63: Making beehives

Wang Tao said excitedly in the livestream room: "Teacher Zhao, tell us quickly, from a scientific perspective, how can this be explained?"

Zhao Hangjun pushed up his glasses and said with an amazed yet serious expression: "Scientifically speaking, there are many ways animals communicate that we haven't fully understood yet."

It could be through scent, sound frequencies, or some subtle bioelectric signals."

Lu Fan might have mastered this special pattern, or perhaps he captured and responded to these signals."

The goodwill he conveyed to the Bee Queen might have been received in a special way, leading the Bee Queen to accept his actions."

Achieving the goal of controlling the swarm, though we don't know exactly how this method works."

Lu Fan stood under the large tree holding the new hive, his face beaming with a satisfied smile.

However, his gaze soon became focused again as he began to conceive the next step of his plan in his mind.

"Just having this one hive isn't enough; I need to build a more comfortable home for these little guys." He muttered to himself while walking toward the swaying bamboo forest.

No sooner said than done, Lu Fan picked up his axe and strode toward the bamboo forest.

Every swing of the axe was full of energy, making a "thump thump" sound. Before long, three thick bamboo stalks fell.

He carried the bamboo back to the Shelter and began making beehives on the spot.

He skillfully used the axe to split the bamboo into appropriate lengths and widths, then used his sharp dagger to meticulously carve and remove excess parts.

Under his skillful hands, the edges of the bamboo became smooth and flat, so there was no need to worry about scratching the bees.

While working, Lu Fan muttered to himself: "I need to ensure there's enough space for the bees to rest and store honey, and also pay attention to ventilation and warmth so the little guys can work in peace."

His eyes revealed professionalism and focus, as if he were engaged in a sacred creation.

After some careful polishing, three uniquely shaped beehives began to take form.

Lu Fan carefully checked the details of each beehive to ensure there were no flaws.

Once ready, Lu Fan returned to the hive.

He took a deep breath, pushing his Animal Affinity to the limit, and gently conveyed an invitation signal to the swarm.

"Little guys, come see your new home; I guarantee you'll be satisfied." He said softly, his voice full of anticipation.

Miraculously, the bees seemed to understand him, flapping their wings and flying around Lu Fan.

The Bee Queen was the first to fly into the first beehive. After patrolling inside, she stayed in a corner, as if signaling to her companions.

Seeing this, the other bees flew into the beehive one after another, settling down in an orderly fashion.

Lu Fan divided the honeycomb into three parts and placed them into the beehives.

After receiving some kind of instruction, the swarm began to build new nests based on this.

They quickly got into the zone and started their new work.

Lu Fan watched this scene with a smile, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Using the same method, he successfully led some of the bees into the other two beehives.

"There we go, you have three cozy homes now. You can produce honey in peace from now on." He patted the beehive with satisfaction, as if talking to a close friend.

At this moment, Da Hei, who had been watching curiously from the side, couldn't hold back anymore.

It widened its eyes, staring intently at the busy bees, sniffing with its nose from time to time.

Suddenly, as if attracted by something, Da Hei lunged forward, wanting to get a closer look at these "little guests."

"Da Hei, don't cause trouble!" Lu Fan shouted, sensing something was wrong.

But it was too late. Just as Da Hei's nose got close to the beehive, a bee quickly flew out and stung him hard on the mouth.

"Awoo!"

Da Hei let out a miserable cry and jerked back, shaking its head repeatedly to try and shake off the piercing pain.

Its mouth swelled up instantly, looking absolutely ridiculous.

"Hahaha, silly dog, that's what you get for not listening." Lu Fan couldn't help but burst out laughing, but seeing Da Hei's pitiful look, he hurried over to check.

"Don't be afraid, Da Hei, I'll take care of it for you." He comforted Da Hei while rummaging through the Shelter for herbs.

Soon, Lu Fan found an herb with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

He chewed the herb in his mouth and then gently applied it to Da Hei's swollen mouth.

"Bear with it, it'll get better soon." He tried to stroke Da Hei's head as gently as possible.

Da Hei seemed to feel Lu Fan's concern and gradually calmed down, only licking its injured mouth with its tongue occasionally.

The viewers in the livestream room laughed until they were doubled over.

"Da Hei is way too greedy, even daring to mess with bees."

"With that look, Da Hei is basically the spokesperson for 'sausage lips'!"

"I actually saw a living meme, hahaha"

"But Great God Lu's treatment method is very professional; he truly is a wilderness survival expert."

Under Lu Fan's careful care, the swelling on Da Hei's mouth gradually subsided. He returned to his usual goofy self, happily running around the Shelter with his tongue hanging out.

However, this experience seemed to have taught Da Hei a lesson. He watched the beehives from a distance, no longer daring to approach easily.

Meanwhile, the bees quickly adapted to their new home.

After a while, the bees responsible for gathering nectar flew out of the beehives one by one to collect nectar in the distance.

Lu Fan looked at the hardworking bees, his heart filled with joy.

"Little guys, get to work. No slacking off, gather plenty of honey."

"Good grief, what a capitalist! Even the famously hardworking little bees are being exploited."

"This reminds me of my boss, exploiting us every day, and the key is he always thinks we're slacking off."

"Haha, from now on, all the honey made by the little bees belongs to Great God Lu Fan."

At the thought of having endless honey in the future, Lu Fan couldn't help but laugh out loud.

While Lu Fan was lost in fantasies of a sweet future life, a vivid memory of fresh seafood suddenly flashed through his mind.

"It feels like I haven't eaten seafood in a long time; I'm quite craving it."

"Da Hei, let's go. I'll take you to catch fish." Lu Fan shouted to Da Hei.

Then he grabbed the fish basket and that silver-glinting trident.

"Great! \(^▽^)/! It's my favorite beachcombing segment again."

"Let's go!!"

"Lu Fan: I'm the man who's going to become the Pirate King."

"I think Great God Lu Fan is more suited to be the Mountain Bandit King."

As soon as Da Hei heard they were going out, he rushed over with his tongue hanging out.

One man and one dog—no, one wolf—walked toward the seaside.
