167: Animal production team
Before long, a nimble Little Monkey mastered the essence of making brick blanks.
Its movements were skillful; it grabbed an appropriate amount of clay and placed it steadily into the mold.
Then, using its furry little paws, it seriously pressed the clay down stroke after stroke, every movement radiating focus.
Once finished, it held the mold high like a triumphant little hero, showing off its results to its companions with great pride.
It looked as if it were holding a priceless, rare treasure in its hands.
“Nicely done!”
Lu Fan laughed with approval, his smile as bright as the warm spring sun, and he rewarded the Little Monkey with a piece of enticing roasted meat.
The aroma wafted out instantly, and the eyes of the other monkeys lit up with a 'shua,' filled with envy and longing.
They no longer cared for play; they pulled themselves together and threw themselves even harder into the work of making brick blanks.
For a time, the entire grounds were filled with their busy figures and cheerful 'squeaks.'
Watching this bustling scene of labor, Lu Fan was struck by a sudden inspiration, and a great idea popped into his head.
He smiled and walked toward Big Horn and Lightning. First, he affectionately patted Big Horn's solid head, then blew a crisp, loud whistle at Lightning.
The whistle seemed to carry a unique command. Big Horn and Lightning understood immediately, walking with light steps toward a large mound of clay.
“Big Horn, Lightning, I'm counting on you to show your skills!” Lu Fan encouraged with a smile, his eyes full of expectation.
As if receiving a sacred mission, Big Horn and Lightning stepped steadily into the clay pile.
With every step Big Horn took, his thick hooves left deep imprints in the clay, like the footprints of time—steady and powerful.
Lightning was much more cheerful, hopping and jumping around, occasionally flicking its little tail and splashing mud droplets that carried the fragrance of the earth. It was incredibly comical.
One calm and one active, the two of them cooperated perfectly, churning the clay until it was even and fine. They were like two natural mixers, continuously supplying high-quality raw materials for the subsequent processes.
“Haha, you two really are natural mixers!”
An Lan laughed so hard she doubled over, her eyes narrowing into crescents, her face overflowing with happiness and joy.
While Big Horn and Lightning were busy mixing the clay, the Monkey troop was not to be outdone, staying busy in an orderly fashion.
They had a clear division of labor: a few were responsible for quickly transporting the mixed clay to the molds, while others carefully filled the molds and then skillfully demolded them.
They cooperated with tacit understanding and fluid movements, like a well-trained, experienced professional construction crew, with every link connecting seamlessly.
As for Da Hei, he had been lying aside in boredom at first, watching everyone work with interest and occasionally yawning.
Seeing this, Lu Fan strode over, crouched down, lightly patted Da Hei's head, and gave a serious yet somewhat gentle warning.
“Da Hei, listen up. The Monkey troop is now our important partner in building the house; you aren't allowed to bully them. If you dare cause trouble, don't even think about eating fragrant meat again!”
Da Hei seemed to understand completely, drooping his ears and nodding obediently.
He then stood up and paced back and forth nearby, occasionally sweeping a vigilant gaze over the busy Monkey troop, as if guarding them or cheering them on.
With a loud command from Lu Fan, the entire house-building 'assembly line' seemed to be injected with powerful momentum, officially starting to operate efficiently.
Big Horn and Lightning mixed tirelessly in the clay area, the smell of turned earth filling the air.
The monkeys shuttled back and forth between the molding and demolding areas, their small figures busy and determined.
Da Hei dutifully maintained 'order' on the side, occasionally letting out a 'woof' as if cheering everyone on.
With everyone working together, the efficiency was astonishing.
Regularly shaped clay brick blanks appeared continuously on the open ground as if by magic, and before long, they had piled up into a small 'hill.'
An Lan wasn't idle either; she carefully inspected the quality of every brick blank, her gaze focused and serious, not letting any detail slip by.
Once she found a substandard one, she would patiently walk to the monkey responsible and teach them by hand how to improve. Her gentle appearance was like that of a patient teacher.
The monkeys also learned seriously, staring with their round eyes and carefully observing every movement An Lan made, striving to do better.
Time was like a naughty child, running fast, and in the blink of an eye, it was noon.
The sun hung high in the sky, its scorching light spilling unreservedly onto the earth. The entire construction site was enveloped in heat, like a giant steamer.
But everyone's enthusiasm didn't wane in the slightest; instead, it seemed to be ignited by the blazing sun, rising even higher.
“Everyone take a break and get something to eat!” Lu Fan shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing across the site.
He quickly brought out the food he had prepared. Not only was there the monkeys' favorite roasted meat—with its glistening oily color and pungent aroma that made one salivate just from smelling it—
But there were also fresh fruits and plump Nuts, brightly colored and rich in nutrition.
As soon as the monkeys saw the food, they immediately cheered and jumped for joy, swarming forward to eat happily. They occasionally let out satisfied 'squeaks,' sounds that seemed like praise for the delicious food.
Big Horn and Lightning also stopped their busy work, leisurely chewing on fresh fodder to the side, enjoying this moment of peace and comfort.
Da Hei lay on the ground, gnawing on a bone with great relish, occasionally making 'woo-woo' sounds as if saying 'so delicious.'
“I didn't expect today's efficiency to be so high!”
An Lan wiped the fine beads of sweat from her forehead, her face radiant with a gratified smile as she walked to Lu Fan's side and sighed with emotion.
“Yeah, with everyone's help, we're a big step closer to the house of our dreams!”
Looking at the busy and harmonious scene before him, Lu Fan's heart was filled to the brim with a sense of accomplishment and happiness.
His eyes held determination and joy, as if he could already see that warm house standing tall on this land.
After a short break, everyone made some adjustments and threw themselves back into work with renewed vigor.
After a morning of getting into the groove, the afternoon's work was like a machine that had been oiled, proceeding even more smoothly.
The monkeys' movements became increasingly skillful and their speed faster. They had completely mastered the technique of making brick blanks, and every brick was made quickly and well.
Unknowingly, the sun began to sink in the west, and the horizon looked as if nature had knocked over its palette, blooming with brilliant and colorful sunset clouds.
The sunset was like a dreamlike silk ribbon spreading across the sky, draping the entire world in a thin golden veil.
