16: Punishment for failure

Lu Fan and the audience in the livestream room were all immersed in the joy of the harvest.

The viewers in the livestream room also sent waves of bullet comments, expressing their admiration and blessings for Lu Fan: "Lu Fan's harvest today is so full, he's amazing!"

"Watching Lu Fan's adventure makes me feel refreshed."

"I hope Lu Fan can be this lucky every day."

Just then, the Wilderness Survival Announcement suddenly sounded, breaking the tranquility.

【Wilderness Survival Announcement】

【Baltan, a contestant from the Litan Country, has died of food poisoning】

【Contestant Baltan of the Litan Country has triggered the ten thousand times rebate】

【10,000 people in the Litan Country will randomly suffer from food poisoning】

This sudden news was like a heavy bomb, instantly causing a massive uproar in the livestream room.

The audience was shocked by this scene, and the bullet comments instantly flooded the screen: "What? Contestant Baltan is dead?"

"So a contestant's death actually brings down a punishment!"

"Food poisoning? That's terrifying."

"Ten thousand people in the Litan Country getting food poisoning, this punishment is too severe."

Wang Tao also gaped in shock, unable to speak for a long time.

Zhao Hangjun frowned and said in a deep voice, "Food poisoning is an extremely dangerous situation in Wilderness Survival. I hope the audience from the Litan Country can take this as a warning."

Yu Rui couldn't help but shudder: "It's too scary. I hope Lu Fan can always stay careful and not encounter such a situation."

At this moment, the Litan Country instantly fell into chaos. Those unfortunate 10,000 people collapsed due to food poisoning, suffering from various adverse reactions.

The high-level officials of the Litan Country immediately launched medical rescue efforts, but the results were minimal. For a time, the entire country was in a panic.

The atmosphere in the livestream room suddenly became heavy, and the audience's mood shifted from previous joy to worry and unease.

They had already felt the benefits Wilderness Survival brought to their countries, and at this moment, the terrifying side of Wilderness Survival was also revealed.

As expected, all free things have a price tag attached in secret.

They all began to discuss precautions for Wilderness Survival and how to avoid issues like food poisoning.

Someone sent a bullet comment: "In the wild, you must be careful of plants and animals you don't recognize. Don't try them easily."

"Remember to cook food thoroughly before eating; this can kill most bacteria and viruses."

"I hope the people of the Litan Country can get through this crisis safely."

Meanwhile, people from other countries even went to the Litan Country's livestream room to mock them.

"Hahaha, our Japan contestants are still more capable."

"In the end, it's all about our Andre."

"Damn it, why wasn't it that kid from China who got food poisoning."

Some were happy while others grieved; some national leaders even became happy upon seeing this scene.

They even thought about using this point to have their own contestants harm contestants from other countries, thereby affecting reality.

Although Lu Fan couldn't see the bullet comments in the livestream room, he also saw that announcement.

"If survival fails, will there be such a severe punishment..."

"It seems I also need to pay more attention to potential dangers."

Lu Fan looked up at the blue sky and white clouds, silently praying for the other two Chinese contestants while also becoming more determined to survive well.

He knew well that Wilderness Survival was full of unknowns and dangers; every small oversight could lead to serious consequences.

After gathering his thoughts, Lu Fan prepared to head back, deciding to stop by the stream to get some water to take back.

He soon reached the water's edge. Lu Fan crouched down, immersed the bamboo tube into the water, then quickly sealed it and lifted it up. The clear stream water filled the bamboo tube.

【Look at the ground, there's a surprise】

Hearing this prompt, Lu Fan's gaze fell upon the muddy ground by the stream.

A few sets of fresh footprints came into view. These footprints were clearly visible; obviously, the owner had been active here not long ago.

There were also several fresh droppings nearby.

After careful observation, Lu Fan's eyes lit up: "These are wild boar footprints!"

Hearing his words, the livestream room also began to discuss it.

"What! peppa Pig!"

"What's peppa?"

"Old man upstairs, peppa is that pink hair dryer."

Zhao Hangjun analyzed: "Animals often appear where there is water, and there might even be large beasts, so Contestant Lu Fan must be careful."

A portion of the audience even became worried about this.

"It's too dangerous, Great God Lu Fan should leave quickly."

"Yeah, it would be bad if he got hurt like the contestant from the Litan Country."

But Lu Fan didn't think that way. For him, this wild boar was something he was determined to get.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but lick his lips: "This is a substantial main course."

So Lu Fan decided to make a trap here.

He set down the bamboo tube and began to look for suitable materials nearby.

He first dug a pit on the spot, then found several thick branches, sharpened them with his axe, and stuck them into the mud to form a triangular enclosure.

He placed some fruits that wild boars like to eat in the pit as bait.

To ensure the trap's effectiveness, Lu Fan also tied some vines to the top of the enclosure, with the other end of the vines connected to a crossbar.

When the wild boar is attracted by the fruit and steps into the small pit, the crossbar will lose its support, and the entire enclosure will fall down, trapping the wild boar inside.

The viewers in the livestream room watched Lu Fan make the trap and sent bullet comments: "Lu Fan is going to catch a wild boar!"

"This trap looks very clever, I hope it succeeds."

Wang Tao also said excitedly: "Contestant Lu Fan not only knows how to make tools but also how to set traps for hunting. He's truly multi-talented."

Zhao Hangjun analyzed: "In the wild, using traps for hunting is a very effective way to obtain food and can save a lot of physical strength."

Yu Rui also seemed very happy: "Thinking about being able to eat pork, I'm getting a bit hungry."

"Go Lu Fan, we're waiting to see you roast wild boar meat."

After the trap was finished, Lu Fan looked at his work with satisfaction, then picked up the bamboo tube full of water and prepared to return to the Shelter.

He walked carefully along the path he came by, looking back at the trap from time to time, hoping the wild boar would take the bait soon.

Back at the Shelter, Lu Fan put down his basket and began to prepare food.
