22: Fireside Night Chat (Part 3)
Grin nodded and said,
“Isn’t that the truth.”
“What’s the point of eating fruit, vegetable salads and such every day, like you girls do?”
“I’m a carnivore…”
“Naturally, the more I eat, the happier I am.”
“If my stomach wasn’t limited, I’d want to live in the restaurant.”
Ally gently brushed her long hair away from her face and tucked it behind her earlobe, then said thoughtfully,
“Based on my judgment, your situation is very likely a Bloodline Reversion phenomenon.”
“Just like that big guy, Adler…”
“You probably know him; he’s in the same situation.”
“I heard Mentor Jordan say that when Adler was eight, he was playing in the forest near his village and was frightened by a berserk mountain bear, instantly awakening a portion of the Earth Bear bloodline.”
“The aura of the bloodline scared off the berserk mountain bear and also led to his discovery by an Academy Apprentice who was out on a mission, who then brought him back to the Academy.”
“I’m not clear about your situation.”
“It’s probably also due to some kind of stimulation that caused a bloodline change.”
“I suggest you follow Adler’s example and also study the Path of the Knight.”
“Because the Path of the Knight was originally created by Bloodline Wizards to assist in better mastering the power of their bloodline.”
“Moreover, the power of most bloodlines is rooted in the physical body; the stronger your physical body, the more bloodline power you can carry, and the more powerful the manifestation of your bloodline will be.”
“Hmm…”
“I will.”
“Tomorrow I’ll sign up for the Formal Knight training course.” Grin replied, while also muttering to himself,
“Seeing them all talk about it so seriously, did I really awaken my bloodline? Should I use this bloodline awakening as an excuse to cover up my rapid future progress?”
“Forget it, no need to dwell on it.”
“Whether I’ve awakened my bloodline or not, I’ll just assume I have.”
“Anyway, besides slicing me open, no one can really tell if I’ve awakened my bloodline.”
“Practicing the Path of the Knight can serve as strong proof.”
“Perfect, I can also cultivate the Path of the Knight to increase my appetite.”
“Last time I competed with Adler, eating Angus beef, smoked ham, hot dogs, lettuce, and cheese burgers.”
“I actually ate three less than him…”
“So embarrassing, so utterly embarrassing…”
“I must avenge this humiliation.”
Grin thought to himself, ‘As expected of me, killing two birds with one stone is quite something.’
“Grin…”
“To better unleash the power of your bloodline, those free Knight courses won’t be of much use.”
“I recommend a mentor to you.”
“That would be the mentor who currently teaches Adler—Jordan, also known as ‘Devil Jordan’.”
Oakes actively offered advice,
“Mentor Jordan also awakened his bloodline…”
“He awakened a trace of the Ancient Devil Giant Ape bloodline.”
“Although it’s only a very tiny trace of bloodline, it’s enough to make him the strongest person below a Peak Apprentice.”
“If it weren’t for the significant flaw in his bloodline, which only strengthened his physical body, leading to a single combat method.”
“He would have long since cut off the heads of three Advanced Wizard Apprentices and become the eighth Peak Apprentice of our Plant Heart Academy.”
“Jordan reached the peak of Grand Knight ten years ago and has also run several training classes, teaching quite a few Grand Knights. My uncle is a member of his combat team; I’ll ask my uncle to put in a good word for you, guaranteeing you a spot in his training class.”
Grin’s face was covered in black lines.
I just want to train steadily and become a Formal Knight, I don’t want to seek death.
You can tell from his nickname that he’s definitely not a fake like “Devil Muscle Man.”
Please don’t get me into trouble.
But before Grin could refuse.
Ally also spoke, “I’ve also heard of ‘Devil Jordan’s’ reputation; he is indeed very powerful and extremely rich in combat experience.”
“He once directly killed an Advanced Black Wizard Apprentice from the ‘Blood Shark King’ pirate group, and his teaching ability is also good, well-regarded in the Academy.”
“There’s no Knight mentor more suitable for you in the Academy than him.”
“Although your bloodline ability isn’t in the aspect of physical body enhancement.”
“But as long as you can advance to a Grand Knight, your bloodline ability will undergo a significant improvement and change.”
“If you’re worried he won’t accept you…”
“I’ll talk to my teacher; my teacher is the potion sponsor for ‘Devil Jordan’s’ team, so he’ll surely give my mentor face.”
After speaking, Ally took out a crystal ball encased in a pink kitten cover, muttered a few words softly,
“Done!”
I’ve already messaged my teacher.
“Tomorrow, you can find Adler and have him take you to Mentor Jordan.”
“Tsk tsk…”
“Grin… Grin, it seems I’ve saved myself a trip.” Oakes said, raising an eyebrow at Grin… “Um, who am I?”
“Where am I?”
“Did I agree?”
“Did I really agree, and I just forgot?”
Grin’s mind was full of question marks.
“Heavens and Earth…”
“I just wanted to simply practice being a Knight, with the intensity of doing two sets of calisthenics every day, that’s all.”
“Now…”
“Right from the start, you’re giving me a hellish package; have you considered the child’s feelings?”
The three-hundred-pound Grin cried, his face like a child tormented by homework… “Uh… can I not go…”
“It’s not good for you to expend so much favor for me, is it?”
“I’m afraid I can’t repay it…” Grin said timidly, trying to salvage the situation.
“It’s nothing, just a word.”
“It won’t cost any favors.”
“Jordan recruits about ten or eight every year.”
“Don’t have any psychological pressure, about repaying or not; just treat me to a couple more hot pot meals.” Ally waved her hand indifferently… “Uh…”
“I was thinking…”
“Will training with Jordan interfere with my studies?”
“You know, I’m currently studying two courses simultaneously, and time is a bit tight.” Grin still tried to struggle.
“No, it won’t; the reputation of a gold medal coach isn’t just for show.”
“He’ll tailor a training plan for you.”
“I heard that among his students, there are two who became Intermediate Wizard Apprentices + Grand Knights, and they didn’t fall behind much in their progress.” Oakes explained helpfully.
“Uh, I just…”
“Grin, don’t be afraid.”
“I haven’t heard that Jordan eats people.”
“Although his nickname is ‘Devil Jordan,’ he doesn’t look devilish at all.”
“I saw him in my teacher’s laboratory; he has a rugged, chiseled look, a very mature and handsome old man.” Ally said, comforting Grin, who seemed very scared.
“Girls’ minds are truly amazing…”
Was Grin worried about whether “Devil Jordan” was manly enough?
No…!
Grin was worried that “Devil Jordan” was *too* manly and would train Grin to the point of unbearable pain.
“Ally, that’s not what I meant, I just wanted to…”
“No, you don’t want to…”
“Why are you being so wishy-washy? It’s just training to be a Knight, what’s so hard about it?”
Ally directly interrupted Grin,
“My teacher has already sent a message; he’s communicated with Mentor Jordan, so tomorrow you can just go find Adler.”
“Haha… Grin…”
“Congratulations, your good fortune has arrived. Work hard, okay?”
“I see it’s getting late; I need to go back and meditate, so I’ll be leaving first.”
Oakes could tell Grin was a bit reluctant, and he also knew why.
But for the sake of his good brother’s future, he still didn’t speak up to stop him and quickly found an excuse to slip away.
“Grin, I’m heading back too.”
Bigg also stood up and said.
Bigg was just simple-minded, but not stupid at all.
“I should be heading back too…”
“Sleep early, Grin, I wish you sweet dreams!” Ally also stood up to bid farewell… Soon after, everyone scattered completely.
“Sweet dreams? Nightmares are more like it.”
Grin grumbled, but said no more.
Learning and combat, this was Grin’s predetermined path.
The road to becoming a Formal Wizard was destined not to be smooth sailing…
