193: Chapter 192 Extreme Cold Weather Arrives

Just as Lu Fan and An Lan were sitting quietly in the Shelter, vigilantly waiting for the extreme weather to arrive, a familiar "squeak" suddenly broke the silence.

The two looked up at the sound and saw the Monkey King rushing out of the woods in a hurry. It looked panicked, its originally lively eyes now filled with anxiety and worry.

"Yo, why is the Monkey King here, and in such a rush?" Lu Fan asked, full of doubt. He stood up and stared intently at the charging Monkey King.

The Monkey King ran up to Lu Fan and An Lan, first waving its hands eagerly in the air and letting out a series of urgent cries.

Then it reached out its furry paws and grabbed the corners of Lu Fan and An Lan's clothes, single-mindedly trying to pull them toward its nest.

"What's going on?" An Lan also stood up, looking at the Monkey King in confusion.

The Monkey King was frantic. It first pointed at the increasingly gloomy sky, then hugged its arms and shook violently, acting as if it were shivering from the cold.

Seeing the Monkey King's actions, Lu Fan and An Lan instantly realized what was happening.

It turned out the Monkey King had sensed the cold weather was coming and had specifically rushed over to take them to its cave for Shelter.

"Man, this Monkey King is really loyal, coming all this way to give us a heads-up." Lu Fan couldn't help but laugh, his heart filled with emotion.

"Yeah, I didn't expect it to be so smart and still be thinking of us," An Lan said with a smile, her eyes full of warmth.

Lu Fan crouched down, gently patted the Monkey King's head, and said with a smile, "Old friend, thanks for the kind offer, but we're all prepared. We won't be going to your cave."

The Monkey King didn't seem to understand and continued to pull on Lu Fan's clothes, refusing to let go.

"Hey, you little guy, you're quite persistent."

Lu Fan smiled helplessly and continued to explain patiently, "Look, we have this sturdy Brick House and plenty of Coal. Keeping warm won't be a problem at all."

As he spoke, Lu Fan pointed to the pile of Coal stacked like a small mountain nearby, then pointed to the fire.

The Monkey King looked in the direction Lu Fan was pointing, tilting its head as if in deep thought.

After a while, it was still uneasy, pointing at the sky again and then toward its cave.

"Don't worry, we're really fine." An Lan also stepped forward, gently stroking the Monkey King's fur.

The Monkey King finally seemed to understand. It let go of Lu Fan's clothes and stood there, though a hint of worry still lingered in its eyes.

Lu Fan comforted the Monkey King again in a soft voice: "Go back quickly and take care of yourself and your Monkey troop. If you run into danger, come find us."

The Monkey King seemed to understand Lu Fan's words. It nodded and turned to walk back into the woods.

After a few steps, it turned back and took a deep look at Lu Fan and An Lan before disappearing into the depths of the forest.

"This Monkey King is truly loyal and righteous," An Lan remarked.

"Yeah, once this extreme weather passes, let's go visit them and bring some treats," Lu Fan said, a bright smile on his face.

The two returned to the Shelter. Outside, the wind grew increasingly piercing, whistling as it swept past, as if it wanted to overturn the entire world.

The clouds in the sky grew thicker and darker, like a heavy black curtain pressing down oppressively.

"It looks like the extreme weather is about to arrive," Lu Fan said, adding a few more pieces of Coal to the furnace.

"Yeah, we're so well-prepared, we'll definitely make it through safely."

As An Lan spoke, she took out the warm clothes she had organized earlier and checked them carefully once more.

At that moment, the viewers in the livestream room also erupted in excitement.

"This Monkey King is so cute, actually coming to warn Lu Fan and An Lan!"

"Yeah, it feels like they have such a great relationship with the animals. If it were me, I probably wouldn't even dare to get close to these wild animals."

"This kind of bond between humans and animals is truly moving. It makes me think of my brother; I almost let my sister-in-law off, but luckily I held back."

"Hehe, me too. I almost paid back the money I owed my brother, but luckily I held back."

"Damn, what kind of people are those guys upstairs?"

"Great God Lu Fan will definitely be fine. This Brick House is so sturdy, there's plenty of Coal, plus enough food and water. He's all set!"

As the temperature dropped lower and lower, the chill in the air grew heavier, as if even one's breath would instantly turn into ice crystals.

Finally, at dusk, large flakes of snow began to fall from the lead-gray sky. The cold wind roared like a fierce beast, howling wildly across the wilderness.

This heavy snow came unexpectedly. Many contestants hadn't had time to prepare properly and were tightly gripped by the cold.

The Japan contestant Yamamoto was hiding in a small cave. The cave was dark and damp, barely providing Shelter from the wind, and completely unable to resist the bone-chilling cold.

Yamamoto was curled into a ball from the cold, his teeth chattering uncontrollably with a "clatter" sound. He looked like an eggplant withered by frost.

In a panic, he found some dry grass and clumsily covered himself with it, trying to retain a sliver of warmth.

But the dry grass was like a thin layer of paper, unable to block the invasion of the cold.

His lips were frozen purple, and he kept muttering, "I want to go home, I want to go home..."

In the livestream room, the viewers were discussing animatedly.

"Oh, this Yamamoto looks so pitiful, like a frozen dead dog."

"But honestly, this bastard is really tough; he hasn't died after so many close calls."

"Looking at him, it won't be long now. It's best if he dies at the hands of our Chinese contestant, to appease the spirits of our martyrs."

"Well said."

Meanwhile, over with the Pretty Country contestant Andre, things weren't much better.

He was hiding in a Simple Shed he had built. The shed was swaying in the gale, looking like it would be blown to pieces at any second.

To raise his body temperature, Andre was frantically doing push-ups, chanting, "One, two, three..."

But before he could even reach fifty, he was panting for breath, his limbs weak, and he collapsed onto the ground with a "thud."

He gasped for air, looking at the snow dancing outside the shed, his face full of despair: "How am I so unlucky? This damn weather is going to torture me to death!"

Other countries' contestants were also facing various problems.

Some contestants had no fire source and could only endure the ice and snow with their bodies. They were a mess, with noses running and tears flowing from the cold.

Some had fire but insufficient fuel, so they could only watch helplessly as the flames grew smaller, their hearts filled with anxiety.

Some contestants were even out in the middle of nowhere right now, without even a place to hide from the wind and snow.

However, the situation on the Huaguo side was completely different.

Lu Fan and An Lan had moved the furnace into their warm house, and the room was instantly filled with a cozy warmth.

A steaming pot sat before them as they were about to start their hotpot feast.
