222: Chapter 221 Heaven's Dao is a Little Blackie
Lu Fan reached out with trembling hands, fished the card out of the egg liquid, and stared at it, his mouth hanging wide open.
[Resource Card Discovered: ai kun down jacket (Unisex)]
[ai kun down jacket: Carefully crafted from selected premium chicken feathers; provides good warmth, breathable, and snug-fitting.]
[Hidden Buff: Wearing the ai kun down jacket provides a certain boost to basketball skills.]
[Activate?]
..."My goodness, it's actually a down jacket made of chicken feathers! What's going on? You can even get resource cards from eggs?"
Lu Fan looked extremely surprised, but he couldn't hold it for three seconds before he burst out laughing.
"What on earth is an 'ai kun down jacket'? Even the Heavenly Dao is a hater."
An Lan also leaned over, looked at the card, and said between laughter and tears, "Wonders really never cease. This game world is too ridiculous; you can even get a down jacket from eating an egg."
Lu Fan held the card, looking it over, and couldn't help but nod. "Regardless, at least we have clothes to wear now."
An Lan couldn't help but laugh. "Too bad there's no basketball for you to play here."
"I'll make one myself another day," Lu Fan said, closing his eyes.
"Activate."
In an instant, two down jackets appeared on the ground.
The design of the down jackets was fairly normal; it wasn't covered in chicken feathers as Lu Fan had imagined.
It was just a normal black down jacket, only with a basketball drawn on the back.
Lu Fan picked up the jackets; one was a bit larger, the other a bit smaller.
He handed the smaller one to An Lan. "Here, try it on."
Then he put on his own jacket. Not bad, it fit quite well.
[Wilderness Survival Announcement]
[Huaguo Player Lu Fan has triggered the ten thousand times rebate]
[ai kun down jacket 2 * 10 million]
The next moment, the barrage comments in the livestream room began scrolling frantically:
"Holy crap, an ai kun down jacket? This is on par with the Ai Kun phone."
"Getting a down jacket from an egg—this setting is peak."
"Wait, basketball skills improve when you wear it? This is too abstract."
"Confirmed: the game designer is a hater."
"Maybe this jacket even has hidden skills, like triggering an Iron Mountain Lean or something."
"I'm really done with you anti-fans. Brother Kun didn't even do anything, and you've been hating on him for so many years."
"Hey, you're wrong there. Quite the opposite—we're the true fans."
Lu Fan and An Lan moved around in the jackets; the flexibility was excellent, and the warmth was great too.
However, after trying them on, they took them off again. After all, they roamed the forest every day, and the jackets wouldn't hold up well.
The night fell like a vast sheet of black silk, gently covering the entire wilderness. Only in Lu Fan and An Lan's Shelter did the warm glow of the campfire flicker.
The two sat in the yard, their shadows stretched long by the firelight, dancing freely on the ground.
An Lan poked at the campfire, sparks flying, much like her active thoughts at the moment. "You know, now that we don't have to worry about food or clothing, we should focus all our energy on finding resource cards. We might find some real treasures that could be of great use to our country."
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, as if those precious resource cards were already before her.
Lu Fan stretched, his bones letting out a "creak" as if they were cheering for freedom.
"Oh, Teacher An, I don't see it that way. Look at this wilderness; unknown dangers are everywhere. Who knows when a gust of wind might blow and some mysterious creature will snatch us away for a midnight snack?"
"So, the most important thing right now is to improve our quality of life and enjoy our time in the wilderness. Then we can think about bringing glory to the country."
He spoke with a straight face, yet there was a hint of a teasing smile on it.
"Don't be a jinx," An Lan said with a laugh.
As they were chatting happily, their friendly neighbor, the Monkey King, arrived.
The Monkey King swaggered into the Shelter, with two Little Monkeys following closely behind like sidekicks.
Its homemade grass skirt was pieced together from large leaves and tough vines, swaying as it walked and occasionally revealing its furry thighs.
Most eye-catching was the pineapple perched on its head, making it look like a walking tropical fruit billboard.
"Holy crap, King Jiji!"
When Lu Fan saw the Monkey King, he almost spat out his water.
The Monkey King seemed to understand his teasing; it puffed out its chest and spun around proudly, showing off its "fashionable outfit."
Then it let out two "squeaks," gesturing for the Little Monkeys behind it to put down the pineapples they were carrying.
An Lan's eyes lit up at the pile of golden pineapples. "Pineapples! What a pleasant surprise! It seems the Monkey troop's recent exploration has been quite fruitful."
Lu Fan stepped forward and patted the Monkey King's shoulder. "Not bad! You know to bring us good food. You're a real pal! But where did you get that pineapple hat? It perfectly matches your vibe."
The Monkey King grinned, revealing two rows of small sharp teeth as if it were laughing. It "squeaked" a few more times and gestured wildly, seemingly recounting the thrilling story of how they found the pineapples.
"I think this monkey might actually understand us,"
Lu Fan said, turning to An Lan. "Look at its expressions and gestures; it's like it's telling a story."
An Lan nodded with a smile. "Yeah, they're very smart. Maybe before long, they'll actually develop their own civilization. We'd be witnessing history then, wouldn't we?"
The Monkey King and the two monkeys danced around as if performing a stage play.
Seeing the lively scene, An Lan couldn't help but say, "How about we roast a rabbit for the Monkey King as a return gift?"
"Great idea!"
Lu Fan slapped his thigh. "Let King Jiji have a taste of our cooking."
"There you go again, giving them random names," An Lan said, unable to stop herself from laughing at the name King Jiji.
With that, Lu Fan went into the house, brought out a rabbit he had hunted earlier, and began skillfully preparing it.
As he worked, he muttered to the Monkey King, "King Jiji, watch closely. This roast rabbit is my specialty. In a bit, I guarantee you won't be able to stop eating."
The Monkey King crouched nearby, watching Lu Fan's movements without blinking, occasionally mimicking them with its claws as if learning.
Although they had started trying to roast meat themselves, they hadn't mastered the timing yet, so the Monkey King watched extremely intently.
Meanwhile, An Lan prepared the seasoning. She crushed various spices and mixed them together, releasing an enticing aroma.
When the Monkey King smelled the aroma, its nose twitched, and it looked like it was about to drool.
Once the rabbit was prepared, Lu Fan skewered it on a branch and set it over the campfire to roast.
He kept rotating the branch so the rabbit would cook evenly. Before long, the surface of the rabbit began to turn golden.
The Monkey King and the Little Monkeys gathered around, staring intently at the roasting rabbit, their throats making "grumbling" sounds.
"Don't rush, it'll be ready soon,"
Lu Fan said with a smile. "Wait a bit longer until the skin is nice and crispy—then it'll be even better."
Finally, the roast rabbit was done. Lu Fan took it off the fire, sliced it into small pieces with a knife, placed them on a large leaf, and handed it to the Monkey King.
