207: Shadows (IV)
"What?"
"What did you say?"
"Someone is secretly plotting against our Plant Heart Academy?"
Ally exclaimed in disbelief.
"Aren't they afraid Teacher Joyce will come after them? Oh, Teacher Joyce isn't here, she's been gone for over half a year, she's already crossed the Sea of Mist, thousands of miles away..."
"Then it's fine, continue. It seems our protector is gone, and some people are getting restless."
The intelligent Ally's mind worked quickly, and she immediately understood part of the truth.
Wizard Green's expression was also incredibly solemn now, as he had already considered a certain possibility, an extreme possibility he thought was highly unlikely.
"It seems our academy's development over the past 10 years has been a bit too good, attracting envy."
"Ally, both of our invitations are within these two months, and we both have to leave Plant Heart Academy for very legitimate reasons. Tell me, is there anything suspicious about this?"
"Are you saying someone wants to target us, deliberately lure us both out, then ambush us and kill us?"
Ally asked back, surprised and suspicious. "Something like that."
"Once they show their hand, I can pretty much deduce their plan..."
Wizard Green said with disdain:
"They probably see that we've only recently become Formal Wizards, so we're easy targets; our Plant Heart Academy has developed well over the past 10 years, so some people are thinking of taking advantage; plus, Teacher Joyce left behind a Tier 2 Wizard legacy, and some people have become greedy. Three good reasons are enough for some people to take the risk."
"These people are truly despicable, not walking the righteous path, and yet they want to harm us. They must be Black Wizards, Green, we can't just sit back and do nothing. Let's report it to the Seven Towers Alliance, we're not without backing."
Ally said indignantly:
"No!"
Wizard Green shook his head, rejecting Ally's suggestion.
"Ally, you've always been engrossed in potion refining and haven't dealt with the Dark Side Wizards of the Mist Coast. There are some things you don't quite understand."
"Let me put it simply: some things aren't as simple as they seem on the surface. Wizards aren't just divided into Black Wizards and White Wizards. At this critical juncture, it's not just Black Wizards who want to plot against us. Are those White Wizards not involved?"
"Heh heh..."
"If the Black Wizards of the Mist Coast had such power to mobilize so many White Wizards and White Wizard forces to send us invitations, then we White Wizards wouldn't need to be here on the Mist Coast. We might as well give up our dominant position early and let the Black Wizards rule."
..."Green, are you suspecting that White Wizards are also involved?"
"Not suspecting, but certain."
Wizard Green said confidently:
"According to my deductions, this conspiracy involves at least two major White Wizard forces, with dozens of other White Wizard forces watching from the sidelines or going with the flow. As for the Black Wizards, they are merely being used as a smokescreen and scapegoats, or as hired thugs."
"The true villains plotting against our Plant Heart Academy must be one or many Formal Wizards."
"Then what should we do? We're only two people, and I'm not good at spell dueling. I've never even killed anyone, so my combat power is basically zero. How can we possibly fight them?"
Ally's beautiful face was now filled with worry, her brows deeply furrowed.
"Don't worry."
Wizard Green comforted her, a smile beginning to form at the corner of his lips.
"Do you think I don't know what these people are thinking?"
"First, lure the tiger away from its mountain, then defeat them one by one?"
"Then usurp the nest and replace the original owner?"
"Hmph, they'll have to see if they have the teeth for it."
..."You sound so confident, I'd like to know, do you have a good plan?"
"What good plan? It's just that once I see through these conspiracies, we have nothing to worry about."
"How about we turn their plan against them and lure the snake out of its hole? What do you think?" Wizard Green suggested.
"There's only the saying of catching a thief for a thousand days, not guarding against a thief for a thousand days. I'll use a small trick to lure out the hidden enemies, then I'll kill one or two to make an example, and then no one will dare to openly target us."
"After all that, it still comes down to a fight. I don't know much about fighting, but I do know that Formal Wizard-level combat is not simple. Those Formal Wizards are all very fond of their lives, and their life-saving abilities must be very strong. Plus, with their Innate Wizardry, do you have confidence?"
"About eighty percent confidence. In the past 10 years, I've clashed with Formal Wizards more than once, and Teacher Joyce also taught me how to kill a Formal Wizard. Even if those Formal Wizards are protected by their Innate Guardian Wizardry, I have the Bio-Steel Battle Suit and several trump cards given by Teacher Joyce. With an outburst, killing one or two Formal Wizards is not a problem."
"Green, since you're so confident, then go ahead and do it. Is there anything I can help with?"
"Of course, Ally, I need you to hold down the Wizard Tower and control the Guardian Array to support me."
"Alright, that's all for today. I'm going to find people to hold a meeting and discuss the battle plan. I'll send you a cooperative combat mission later."
"Ally, your passion for research isn't a bad thing, but you need to maintain a regular schedule. Otherwise, if you stay up late for too long, your skin will get very bad."
"Get lost..."
..."There are hyenas secretly eyeing our Plant Heart Academy, what should we do?"
"Kill, kill, kill—"
"There are venomous snakes in the shadows preparing to secretly bite our Plant Heart Academy, what should we do?"
"Kill, kill, kill—"
"Good. No matter if they are jackals, wolves, tigers, leopards, or venomous snakes and hyenas, if they dare to bare their fangs in front of our academy, we'll chop off their heads."
"Pass my order: activate Hunting Scheme 3, open up backup hidden resources, and go all in."
"Ten years of preparation, three years of readiness, all for this day."
"War is a matter of vital importance to the state; it is the ground of life and death, the path of survival and destruction, and must be examined with the utmost care."
"Since we're going to fight, let's fight to our heart's content;"
"Since we're going to fight, let's go all out;"
"If this battle establishes our prestige, that will be a hundred years of peace..."
"If this battle turns out like shit, our Plant Heart Academy will descend into war and chaos..."
"All Wizards, do you understand?"
"Fight, fight, fight—"
"Kill, kill, kill—"
"Good, morale is commendable. Go prepare."
