74: Warframe OR Mecha
Three days later, Grimm received a notification.
The 8th set, third version of the Bio-armor, had completed its basic assessment and acceptance.
Grimm was instructed to go to the armor no. 8 laboratory to try on the Bio-armor assigned to him.
Upon hearing the news, Grimm immediately became excited and followed Oakes. "Oakes, why are you the one notifying me?"
Grimm asked curiously.
"Have you also joined the Bio-Armor Project?"
Oakes looked at Grimm with a slight twitch in his eye, saying unhappily:
"Grimm, don't play innocent after getting such a good deal..."
"Don't you know why I'm here?"
"What do you mean?"
"Oakes, at a time like this, can you please stop speaking in riddles?"
Grimm was also a bit confused:
"Otherwise, don't blame me for using my ultimate move—Death Coil..."
"Hahahahaha..."
Oakes carefully scrutinized Grimm.
He realized Grimm wasn't faking it.
So he became even more annoyed:
"Grimm, you've known about becoming a Bio-armor Experimenter for days now."
"Didn't you go find out any relevant information, like what you'll be doing or who will be working with you?"
"Uh..."
"Haven't I been busy these past few days?"
"Adler hasn't been in a good mood lately, so I've been drinking with him. He's had me completely muddled every day."
Grimm explained, saying how exhausted he had been these past few days.
Adler had said: when it came to endurance, he couldn't compare to Grimm, but he wanted to compete with Grimm in drinking capacity.
So Grimm had no choice but to accompany his friend at the risk of his life... Grimm's head was still a bit fuzzy now...
"I'm really impressed with you."
"Being your brother is really tiring, Grimm."
Oakes grumbled.
"One bloody mary..."
"Not enough? Two bloody marys..."
"Still not enough? Then one of each is gone..."
Grimm said without hesitation.
"No, don't be like that, Grimm..."
"Just two. It's not easy to take advantage of a stingy old man like you."
Oakes quickly stopped him. "Alright, Grimm..."
"We're here. Look, this is the bio-armor no. 8 assigned to you."
Oakes pulled Grimm into a laboratory about a hundred square meters in size.
He pointed to a majestic Bio-armor in the middle of the laboratory and said.
This huge armor, an interplay of green and silver, was supported by a pure black cross-shaped iron stake.
From the front, Grimm could immediately see the huge silver breastplate shimmering, with numerous intricate and mysterious golden lines incised upon it, seemingly forming a hexagram pattern.
Two dark silver armguards were placed one on the left and one on the right, on either side of the cross, without dazzling colors, not drawing attention.
Two huge and slender leg guards were also dark silver, adorned with many silver lines, seemingly also part of a hexagram pattern.
All four connecting points were some unknown black-green vines, and as Grimm watched, he noticed these vines were moving...
"This is truly a majestic and imposing, yet strangely peculiar armor."
Grimm recovered from his initial shock.
"To use vines as joint connectors, and it has no head, and it seems to have Wizard Arrays drawn on the main components. This is truly very strange."
"How is it, Grimm..."
"This armor is cool, right!"
"The first time I saw it, I knew it was a big toy that men would love."
Oakes stared with a look of obsession at this huge and mysterious silver-green Bio-armor.
"Unfortunately, I can't wear this armor, and it doesn't belong to me."
After a while, as if remembering something,
Oakes composed himself.
He explained to Grimm:
"Grimm, weren't you wondering why I was the one to notify you and hand over this Bio-armor to you?"
"I'll tell you directly."
"My old man thought that me staying in a B-class laboratory as a small manager had no future."
"So, after he heard that you, Grimm, my sworn brother, had obtained the qualification of a Bio-armor Experimenter, he pulled some strings and got me in to be your Bio-armor maintenance personnel."
"That is, to let me ride on your coattails and follow you from now on, understand?"
"Big Boss Grimm, from now on, your little brother will be working under you."
Grimm wasn't surprised by Oakes's father's actions.
Instead, he gained a new understanding of the value of being a Bio-armor Experimenter.
A direct descendant of one of the four great families of the academy was willing to become a so-called Bio-armor maintenance personnel.
It's clear that the qualification of an Experimenter must be even more precious.
"Oakes..."
"Since you are my Bio-armor maintenance personnel, I will definitely look out for you from now on."
"It's time to start working. Tell me about our team's configuration and the basic parameters of this Bio-armor."
After the brotherly chatter, it was time to get to work.
Grimm returned to his work-oriented state. Grimm's attitude towards work had always been serious and responsible.
What's more, this was a life-saving Bio-armor closely related to Grimm's own life.
Oakes also showed a serious expression and demonstrated his professional competence. "Grimm, the Experimenter."
"You have been assigned bio-armor no. 8, which is a third-version Bio-armor, and also the latest version of Bio-armor in our academy."
"Your Bio-armor team configuration includes:
This bio-armor no. 8 laboratory, which will be entirely at your disposal for the next five years.
A four-person logistics and maintenance squad, including an Advanced Magical Plant Cultivator—responsible for the cultivation and maintenance of the connecting Magic Plant. This is Mentor Old Moler, whom you know;
A dedicated 3-Star Apprentice Alchemist and Bio-armor maintenance personnel—responsible for the refining of potions for the cultivation and treatment of the connecting Magic Plant, and the application and safekeeping of materials needed for Bio-armor damage repair. He is also the head butler of this Bio-armor laboratory, and this position is currently held by me;
An Advanced Magical Item Crafter—responsible for the repair and maintenance of wear and tear on main components. This is handled by Mentor Amir;
An Advanced Apprentice Wizard Array Master—responsible for the adjustment of the Wizard Array for the entire Bio-armor, replenishment of wear and tear, replacement of new circuits, and all other Wizard Array related matters. These are all handled by Mentor Salvador."
"As for your combat team configuration..."
"You'll have to ask Mentor Jordan about that. That aspect is entirely under Mentor Jordan's responsibility."
"Grimm, the Experimenter, is there anything else you'd like to know about our small team?"
"No..."
Grimm shook his head, agreeing with Oakes's explanation and understanding it clearly at once.
At the same time, he secretly grumbled in his heart:
"Are you kidding? Such a powerful team of mentors, just serving one Bio-armor. What else is there for me to ask?"
"I don't know how to repair and maintain the Bio-armor, nor is it my professional field, nor is it within my scope of responsibility. I'll just learn a thing or two when I use the Bio-armor in the future."
"I'm more interested in the Bio-armor itself!"
"Even a logistics and support team is so powerful. One can imagine how much manpower, material resources, and financial resources were spent to create this Bio-armor."
"How come the more I look at this, the more it seems like a mecha from the Wizarding World???"
