4: Food and Assessment

White Wizards and Black Wizards are not the same.

White Wizards value unity and cooperation more, and their internal atmosphere is extremely harmonious.

Especially under the personal guidance of the Formal Wizard, the Dean of Plant Heart Wizard Academy, Heart of Plants — Lady Joyce, most of the Wizard Apprentices in the academy are very friendly and amiable, with very few conflicts between them.

“Come, cheers.”

“To our future Wizard Lord — Lord Anglet!”

“May you take another step forward on the wizard's path to truth, cheers.”

Oakes raised his large mug, filled with a whole liter of rye ice beer, and clinked it with Green and Bigg.

“Green, you can do it! I knew you could! For the next five years, we’ll still be studying together.”

Bigg’s round face was beaming with a joyful smile.

“Thank you. On the path to truth, we move forward together! Cheers!” Green also raised his mug.

Green drank the cool and refreshing beer, but inwardly, he was smiling bitterly.

“The original Green failed your expectations and is already gone. It’s a good thing I came, otherwise, I don’t know how sad you would all be.”

Taking a sip of rye ice beer, then biting into a juicy angus steak… Mmm, delightful.

This feeling gave Green a sense of exhilaration he had never experienced before. It seemed this Wizard World also had excellent cuisine… Green thought to himself, thankfully, with good food, he wouldn’t feel homesick once he was full.

The pursuit of delicious food, etched into his bones, instantly gave Green a new life goal.

The first life goal would always remain unchanged.

That was to strengthen himself. Only by possessing enough power to live stably could he hope to find his way home.

The second life goal was to taste all the delicacies of this other world, and never mistreat his stomach.

No more of those trashy satiety potions; he would never drink that stuff again.

Having tasted delicious food, Green focused all his attention on the cuisine.

While Oakes and Bigg were still chatting, Green, to avoid saying too much, merely echoed their words and concentrated on devouring the delicious steak.

In the end, Green ate a full five one-pound pan-fried steaks and all the side dishes, and drank three full mugs of rye ice beer. By the end, he had to hold his stomach as he walked back… The next day, Green woke up very late.

He vaguely remembered eating too much last night and having to lean on his two buddies while taking a long walk in the planting garden.

“This really shouldn’t have happened.”

Green lightly slapped himself twice on the face.

“I drank two too many and got carried away.”

“I still need to practice my drinking capacity more in the future.”

Fortunately, Green had undergone over four years of professional knight training during his second five-year study cycle… His physical quality had greatly improved through Magic Water baptism and knight training.

Moreover, Green had passed the knight training course two months ago.

Green was now at the peak of an apprentice knight, only needing to comprehend the rhythm of the breath of life and condense the seed of life to advance to a Formal Knight… Lying on the soft velvet quilt, Green began to silently plan his future.

Since he had come to this Wizard World with its strange transcendent powers, the hope of returning home would most likely lie on the wizard's path.

As long as he possessed strong enough power, the chances of finding his way home would be greater.

This was a long-term and grand goal… In the short term.

Green needed to practice wizardry diligently and prepare to pass the second five-year comprehensive exam, so that he would have better living conditions and development paths.

The course requirement for wizardry spellcasting was for both wizardry spells to reach the second stage.

Green already had one wizardry spell that had completed the 0-ring breakthrough.

Green had set his plan for today.

Today’s main objective was to complete the Seed Germination Technique wizardry assessment.

Before leaving, Green first cast the wizardry three times as required by the assessment, and all were successful.

Only then did he confidently go to find his mentor for the assessment.

On the third floor of the tall Wizard Tower, in the Low-level Wizardry Assessment Room,

“Knock knock~”

Green stood at the door and gently knocked twice.

“Come in…”

Hearing the mentor’s response, Green took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and walked in.

“Hello, mentor. This student is here to be assessed for the wizardry course of the second five-year comprehensive exam.”

“Subject: 0-Ring Low-level Wizardry — Seed Germination Technique.”

“Place your identity badge on this platform,” the middle-aged mentor said indifferently.

Green quickly placed his identity badge as requested, then stepped aside to wait… The middle-aged mentor tapped the desktop several times and activated a manifesting crystal, asking,

“Is this Green Anglet — a Low-level Wizard Apprentice?”

“That is this student,” Green replied.

“Now, we begin the assessment for 0-Ring Low-level Wizardry — Seed Germination Technique.”

“You need to cast the wizardry three times, and all three times must be cast with pauses, otherwise you will not pass. You now have 10 seconds to prepare.”

Green exhaled softly, calmed his nervous emotions, and then began to cast the spell,

“Elements, awaken…”

He performed normally, successfully casting with pauses all three times. Green let go of his excited heart.

The middle-aged Wizard tapped the desktop a few more times and then deactivated the manifesting crystal.

“Alright, the assessment is passed. It has been recorded in your identity badge. Take it,” the middle-aged mentor waved his hand and said.

“Thank you, mentor.”

Green retrieved his identity badge, bowed to the middle-aged mentor, and then exited the room… On his way back to the dormitory, Green felt joyful, thinking:

“Now there’s still Magic Rain Gathering Technique. This wizardry has been practiced less than Seed Germination Technique, so I need to put in more effort.”

“Once both these wizardry spells can be cast with pauses, the remaining course on the thirty-six phenomena of 0-Ring Low-level Wizardry rune construction will be easy to understand and pass.”

Green, rushing back to his dormitory, immediately picked up a pot of small green ivy and then plunged into the meditation room.

After closing the stone door, Green first meditated to restore his Spiritual Power.

Emptying his mind and operating the Meditation Technique for about ten minutes, Green successfully restored his full Spiritual Power… After all, 0-Ring Low-level Wizardry, especially wizardry for cultivating plants, consumed very little energy.

It only required 0.1 units of Spiritual Power to leverage one unit of Magic Water for spellcasting. With Green’s current 3.65 units of Spiritual Power, he could cast it 36 times.

“Heavenly spirits, earthly spirits, may the Grand Supreme Elder bless…”

“Bless my Magic Rain Gathering Technique to also break through in one go…”

Before casting the spell, Green muttered a prayer, bowing a little. Although he knew it was unlikely, perhaps a miracle might happen.

“Heed the call of the elements — Magic Water vapor, gather…”

After completing a standard incantation, Green felt a sensation in his heart:

“Hundredfold Harvest.”

Immediately.

Countless inspirations and experiences intertwined in Green’s mind.

Green seemed to be continuously practicing Magic Rain Gathering Technique in an alternate space. Through repeated spellcasting, Green’s understanding of this wizardry deepened, and his casting speed became faster and faster.

Unfortunately.

Because the previous Green had not practiced this wizardry enough times, Green did not grasp the trick of casting with pauses this time.

Green silently estimated the difference between the two wizardry spells.

Magic Rain Gathering Technique would likely require a significant amount of accumulation before a breakthrough, so Green temporarily put aside practicing wizardry and went to the study room, preparing to thoroughly review what he had learned…
