221: Farewell dinner

January, in the 148th year of the wizard's path.

After becoming a Tier 2 Wizard, Green resigned from his position as head of Plant Heart Wizard Academy, preparing to embark on the journey to the Middle-earth Continent.

Similar to Joyce's approach, Green rallied the entire Mist Coast Wizard World to build a massive and sturdy treasure ship, recruiting hundreds of Formal Wizards to depart with him.

On the eve of his departure, Green still had one last dinner with his old friends at their usual spot.

North section, first floor of the Wizard Tower.

Beef Burger Shack.

The huge dining table was piled high with delicious food.

Western dishes included:

One large plate of grilled eel;

One large plate of pan-fried bluefin whale meat;

One large plate of mermaid shells;

Three meters of cold-cut golden sea shrimp;

Ten grilled large octopuses;

Ten signature beef burgers;

Four plates of pan-fried angus steak;

One large plate of enchanted tomatoes...

Chinese dishes included:

One dish of authentic braised pork;

One dish of stir-fried pork with chili;

One large dish of stir-fried shredded vegetables;

One large dish of beef stew with potatoes;

One large dish of stir-fried water spinach;

One large dish of stir-fried lettuce...

"Green, I toast to you. Take care on your journey."

Adler said with tears in his eyes.

"Green, I also toast to you. I wish you a smooth journey and that you reach new heights on your wizard's path."

Ellie also raised her juice and said.

Yes.

This farewell dinner only included Green, Ellie, and Adler, his three old friends.

Green was already 158 years old. Oakes and Bigg were around the same age as Green; they had both reached the end of a Wizard Apprentice's lifespan long ago and had passed away.

Oakes passed away at the age of 148. Green saw him off on his final journey. Oakes lived a glorious life; in his youth, he was a womanizer, a complete playboy, but after marriage, he became a henpecked husband and a doting father, deeply loving his family. He spent the latter half of his life as a kind father and a good husband.

Bigg reached the end of his life at 129. Being deeply devoted, he refused to abandon his wife and live on alone, so he did not take the precious potion Green offered. Bigg lived a happy life with his wife, growing old together.

Ellie became a Formal Wizard by following the Botany School, only eight years after Green. She was now a peak Tier 1 Formal Wizard, possessing extremely high attainments in Pharmacology and Mind Cultivation. However, despite her extraordinary talent, she was stuck at the Mind Bottleneck of becoming a Tier 2 Wizard.

Ellie said that she did not want to travel far. She only wanted to stay quietly in the Mist Coast, the place where it all began, and spend the last moments of her life. Therefore, Ellie would not accompany Green to the Middle-earth Continent.

As for Adler, it was a complete accident that this companion became a Formal Wizard. While exploring an Ancient Secret Realm (seeking excitement), Adler accidentally provoked a Formal Wizard-level monster. During his escape after being severely injured, he accidentally fell into a secret place and was forcibly advanced twice by an ancient Wizard Array, awakening the Bloodline of the Earth Bear and advancing to a Tier 1 Bloodline Wizard.

This kind of special case is not replicable; one can only say that simpletons have simpleton's luck. Adler also clearly knew that he could no longer advance, so he did not want to cause any more trouble. He had already established a large Bloodline Wizard family, and his only hope for the rest of his life was to have many children and plant many trees (sea buckthorn trees), hoping that a genius would emerge among his descendants...

"Ellie, you must also take care and live well..."

"When I return, I will surely bring you some longevity treasures. Adler, you too, take good care of yourself until I return."

"Haha..."

"Green, I believe you, but I don't need your longevity treasures. That I could luckily become a Formal Wizard and live for three or four hundred years is already great fortune and a great opportunity."

Adler took a large gulp of rye ice beer contentedly and said with a laugh:

"I dare not ask for too much now. Think of Oakes, think of Bigg; these good brothers have already left us. What good is it if I live any longer?"

"You should save your longevity treasures for Ellie."

"I don't need them either."

Ellie still had that aloof demeanor; over a hundred years of cultivation had given her an aura that kept people at a distance.

"I just want to live each day well. How many days there are doesn't matter, and I won't demand more. It's much better to live freely and without overstepping boundaries."

"Green, longevity treasures are very precious. You don't need to risk danger to search for these things. You are also over a hundred and fifty years old. Birth, aging, sickness, death, joy, and sorrow—you should be able to see past these things."

..."I know."

"I know all you're saying..."

Green took a big bite of the pan-fried angus steak, but his heart still felt empty and very bitter.

"One day, all the familiar people will leave one by one. No one can accompany you for a lifetime, especially for people like us who pursue our dreams. In the process of chasing dreams, familiar faces will disappear from my side, and new ones will appear."

"But you two are my childhood friends and family. The three of us grew up together, experiencing over a hundred years of trials and tribulations. You are not just family; you are more than family."

"I just..."

"I just want you to accompany me a little longer, so I don't have to search for our warm moments only in my memories."

"Oakes and Bigg had no choice; they couldn't use longevity treasures. But you two are different. Formal Wizards have strong soul endurance. Teacher Joyce once said that in the Middle-earth Continent Wizard World, some Formal Wizards can use special longevity treasures to live up to 1,000 years."

"Although such treasures are rare, I believe that with my ability, obtaining them will not be a problem."

"Ellie, haven't you always wanted to become a legendary figure in Mind Cultivation, achieve extraordinary accomplishments, and then be written into Wizard textbooks? Having 1,000 years of life to do this, wouldn't your chances be greater than doing it with 300 or 400 years of life?"

"Adler, haven't you always wanted to fulfill Teacher Jordan's last wish and reconnect the Mist Coast Wizard World to the formal wizard's path of the Bloodline Knights? I believe that there will definitely be knowledge in this area in the Middle-earth Continent Wizard World, and I will bring this knowledge back. By then, you might not only be able to fulfill Teacher Jordan's will but also continue your cultivation?"

"So, please, both of you, agree to me, okay?"

"Live well, take care of your lives. In a short hundred years, or at most two hundred years, I will definitely return."

...Ellie and Adler exchanged glances and reluctantly agreed.

"Alright, we promise you."

"But you must also promise us not to act recklessly and not to sacrifice yourself for these longevity treasures. Otherwise, even if you put the longevity treasures in front of us, we won't take them."

"Good, I promise too. Pinky swear, a hundred years, no changing."

Green said with immense confidence.

"Don't worry, it'll be a piece of cake."

"Let's have another drink. Tonight we drink until we're drunk; who knows how many years it will be until we can meet again."

"Hate to part, drink more wine; tonight we shall drink a great toast!"
