69: Rabbit fur slippers, the reunion of Kalba and Meichuan Neiku

After finishing the roasted mutton, Lu Fan went to feed fodder to Big Horn and Baa Baa.

Big Horn affectionately nudged Lu Fan with the top of its head, letting out a low cry as if complaining: "Why didn't you take me out?"

Lu Fan subconsciously touched its antlers and joked, "Speaking of which, I wonder what these antlers would taste like..."

As if it understood, Big Horn backed away warily and let out another low cry.

"Hahaha, just kidding, don't take it seriously." Lu Fan couldn't help but laugh at Big Horn's reaction.

This scene was fully witnessed by the viewers in the livestream room, and barrage comments instantly filled the screen.

"Big Horn: Family, who understands this? Working myself to death every day, only for the black-hearted boss to lust after my body."

"Lu Fan: Is that half-step back movement for real?"

"This is how a crisis of trust is born."

"Great God Lu Fan wants to eat everything."

Returning to the house, Lu Fan looked at the mountain of supplies piled in the corner and decided to organize them properly.

While rummaging, he found that the rabbit skins he had saved before had dried just right; each one was flat and dry, with a faint luster.

"Hey, these rabbit skins can finally be put to use."

Lu Fan's eyes lit up as he calculated in his mind, "Making a pair of slippers would be perfect. They'll definitely be warm to wear in winter."

Action is better than hesitation, so Lu Fan grabbed his dagger, ready to show off his skills.

He picked up a rabbit skin, carefully measured it against his foot, then gripped the dagger and cautiously cut along the outline.

"This dagger is too awkward to use. I'll have to make a pair of scissors when I have time."

Lu Fan grumbled while exerting a tremendous amount of effort to finally cut out two soles that were roughly the same shape.

Next, he carefully selected two soft rabbit skins to use for the uppers.

The process of sewing the uppers wasn't easy; every time he used the dagger to poke a hole, it felt like a contest with himself.

Several times, the sharp dagger pricked his finger. "Hiss—luckily I have a good constitution."

Lu Fan sucked in a breath of cold air, looked at the red marks on his finger, and sighed with a bitter smile, "This handicraft stuff really isn't easy."

But he didn't back down at all, continuing to grit his teeth as he poked holes and threaded the line, muttering, "Persistence is victory. Once they're done, I'll wear them every day."

Just as he was fully focused on sewing the uppers, Da Hei approached at some point.

It stared curiously at the rabbit skin in Lu Fan's hand and even stretched out its nose to sniff it vigorously.

"Da Hei, don't cause trouble," Lu Fan said while hiding the rabbit skin behind his back.

But Da Hei was persistent, circling around Lu Fan non-stop and occasionally scratching at his leg with its paws.

"You silly dog, do you think this is a toy prepared for you?"

Lu Fan smiled helplessly, held up one of the uppers he had just finished sewing in front of Da Hei, and explained, "Look, this isn't for you. These are slippers I'm going to wear."

Da Hei tilted its head with a confused look, stared at the upper for a while, and then, finding it uninteresting, wagged its tail and walked away.

After all the holes were drilled, Lu Fan used the dagger to cut two thin strips of goatskin to use as thread, since he hadn't found a more suitable thread yet.

After a lot of effort, the two slippers were finally completed.

Lu Fan couldn't wait to put them on and walked around the room a few times.

"Hey, they fit quite well! As for the appearance..." Looking at the uniquely styled slippers on his feet, Lu Fan couldn't help but laugh.

Although the look was a bit comical, they felt warm and comfortable on his feet.

"Not bad, not bad. This counts as being well-fed and well-clothed through one's own efforts." Lu Fan was very satisfied with his work.

There was another burst of excitement in the livestream room.

"Wow, such cute slippers, I want them too."

"Rabbit: Of course, they're dead cute..."

"The style of these slippers doesn't suit Great God Lu Fan's masculine aura. Mail them to me."

"I can hear your abacus clicking all the way in Gangdong, handsome."

"I didn't expect Great God Lu Fan, a guy, to know how to sew."

"Actually, children from poor families all know how."

After organizing the rabbit skins, Lu Fan immediately began to take stock of other supplies without stopping.

He found that the stored herbs were almost gone and he had to collect more as soon as possible; herbs were indispensable for Wilderness Survival.

Also, the tools used for hunting needed to be carefully checked and repaired, otherwise, it would be troublesome the next time he encountered large prey.

"Looks like I'll be busy again tomorrow," Lu Fan said to himself.

As it grew dark, Lu Fan couldn't help but yawn.

At that moment, the cry of an owl came from outside the window, breaking the silence of the night. Lu Fan walked to the window and looked at the pitch-black night sky; the stars were twinkling, and his thoughts drifted far away.

He thought of the herd of wild horses he had found during the day and mused about bringing more equipment for the next exploration; perhaps he would discover even more interesting things.

In this place far from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lu Fan's life was simple yet full of challenges and surprises.

Every day, he was in close contact with nature, learning how to survive in the wilderness and constantly exploring the mysteries of nature.

"Da Hei, our days together are still long. There will definitely be more fun things in the future," Lu Fan said to Da Hei, who was lying on the ground.

Da Hei raised its head and wagged its tail as if responding to its master.

Soon, Lu Fan went to his room and fell into a dreamland, while Da Hei lay in its kennel; although its eyes were closed, it remained alert at all times.

Most of the other contestants also fell asleep one after another, and the livestream room gradually became quiet.

But the soundly sleeping Lu Fan was completely unaware that about 60 kilometers away, a conspiracy against him was quietly brewing.

Around four o'clock in the morning, Kalba from America and Meichuan Neiku from Japan finally successfully met up.

Taking advantage of the night, Kalba secretly slipped into Meichuan Neiku's Shelter—strictly speaking, this was originally Otto's Shelter.

Inside the Shelter, the tall and burly Kalba, with a face full of rough flesh, had a gaze filled with ruthlessness and greed.

The short and wretched Meichuan Neiku exuded a sinister aura.

"Mr. Kalba, I hope our cooperation will be pleasant," Meichuan Neiku said in broken American English.

It turned out that Meichuan Neiku had received barrage instructions from Japan a day ago.

[Wilderness Survival Barrage (50 words can be sent per week)]

[Wait in place, meet with Kalba from the Pretty Country, cooperate to seize the Chinese contestant's supplies. An Lan is 50km Northwest, Lu Fan is 60km Southeast.]

"Mr. Kalba, Lu Fan is 60 kilometers to our southeast, and there's also an An Lan 50 kilometers to the northwest."

Meichuan Neiku reported with a face full of fawning.

"Hmph, we'll split into two groups and set off at the same time. I'll go to Lu Fan's side, and you go to An Lan's side. Capture them and make Huaguo cede territory and pay indemnities to us, hahahaha."

Kalba laughed arrogantly.

Meichuan Neiku cautiously proposed: "Mr. Kalba, shouldn't we be more steady and act together? I can also poison them."

Kalba snorted disdainfully: "Do we really need two people to deal with a mere Lu Fan?! He's just had a bit of good luck. I can handle him by myself. Or are you saying you can't even deal with a woman?"

Meichuan Neiku hurriedly nodded and bowed: "Yes, yes, yes, everything will be as Mr. Kalba says."
