the Paper Mulberry was soft in texture, making it very suitable for making paper.

Lu Fan carefully peeled off the bark of the Paper Mulberry with his dagger and then put the bark into his basket.

“What is Lu Fan doing? Why is he collecting bark!”

“He couldn't be trying to make paper, could he? That would be too amazing!”

Wang Tao also said curiously, “What is Lu Fan doing? It looks quite complicated.”

Zhao Hangjun provided some knowledge: “Paper Mulberry bark fiber is soft in texture and is an excellent material for making paper.”

“So he really is going to make paper. Great God Lu Fan is too strong.”

After collecting enough Paper Mulberry bark, Lu Fan returned to the Shelter.

He put the bark into water to soak; after a few hours, the bark became much softer.

Lu Fan fished out the bark, placed it on a flat stone, and gently tapped it with a wooden mallet to break up the fibers.

He checked as he tapped, ensuring the fibers were completely separated.

This tapping required skill; if it was too light, the fibers wouldn't separate thoroughly, and if it was too heavy, the fibers would be smashed apart.

Seeing this scene, the viewers in the livestream room flooded the barrage comments: “Lu Fan's craftsmanship is superb; he can even make paper himself.”

“This Paper Mulberry bark looks very useful; I want to try it too.”

Wang Tao: “Contestant Lu Fan truly deserves the title of 'Great God'; he has actually mastered so many practical skills.”

Yu Rui couldn't help but lean closer to the screen: “Great God Lu Fan is truly amazing; he knows how to do everything. He must be the most capable among all the survivors.”

After the fibers were broken up, Lu Fan put them into a large basin, added an appropriate amount of clean water, and stirred it evenly with a wooden stick to form paper pulp.

Then, he found a screen woven from fine bamboo strips, poured the pulp evenly onto the screen, and gently shook the screen to let the pulp spread out evenly.

“I hope this succeeds, otherwise it'll be a waste of my golden finger,” Lu Fan thought to himself, his hands never stopping.

Once the pulp was spread, Lu Fan placed the screen in the sun to dry.

He checked the dryness of the paper from time to time to ensure it dried evenly.

After several hours of drying, the paper gradually dried out, and the fibers bonded tightly together, forming a soft yet tough pale-yellow sheet.

Lu Fan picked up a sheet; it was translucent against the light and felt soft to the touch.

“Haha, success!” Lu Fan couldn't help but laugh out loud. From now on, the days of wiping his butt with leaves were gone forever.

Thinking of this, Lu Fan was simply riding high on his success.

“Lu Fan is too amazing; he really made paper!”

“This paper looks so soft; I want to try it too.”

“Great God Lu Fan's practical ability is too strong; he can even make paper himself. He's truly versatile.”

“This is probably the first person to make paper in the wilderness, right? I wonder who else could do it.”

“More than that, he's already left the other contestants far behind in other aspects as well.”

After the success of the first experiment, Lu Fan continued making more until all the materials were used up.

Every available space in the Shelter was covered with drying paper.

After finishing this, Lu Fan began preparing dinner.

He decided to make a Blueberry Pork Chop to reward himself.

He took a fresh and tender pork chop from his stored ingredients; the texture of this pork chop was clear, and it had an inviting luster under the sunlight.

Next, he picked up the salt and sprinkled it evenly on both sides of the pork chop, not missing a single corner, allowing the pork chop to begin radiating a unique charm under the coating of seasoning.

Subsequently, Lu Fan lit the stove, placed a stone slab over the fire, and added a lump of lard.

As the oil temperature rose, the bottom of the pan began to smoke slightly, and he gently placed the pork chop onto the slab.

Instantly, a 'sizzling' sound rang out, and the pork chop danced happily on the slab, the sound resembling a culinary symphony.

The surface of the pork chop quickly turned golden brown, and the aroma spread with it.

While the pork chop was searing, Lu Fan carefully selected some of the blueberries he had picked earlier and put them in a bowl.

Then he gently crushed them with a spoon, squeezed out the blueberry juice, added a little honey, and stirred it evenly; a unique blueberry sauce was ready.
