108: The squirrel being tricked by the big black guy
He first used ropes to fix the windmill's support frame onto the roof, and then installed the windmill blades one by one.
With every blade he installed, he checked it carefully to ensure it was securely fixed.
After some effort, the windmill was finally installed.
Standing on the roof and looking at his masterpiece, Lu Fan felt a deep sense of accomplishment.
At that moment, a gentle sea breeze blew, and the windmill began to turn slowly, making a 'creak-creak' sound.
"Success!" Lu Fan shouted excitedly as he climbed down from the roof.
He couldn't wait to get back to the room to see if the fan could operate normally.
Once he tied the rope connecting the windmill and the fan, something magical happened.
As the windmill turned, the fan inside the room began to spin rapidly.
A strong blast of cool air rushed toward him, instantly dispelling the stifling heat in the room.
"Wow, it's so cool!" An Lan cheered happily, standing under the fan to fully enjoy the refreshing breeze.
"Lu Fan, you're amazing! This fan you made is fantastic!"
"Haha, of course. Look who made it." Lu Fan laughed proudly. He sat in a chair, feeling the coolness from the fan, filled with immense satisfaction.
"This is great. Now we don't have to worry about being roasted like suckling pigs anymore."
An Lan looked at Lu Fan, her eyes full of joy. "Hurry up and install one in your room too."
Lu Fan smiled and waved his hand. "I'm out of materials. I'll just come over to your place to enjoy the breeze."
An Lan didn't think much of it and nodded with a smile.
In the livestream room, the viewers were amazed by the Wind-powered Fan Lu Fan had built.
"Holy crap, this is too cool! This is a true deserted island inventor!"
"With this fan, life on a deserted island will be so comfortable."
"I'm floored by Lu Fan's DIY skills! I can't even make a kite, and he actually built a Wind-powered Fan."
"I have a feeling Great God Lu Fan didn't install a fan for himself just so he'd have a legitimate reason to go to An Lan's room."
"I have that feeling too. Something's up with Great God Lu Fan."
Amidst the amazement of the livestream viewers, Lu Fan and An Lan enjoyed the coolness brought by the fan.
But soon, Lu Fan noticed a problem.
After Big Black, Big Horn, and Lightning finished their water, they were still staring longingly at the basin with their tongues hanging out, clearly not having had enough.
"It seems that wasn't enough water."
Lu Fan looked at the animals, feeling both annoyed and amused. "Alright, alright. Come on, I'll take you to the Spring Eye's Reservoir so you can drink your fill."
Seeing this, An Lan wanted to go too. Lu Fan could only reluctantly agree. "Then put on a hat. If you can't take the heat, come back."
An Lan nodded with a smile. "I'm not that silly. If it gets too hot, I'll definitely come back."
So, Lu Fan led the way while An Lan followed behind. Baa Baa, Big Horn, and Lightning followed them like three obedient students, heading toward the Spring Eye's Reservoir.
But Big Black was different. He was incredibly excited, jumping up and down and unable to stay still.
From time to time, he would run ahead to scout the path, returning with his tail wagging like a propeller, as if reporting to everyone that everything was clear ahead.
Once they reached the Reservoir, the little fellows finally let loose.
Lightning was the first to charge forward, plunging his head into the water with a 'plop' and gulping it down. He drank so vigorously that water splashed onto Big Horn.
Big Horn didn't get angry. He walked slowly to the side, lowered his head elegantly, and extended his tongue to lap the water gently.
Big Black, meanwhile, was all over the place, running to Lightning's side to join the fun one moment and then over to Big Horn to steal the spotlight the next, keeping himself very busy.
However, this terrified the little ewe Baa Baa, who could only huddle next to Big Horn.
"You guys are really made of water," An Lan said, unable to help laughing as she watched them.
By the time they were done drinking, their bellies were round and bulging like inflated balloons.
Big Black let out a loud burp, Big Horn slowly swished his tail, and Lightning happily pawed the ground with his hooves.
Then, with perfect coordination, the animals walked over to a nearby large tree and flopped onto the ground with a 'thud,' beginning to enjoy a leisurely time in the shade.
"Their lives are even more comfortable than mine," Lu Fan joked with a smile.
While everyone was immersed in this relaxed atmosphere, a small squirrel scurried down from the tree.
This little squirrel was fluffy all over, with a tail like a large parachute and round eyes that darted around. It was incredibly cute.
It was clearly exhausted by the hot weather as well, running straight toward the Reservoir to get a drink of water.
But before the squirrel could reach the edge of the water, Big Black perked up as if he had discovered a new world.
He scrambled up from the ground and charged like an arrow from a bow, catching the little squirrel in his mouth.
"Big Black, what are you doing!" Lu Fan and An Lan were startled by this sudden scene and rushed over.
Big Black held the little squirrel in his mouth, shaking his head from side to side.
The little squirrel trembled with fear in his mouth, letting out 'squeak-squeak' cries that sounded as if it were begging for mercy: "Let me go, I don't want to die young!"
Seeing this, An Lan cried out anxiously, "Big Black, let the squirrel go! It's so pitiful."
Big Black seemed to finally understand An Lan's words. After a moment of hesitation, he spat the squirrel out.
But he wasn't done playing yet. As soon as the squirrel hit the ground, he reached out a paw to bat at it, sending the terrified squirrel scurrying everywhere.
"You silly dog, don't overdo it!"
Lu Fan couldn't take it anymore. Using his foot, he hooked Big Black and tossed him aside.
Then he walked over and picked up the trembling squirrel by its scruff.
"Hahaha, Bean Sprout, scared stiff, aren't you? It's okay, that idiot is just like that."
Lu Fan gently stroked the squirrel's head to comfort it.
The little squirrel curled into a ball in Lu Fan's palm, tears shimmering in its eyes as it continued to tremble.
After a long while, it gradually recovered and cautiously looked up at Lu Fan.
"Alright, go have some water." Lu Fan placed the squirrel by the edge of the Reservoir.
The squirrel looked at Lu Fan, then at the wary Big Black nearby, before cautiously approaching the water to drink.
"You, honestly. That thing doesn't even taste good. Why did you catch it?" Lu Fan looked at Big Black and rubbed his head with a smile.
Big Black gave a goofy grin, his tail wagging frantically.
After the squirrel finished drinking, it didn't leave immediately.
It hopped onto Lu Fan's shoulder and rubbed its head against his face, seemingly expressing its gratitude.
Then it ran over to An Lan, spun around in her palm a few times, and finally scurried back up the tree reluctantly.
"This little fellow is quite spirited," An Lan said with a smile, watching the squirrel in the tree.
