143: Plant Guardian Stand
Wizard Tower, 6th floor, Spell Study Room.
"Full virtual simulation illusion?!"
"VR?"
"Or AR?"
Gelin was stunned the moment he entered the Spell Study Room.
The runes and constantly changing spell symbols surrounding him were like AR/VR phantoms from a futuristic sci-fi world.
It was incredibly breathtaking!
Gelin cautiously reached out a fingertip to touch the nearest spell rune, but his finger passed right through it.
Indeed, it was just a phantom!
Gelin wandered through this sea of runes, beginning to carefully experience the Wizard World's virtual technology; although they were all illusory images, they gave a very real sensation.
Perhaps, within them, there were many extraordinary secrets Gelin didn't know...
"Forget it."
Gelin shook his head, suppressing the urge to explore this virtual sci-fi technology.
"My primary goal now is to become a Formal Wizard; everything else has to take a backseat. My energy is also limited. I'll explore these wondrous technologies after I become a Formal Wizard."
Gelin walked to the wall on the left side of the room and began to browse the text inscribed on the special material of the wall.
These were explanations and details for the first-tier Guardian Spell — Plant Guardian Stance.
For wizard knowledge above the first-tier, modern wizard language could no longer easily convey it.
Only the Ancient Wizard language, considered a language of rules, could fully interpret the essence of high-tier spell runes.
However, reading Ancient Wizard language consumed Spiritual Power.
Looking at the Ancient Wizard language covering all four walls, and then at the spell rune projections that almost filled the entire room, with their tens of thousands of spell lines, Gelin's mouth twitched fiercely, and he couldn't help but reveal a bitter smile.
"Oh, me, a little mouse, I'm going to pull another all-nighter..."
Gelin put away all distracting thoughts and devoted all his energy to analyzing and learning the first-tier Guardian Spell — Plant Guardian Stance.
After half a month of diligent effort,
Gelin was finally no longer confused and had a deeper understanding of the entire spell's structure and learning direction.
To be honest, according to the plan Gelin had made,
to fully understand and master this first-tier composite spell, he had to learn, or even master, the following textbooks:
"Fundamentals of Elemental Studies" (Volumes 1-10);
"Advanced Elemental Studies and Common Combination Changes" (Volumes 1-6);
"Fundamentals of High-Tier Elemental Studies" (First-tier Wizard Level, Volumes 1-3);
"Basic Properties and Principles of Energy Fields" (Volumes 1-20);
"One Hundred Common Combination Changes and Applications of Energy Fields" (Volumes 1-5);
"Characteristics and Basic Explanation of Composite Fields" (Volumes 1-3);
"The Incarnation of Rule Language in the Wizard World — The Evolution and History of Runes" (Volumes 1-8);
"Fundamentals of Spell Runes" (Volumes 1-10);
"Advanced Mysteries and Applications of Runes" (Volumes 1-4);
"Mutual Influence and Principles of Interaction Between Spell Runes and Spiritual Power Runes" (Volumes 1-3);
"How to Construct a Stable First-Tier Spell — 100 Wizards Speak from Experience" (Volumes 1-10);
"One Hundred Small Tips for Constructing the First-Tier Spell Plant Guardian Stance" (Volumes 1-5);
...
"Ah..."
"Oh, heavens..."
"Why not just strike me down with a bolt of lightning and be done with it? This is over a hundred books!"
"I'm such a fool..."
Gelin couldn't help but wail in the solitary Spell Study Room.
Five or six courses, all involving extremely profound wizard knowledge, many of which were severely beyond the scope of first-tier knowledge, made the learning difficulty imaginable.
Gelin's original wish was to be a lazy slacker, but after coming to the Wizard World—
Reality had forcibly transformed Gelin, a poor student, into a top scholar.
"Damn it, if I had a choice, I definitely wouldn't choose to transmigrate to a Wizard World like this."
"How great it would be to go to a cultivation world; just meditate every day, absorb some spiritual energy, and the day is over. How refreshing!"
"Sigh..."
"If only someone could help me study."
...
"Gelin..."
"I heard you sighing as soon as I came in. What, have you been discouraged again?"
A clear and pleasant voice entered Gelin's ears, somewhat familiar, yet also a little strange.
Gelin turned his head in disbelief and immediately saw a bright, charming smile.
That beautiful face, deeply imprinted in the depths of his mind, was none other than the long-unseen Alice!
"Alice, how did you..."
"How did you..."
Gelin was so excited he was incoherent, his face flushed. He wanted to say something but didn't know what to say.
He wanted to express his inner thoughts but was hesitant, his years of cultivation in calming his mind shattered in that instant...
"What about me?"
Alice asked with a giggle, just like before, unchanged.
"Gelin, why are you still the same, sighing whenever you encounter a problem?"
"That won't do."
"This doesn't match your status as an Advanced Wizard Apprentice. With your current cultivation, you could already be a Mentor!"
"Am I right?"
Gelin quickly calmed down upon hearing this. The experienced him was no longer the foolish person he used to be.
"Alice, I just cultivated a bit faster. In terms of knowledge, I'm not yet qualified to be a Mentor."
"Now, facing learning difficulties as vast as mountains, can't a person complain a bit?"
Gelin shook his head and continued, meaningfully:
"Alice, for you to be here, you must have also become an Advanced Wizard Apprentice and obtained the entry ticket to become a Formal Wizard, right?"
"Congratulations! After years of seclusion, you've finally achieved something."
...
"Yes, inner demons are truly terrifying."
Alice seemed not to have caught Gelin's deeper meaning and continued the conversation:
"That inner demon tormented me for nearly three years before I barely managed to break through just before the final deadline."
"Three years ago, I became an Advanced Wizard Apprentice, but after breaking through, I was also immersed in a critical period of inspiration."
"So, Mentor Serena pulled me into secluded, full-time study of alchemy."
"Last month, I finally became a 5-star Apothecary Apprentice. Therefore, I became a registered disciple of Lord Joyce, gained the academy's recognition and permission, and embarked on the wizard's path to pursue becoming a Formal Wizard."
"So, what about you?"
"Gelin!"
"How did you obtain this entry ticket all these years?"
